ART Of Survival - Chapter 11
“Ho…how much ether shards? Can you say that again?” Mal asked in a shivering voice. (Auth:-I am making the common currency by the name ‘ether shards’)
“30000 middle-grade ether shards,” Natalia confirmed.
“I am rich!! So much fuckin money!!!” Mal started dancing on the spot.
“Oh! The price of the herbs just went down on the planetary exchange network so, now you will get 26000 middle-grade shards…” Natalia said, her voice was like a bucket full of ice that was thrown at Mal.
“…”
“What the heck happened now? How can you decrease the amount suddenly like that? That’s cheating,” Mal said in a complaining and dumbfounded voice.
“Sell it, if you want to now as the price can go even lower 🙂 the current price now is 25000 shards.” Natalia said smilingly.
“Th…there you go, I want to sell all of these at 25000 middle-grade ether shards right?” Mal asked in a shaky voice. “No…now it’s 24000 but, I will take these herbs at the final prize of 24000 shards.” Natalia said in a happy voice.
“…” Y u bully me [Auth:- jk :)]
“…” Mal quietly gave the herbs to Natalia while literally crying.
“As I was asking you before, would you like me to give you 24k shards upfront or would you like to exchange them for something?” Natalia asked as she looked at Mal.
“I would like to buy a magic weapon and magic armor, can you show me a catalog or something for the things you have in your shop?” Mal asked.
“Yes, I have catelogs for all the things, but you first have to tell me about your unique skill and level so that I can provide you with the weapons suitable for you,” Natalia asked excitedly because she too was curious about the person with whom the shop decided to partner up with.
“Is it important? Do I have to give you this info?” Mal asked nervously because he didn’t wanted anyone to know about his so-called power and his embarrassing level.
“Yes!” Natalia said firmly.
“Can you promise me that you will not tell anyone about what I am going to tell you?” Mal was just worried about people knowing his status.
“Yes, I promise on the name of mother eye,” Natalia said with seriousness in her voice.
*Sigh* “Fine, My un….my uni..unique…..my unique skill” Mal was still not convinced enough about telling anyone his status.
“Just tell me already!!” Natalia screamed impatiently.
“O…Okay, Get ready as you would be the first person to know about my unique skill and my level….My unique skill is ‘Can Paint’ and my level is ‘0’.” Mal said all of this in a single breath and he started panting. *Huff* *Huff* “I said it, I finally did” Mal was scared, and strangely at the same time, he was happy, it was the happiest he had ever been in the past 1 and a half years.
But unlike the happy Mal, Natalia was not happy at all. She didn’t question Mal at all because she knew that because of the contract, both the parties were not able to lie to each other and that meant that Mal was telling truth about his level and his class. It was also the first time even for her to hear of such a unique skill ‘Can Paint’ WTF was that?
“Now can you provide me with some weapons suitab….” Mal understood his mistake the moment he spoke. ‘right…what weapon she would have for my skill…a paintbrush? or a pencil? and how would I be able to fight with those?’
“Suitable my foot!! You should have told me beforehand about your level and your skill, then I wouldn’t have bothered to make you sign the contract!!!” Natalia was fuming with anger.
“You were the one who was so adamant about making me sign the contract, I didn’t been wanted to sign the stupid contact of yours!!!” Mal said with a little shame and anger.
Natalia was going to burst because of the anger she was feeling at the time. “Fuck…!” She couldn’t help but curse. It has to be known that in the 5000 years of living she had never been this angry, which meant that she was thoroughly pissed at that time.
“I don’t have time to wait for you, so be quick and give me a magic weapon suitable for my skill and also the highest tier ether weapon you have, something like a spear or a katana would do and also I want 100 lower tier healing potion along with 10 mid-tier healing potions and 5 of the high tier and yeah lastly, I want compressed food enough to last me 2 years.
Saying of that Mal paused as he looked at Natalia who had her little face puffed in a cute little pout. She stomped her leg (Auth:- A legal Loli tsun?) and went behind inside the door behind the counter, after 5 or so minutes she came back with tablet looking thing in her hand. She paused and looked at Mal for a minute viciously as she threw the tablet towards him.
“There are all the things you wanted in that tablet. You can connect it with your information panel to transfer all the things to your cloud storage and yeah I don’t have a paintbrush or a pencil for your unique ability, therefore you would either have to make it yourself or ask a blacksmith to make one for you. I would only be able to provide you with the raw materials.” (Auth:- Storage rings are outdated, who are we cave people…pfft laughable) she said mockingly.
‘I knew it, what monster would drop a paintbrush or a pencil?’ Mal knew that this would be the case but still, he was a bit disappointed.
“Oh yeah, I totally forgot about a battle suit. I want a magic ether battle suit. After thinking for a minute he continued, the color should be black and purple.” Mal demanded
“Who am I? A Dexter*? *sigh* nvm I will do that, but then you won’t have any money left. Would that be fine with you?” she asked Mal.
“Back to being poor again.” Mal sighed as he nodded his head approvingly.
“It would some time to dye your clothes, until then you can do whatever you want but don’t touch anything in the store while I am gone.” She warned Mal and turned back towards the room behind
the counter.
Mal nodded as he sat down on the stool nearby obediently….sike!! after Natalia was gone, Mal started touching everything in the store, from the ancient-looking bricks to the new high-tech computer that Natalia had on her side of the counter.
While touching the walls, Mal by mistake pushed a button on the wall, it was so well camouflaged that even Natalia didn’t know anything about the button, it was totally out of luck (Auth:- or plot armor kun) that he found the button.
*Click* a sound of something opening started coming from the ground as it started shaking. ‘I am done, the shop’s gonna collapse’ Mal thought to himself.
As he was panicking, Mal saw a pillar coming out of the ground. The pillar was pure white like snow and looked smooth like jade but the most distinct part of it was a small wooden
box that was placed on top of the jade pillar. (Auth:- Something is rising and it isn’t the shield hero!)
“What Did You Do!!” Natalia came running from the room because of the commotion Mal had caused.
“Wtf is that!!” Even Natalia was stunned looking at the pillar in the middle of the shop.
