Arrancar - Chapter 41
Ikkaku looked at the Captain with understanding eyes, however internally it felt as if the sky was falling. He felt terrible as if he was doing something illegal, but despite this, the Soul Reaper understood that Captain Komamura was right. He faced his opponent along with his comrades as if he was about to face a raid boss.
The Arrancar who released his Zanpakuto then raised his pistols in two different directions, one faced Shuhei and the other faced the Ikkaku’s group. “Two Captains, Two Lieutenants and a 3rd Seat, apparently I’m getting the Espada treatment. How Lovely.” Starrk turned his head to look at the other Arrancar on the battlefield, “Hmph, actually it would seem I’m doing slightly better.”
He pulled the trigger on both of his weapons firing a cero in each direction, the Blue cero ripped through the area at an astonishing speed. The Soul Reapers used flash step to dodge but those blasts were just the decoys, “The key to victory is a good strategy, In a battle against many opponents your first step is to thin the herd.” As Starrk said that he used Sonido to arrive behind Tetsuzaemon, the cold barrel of his pistol was placed on the lieutenant’s back.
The Cry of a cero rang once more as a body fell from the sky, the soul reapers around looked on with wide eyes. “*Reap, Kazeshini*” “*Extend, Hōzukimaru*” When Starrk saw this he smiled slightly, raising his left arm he tapped the barrel of his pistol to his head.
“We were given a dossier on each of your strengths, weaknesses, and personalities, granted that it was a lot to take in at first but we all understood how critical the information in it was. However, one thing that was stressed was the difference between members of Squad 11 in comparison to the others. Honorable battles over everything, you all exist only to fight, so to see a member of that squad stand in solidarity with his comrades warms my heart.” Starrk looked at the four of them, the smile now gone from his face as he looked at them expressionless before raising his weapon.
“Cero Metralleta.” energy began to collect in the barrel at a rapid pace before a barrage of cero were released, the energy blasts flew at the Soul Reapers with ferocity as Starrk’s face remained stoic.
Captain Komamora maintained his composure as he looked on at the approaching attack, “*Bankai! Kokujō Tengen Myō’ō!*” Komamura’s Bankai brought forth a giant, a Bankai of living armor standing at about a hundred meters tall. It appears to have crushed many of the buildings beneath it’s colossal feet.
The Captain thrust his blade into the ground, The Giant mimicked this action which caused the cero to hit the steel. “Tch, what a troublesome opponent,” says Starrk as he brought his pistols together. “Unir(Merge)” A dazzling radiance was released as the two pistols became something new.
Not missing this opportunity Captain Ōtoribashi released his Zanpakuto, the golden whip flew in Starrk’s direction. Dodging, Starrk appeared higher in the sky, In his right hand was a new weapon. The weapon looked like the Model 1895 Big Bore Lever action rifle, raising it he pulled the trigger.
What happened was beyond everyone’s expectations a cero wasn’t fired but a barrage of Bala, at least that’s what it seemed like at first until they got in range of the soul reapers.
BOOM!
The Bala shined brightly then exploded sending a shock wave throughout the Battlefield garnering the attention of most of the occupants of the battlefield. “It would seem that Starrk isn’t pulling any punches huh? Cañón de la Vieja Guardia(Cannon of the Old Guard) first time I’ve seen it in action.” Layla smiled as Starrk used his wrist to twirl the gun causing an empty shell casing made of Blue Spirit energy to be ejected.
“If you didn’t have such a ridiculous Bankai I wouldn’t have resorted to this, Be warned not even I can fully control the power of this thing.” When the smoke cleared Captain Komamora and the others came into view the Werewolves clothing was reduced to ribbons as blood leaked from his left ear and from various cuts all over his body.
“I forgot that the damage your Bankai suffers is inflicted upon you due to your bond. Very well.” Starrk then fired indiscriminately at the group, the Battlefield from that point on sounded as if there was an Artillery battery dumping their unused munitions as the cry of explosions deafened the onlookers. As Starrk fired he constantly changed positions not allowing the smoke to clear nor giving them a chance to retaliate.
Overlooking it all Layla, sat there leisurely, ‘All those nights I spent meticulously writing down every detail I could remember about each and every member of the 13 Court Guard squads is paying off.’ As her hand rested on her head she thought back to the past, ‘It’s been a hundred years, the things I had to do to get to where I am today changed me. The Violence, the killing, the gore, things that I never had to deal with in my previous life. I have become a person vastly different from before, which allowed me to create the force before me today.’
When the smoke cleared Captain Ōtoribashi stood at the forefront, a mask that sprouted outward in a way that resembles a medieval plague doctor’s mask was on his face. To protect his comrades there was a triple-layered Kido wall that kept them safe from the attacks while Captain Komamora canceled his Bankai as it was nothing more than a large target for Starrk.
“Very Impressive Captains, If it was that easy I would have felt a little cheated,” Starrk says as a blade made out of spiritual energy appeared in his left hand. With that, the Idea that mid to Long-range was the strength of his Resureccion went out the window.. This would be a hard-fought battle despite it being Four verse one.
