Arrogant Wife, Don’t Run Away - C37
Shen Xingyue followed Aunt Wang’s instructions and arrived at a small house on the outskirts of the city. From afar, she saw a figure standing there, waiting for her.
“Aunt Wang, why are you here?” After getting off the car, Shen Xingyue looked at Auntie Wang in surprise.
“The orphanage hasn’t had much to do during this period of time. Besides, there are nurses. I just want to take advantage of your arrival to take a vacation and accompany you. We haven’t had a good chat since then.” Auntie Wang took the box from Shen Xingyue’s hands and carried both of them into the small courtyard.
“That’s great, then I must have had some fun recently.” Shen Xingyue snuggled up to Auntie Wang’s shoulder, acting like a child returning to its mother’s side as she flirted coquettishly with Auntie Wang.
Shen Xingyue tapped her forehead with a smile as she opened the door to the old residence that no one had lived in for a long time. “I haven’t been back here for a very long time. It’s been over twenty years, but this is my first time back.”
The door opened and the dust that assaulted their faces and the smell of damp mold came in. The two of them coughed continuously from choking. “It seems that I need to work today before I can eat good food.” Shen Xingyue smiled as she sized up the old mansion.
Putting down their luggage, the two of them started to tidy up the room without any hesitation. Very quickly, the room which was covered in cobwebs and thick dust had undergone a great change.
“Why is this house so big?” Shen Xingyue sat on the steps, looking at the living room as it wailed loudly. At some point, dust had been smeared all over her fair cheeks.
Aunt Wang, who was wiping the stairs, stuck her head out and smiled at Shen Xingyue. With a doting look in her eyes, she said, “If you’re tired, you can rest for a while. I’ll take care of the rest myself.”
“How can that be? I want to advance and retreat together with you!” After cheering herself on, Shen Xingyue got up from the floor and continued to tidy up the room.
Finally, after the sky darkened, the room was tidied up and they sat at the dining table. Shen Xingyue looked around the room, sighing with emotion, “Did the two of us decorate this place? It’s a huge change.”
He looked completely different from when he first came in. At this moment, every corner of the room was clean and tidy. The murals and decorations in the room also became clear in an instant.
“Come, drink to the fruits of our labours.” Shen Xingyue poured a cup of drinks for Auntie Wang and herself, looking at her with a giggle.
After eating, Shen Xingyue curled up on the sofa and started reading. After cleaning up, Aunt Wang walked over and sat down, “Why do you suddenly have time? Weren’t you very busy a while ago?”
“Didn’t I miss you? If you don’t have time, you still have to squeeze out some time, right?” Putting down the book, Shen Xingyue laughed as she walked to Auntie Wang’s side and massaged her shoulders.
Ye Zichen patted her shoulder with a smile, “If you have anything to say, just tell Auntie. Your parents are gone, so I’m your relative.” She had watched this child grow. If it hadn’t been for the fact that she could take better care of this child in the Gu family, she definitely wouldn’t have let others take him away.
The smile on his face froze. He hesitated for a moment, but he did not stop his actions. “Aunt Wang, what happened to my parents that year?”
After so many years, Aunt Wang was also unwilling to tell him about this matter. Every time she asked, she would deliberately avoid saying it out loud.
Sure enough, as usual, Aunt Wang did not answer her question, “You still haven’t told me why you came back. Didn’t they say that he had just started work? Is the job not going well? ”
“It’s just that my mind is in a mess and I want to come back and calm down.” She did not pursue the matter any further. She knew that even if she continued to ask, she would not get any result.
Sighing, he pulled Shen Xingyue’s wrist and let her sit in front of him, “Child, if anything happens, you must not keep it in your heart.”
Shen Xingyue nodded her head with a smile, “Don’t worry.” Aunt Wang, I’m a bit tired. I’ll go back to sleep first. ” She didn’t want to tell Auntie Wang about herself because she didn’t want her to worry about her. Besides, what had happened now, even she herself hadn’t figured out what had happened.
While Shen Xingyue and Aunt Wang were chatting, Gu Luocheng and Fang Qian had already gone to the orphanage. However, everyone had said that they couldn’t see Shen Xingyue, so the two of them had no choice but to return disappointed.
Life in the suburbs was very slow. Shen Xingyue spent every day reading with Aunt Wang, taking care of the flowers and plants in the courtyard, helping Aunt Wang wash and cook. She felt very relaxed.
It was a great pleasure for Shen Xingyue to watch the changes in these flowers every day. As she squatted in the yard and watched the tiny flower bud gradually grow larger, she felt a sense of accomplishment from just a little bit of growth.
“Shen Xingyue.” A familiar yet unfamiliar voice suddenly interrupted her leisure time. She slowly raised her head and saw the look of disgust on her face. How could he know that she was here?
He stood up with a defensive smile, “Young Master Shen, why are you here?”
Gu Chen Yang came to deal with the sound of the seafood. When he walked past the dock, he saw a familiar figure in the yard. During this time, he had calmed down and thought of what his grandfather had told him.
“Why are you here when I’m passing by?” Without the usual arrogance, he greeted Shen Xingyue familiarly. Grandfather said that if he wanted to inherit the Gu family, he must marry her.
A hint of surprise flashed through his eyes as he looked at Gu Chen Yang. Was this the Young Master Gu that he knew? How did he change his personality? I’m on vacation here. ”
“Xingyue, who’s here?” When Aunt Wang heard the noise in the yard, she walked out.
Upon seeing Auntie Wang, Gu Chen Yang was startled, “You’re Aunt Wang?” He went up and carefully inquired. He had seen Aunt Wang several times before, but that was a long time ago. Even now, he wasn’t very sure.
Ye Zichen nodded with a smile and looked towards Shen Xingyue with a questioning look.
“This is Gu Chenyang.” Shen Xingyue whispered into Auntie Wang’s ears, unwillingly introducing her to her.
“No wonder this child looks so familiar. Come, come, come in and sit. Xingyue, bring some water for Chen Yang.” She did not know what had happened to Shen Xingyue in the Shen and Gu family. Even if she asked, Shen Xingyue would only say some insignificant things.
Gu Chen Yang followed Aunt Wang into the house. Shen Xing Yue unwillingly stared at him from behind. Although he looked different now, she still didn’t like him.
After entering the living room, Gu Chenyang constantly looked around the room. When he saw the portrait hanging on the wall, he suddenly froze on the spot, a hint of surprise flashing across his eyes.
