Army of True Salvation - Chapter 74:Want to Become Stronger
When they have already killed the zombies within their line of sight, the three of them sat on the ground to rest as they were panting heavily. The boys were not sweating much compared to Sheloah, who was drenched in sweat.
“He’s right, Sheloah. It’s already 7 in the evening. We arrived here an hour earlier. Let’s go! Before people might get angry at me,” Geof added but Sheloah just looked at her katana, then looked at the location beyond the bridge.
She had learned how to use the katana because she had a strong urge to protect those people who are important to her. Now, she had trained and did well but somewhere in her heart, she felt it was not enough. She wanted to grow more stronger.
She stood up, and the two boys stood up as well, thinking that they were about to head back, but Geof felt something off when Sheloah couldn’t remove her gaze from beyond the bridge.
“Sheloah,” Geof called her out, warning her but her attention was still elsewhere.
“I want to train alone in the cemetery.”
When she said that, Tyler and Geof were taken aback.
“Are you crazy? Do you want to die?!” Geof now sounded angry as he shook Sheloah’s shoulder. “I told you already that you can’t go there!” Sheloah brushed his hand off.
“What’s gotten into you? You’re becoming risky in your actions,” Tyler said and Sheloah just gave him an empty smile. She knew that she is getting more stubborn, but she couldn’t control her thirst for strength.
“I want to become stronger so I could assure people of their protection,” Sheloah said and when she turned around, she was stopped by Geof. He held Sheloah’s hand and pulled her towards him.
“You’re going to be the cause of your own death!”
When Sheloah heard Geof’s shout, she grew irritated and she pushed him away. She pointed his katana at Geof and the two boys were taken aback.
“Don’t get in my way,” Sheloah warned and the two became quiet. Sheloah suddenly felt guilty when she saw their expressions so she drew her katana back.
“Sheloah, don’t do this…”
Tyler was begging her to stop because Sheloah was adamant of her decision of going to the cemetery to train alone. Sheloah just smiled at him and then spoke.
“I’m sorry… but I want to become stronger. For all of you—for everyone.”
The moment she said this, she ran off. Sheloah heard Tyler’s scream but she didn’t dare look back.
“Damn it!”
Geof gritted his teeth. He didn’t know whether to chase after her, or to go back to the hotel. Whichever decision he made… he would still die either way.
