ART Of Survival - Chapter 18
“What the hell this Katana made up of?” Mal looked at the perfectly sliced piece of marble and let out a deep breath *Gulp* ‘were my Ancestors aliens?’ he couldn’t help but gulp out loud.
“Does that mean I too am an alien? Nahh I am probably thinking too much, maybe they found this katana somewhere by mistake and kept it with themselves.” Yup, that should be the case, Mal shook these thoughts out of his head and proceeded to pick up the marble piece, “This much is enough for me, I shouldn’t be greedy.” Mal thought and quietly turned around to leave the cave.
“I am done with this cave, for now, It took way longer than what I anticipated. I hope I don’t meet the sabertooth tiger while going out.” Mal crossed his fingers and started running towards the exit.
After seeing the exit, Mal slowed down and tightened his grip on the katana, but luckily he didn’t face any difficulties exiting the cave. After finally coming out of the cave, Mal started walking in the opposite direction from where he came from and this was because of 2 reasons, 1) Mal had seen the monster running towards the outer area of the forest, that was where he came from that simply meant that going there was a no-go and the other reason was that the sloth monsters whom Mal wanted to fight reside in the inner part of the forest which was at the opposite direction from the entry of the forest.
-Back To The Morpher’s Camp-
“Are you sure he died?” Gan asked in a low voice
“Yes, I saw him going inside the sabertooth’s cave. There is no way he would have survived.” The Batboy said confidently but contrary to his claims, Mal had successfully escaped the cave and now was making his way to kill the sloth monkeys on top of that he had easily looted the cave.
But they were not as lucky as Mal because as they were talking, the sabertooth tiger was making his way towards the camp.
-Deep Inside The Forest-
After walking for a few minutes Mal finally found the sloth monkeys and unlike last time when he directly jumped to fight the mouse, this time he hid behind the bushes carefully looking at the group of monsters lazing around the trees.
“These are easy targets because of their slow speed, but that is for the hunters, for a normal person like me they are fast enough for me to not let my guard down and also they have monstrous strength.” Mal took a second to remember all the important things about the monster and slowly started moving towards the sloth that was close to him and also kind of far from the rest.
After arriving at his desired spot, Mal suddenly jumped out from the bush startling the sloths. But they soon regained their lazy selves, they didn’t even bother to look at a human standing in front of them with a weapon in his hand. To them, Mal’s existence was like that of an ant.
Seeing them ignoring him, his lips twitched, and with a swift motion, Mal swung the katana towards the neck of the sloth. Not sensing any mana or anything else coming from the blade, the sloth raised its palm at the trajectory of the sword.
Seeing this, Mal mouth curved up into a mocking smile and he said, “You are making a mistake”
*Pschhhtt!!* sound of blood spurting reverberated in the forest. The sloths looked in the direction of the noise and saw their brethren being sliced into two. Both the arm and its neck were cut without any resistance and what left of the arrogant sloth was a headless body.
“Heh…That’s what you get for underestimating me!… I mean that’s what you get from underestimating this katana!” After taking the sloth monkey by surprise and killing it, Mal made a victory pose. “I am the strongest!” [Auth:- A few hours ago this man was talking about being serious and shit -_-]
*OuuuAaaaaa* The sloths looking at their dead brother got angry and started making loud noises and started surrounding Mal.
“Shit!” Mal cursed as he moved back to his battle stance.
While Mal was struggling against sloth monkeys, the other morphers were struggling against the huge number of monsters.
“Fuck! Why are there so many of these pests? Were they going to a party or something?” Gan cursed as he slashed his sword towards the weasel-like monster killing it in one strike. These monsters were not difficult to kill for a high-level hunter like Gan, but the thing was these monsters including other small monsters were coming in waves towards them.
It was like a mini stampede.
“Something’s definitely wrong with this forest today” Gan looked towards the forest and said, “Hey you brats!” Gan called out to the twins and said, “One of go fly and see if there is something wrong around the forest and tell me.”
One of the twins nodded and flew in the sky and started looking around the forest by using electromagnetic waves and sonar waves. He detected something huge coming their way and his face darkened after looking at who it was. [Auth:- because of the mutation, they have received various kinds of abilities like these, pretty OP]
“The sabertooth tiger! It is coming this way!” He quickly transmitted the message to his brother. Hearing what his brother just said, his expression also changed.
“What?! What is he saying?” Gan shook the boy’s body and asked.
“Th…The sabertooth tiger is coming this way!” The boy said in pain.
“Sabertooth tiger…” Hearing what the boy just said, Gan’s face paled
-Back at the deeper part of the forest-
“These creatures are monkeys right and on top of that they are monsters, doesn’t that mean they should have more intelligence? If that’s the case let’s try something” Mal sheathed his sword and looked at the eyes of the sloths. Looking at the human sheathing his weapon, even the monkeys were stunned for a moment, at this point in time, both the parties were looking at each other and there was a pin drop silence between them.
Finally, after a moment of awkward silence, Mal said, “Don’t you guys have a bit of pride? How can you gang up on a weakling like myself? How shameless, if you guys have a bit of shame left in you then come at me one by one and fight like a man!” Saying this Mal unsheathed his sword back and made a heroic pose. [Auth:- The Fuck?]
After hearing what Mal had just said, the sloths tilted their head in confusion. This made it clear that they didn’t understand a word of what Mal had just said.
“I should have known, A monkey is a monkey, not a human, even if it changes to a monster it will still remain a monkey.” Mal sighed but now was too late for him to run or do something else.
“Here they come.” Mal tightened his grip on the katana he saw the group of sloths walking towards him.
-Back at the Morpher’s camp-
The ground had started to rumble and also the temperature around the place was also rising, which meant that the sabertooth tiger was near.
“Here it comes” Gan gulped as he saw a towering figure of the tiger through the trees.
