ART Of Survival - Chapter 19
“Here they come…”
“Here it comes…”
Mal’s situation was way better than that of the Morphers who were currently facing the Sabertooth tiger who was capable of spewing fire from his mouth.
“Calm down Mal,” Mal said to himself as he steadied himself and calmly started judging the situation. The virus x had taken down many people in the world and there were many people who had lost everyone close to them, Mal was just another person with such bad luck, but Mal was better at calming himself down and judging the situation, this was thanks to his obsession with art, which had made his brain able to gain focus and think clearly and differently from others way quickly and more efficiently.
Thus, contrary to him, the Morphers including Gan were in a panicked state, everyone was trying to flee and some had already given up. Even Gan was not able to keep himself calm in the face of death. [Auth:- This is totally normal, Mal is the abnormal one :)]
“We are done!” Gan said as he looked at the giant beast who was standing in front of him now. it was 10 meters tall and was 15 meters long, it had thick muscular limbs and from both the corners of his mouth tusks were coming out which made the beast look 10 times more menacing than before.
The beast had already sensed the arrival of humans, but it was not here for them, it was because of something else.
-Back at Mal-
“Bastards come at me! I am not afraid of you all!” Mal shout taunted the beasts which made them more aggressive. Mal smirked as he looked at the screaming and jumping group of the sloth monkeys. He had already made a plan in his head, “Kill them in one swoop” Mal was 100% sure of killing all of them in one slash if they were in the trajectory of the katana and this exactly was his plan, make them come as close of him as possible then game over.
This strategy of his really worked! being angry and annoyed at the puny human in front of them, they started making a circle around Mal to block all his escape roots.
“I commend you all to make such a nice plan! But unluckily for you, I am different,” Mal said and without wasting any more time, Mal slashed his sword with all his might in a circular fashion.
“…”
After a second of silence *Pshcchhhh* blood spurted from all the monster’s head, neck, or whatnot. It was as if it took a second for their body to realize that they were being cut, that’s how sharp and strong the katana was.
Sloth monkeys who were not in the range of the katana were fleeing the scene with their tails between their legs. *Whoooooshhh* Not even looking at the loot, Mal ran away from the place, he was just too disgusted by the pile of bodies that were left, and on top of that, Mal was the one who had created such a mess in the jungle.
“I have to get accustomed to dead bodies and blood as fast as possible,” Mal sighed as he took out a water bottle and his lunch that was a nutrition supplement for his body. “This place is nice to have lunch,” Mal had specifically chosen a flat area near a lake or a river, this was because the last thing Mal wanted was to get disturbed by a monster ambushing him from bushes or trees when having his lunch.
Mal sat on a somewhat flat rock and started munching on his lunch. “What a crazy day it was,” Mal was once again remembering the things that had happened to him today, he felt that today was 10 times more productive than the past 1 and a half years. “I hope nothing else goes wrong today.”
*Rooooaaarrr* The moment he said that he heard a terrifying roar in the direction of the exit of the forest, “fuck! I just jinxed it!” Mal stuffed the food inside his mouth and stood up. *Kieeeehhh!!* Another sound came from the same direction, the sound this time made Mal lost his balance, and thus, he fell down. “What now?!!” He again looked in the direction of the noise and what he saw this time made him as shocked as when he saw the beast in the cave.
The source of the sound this time was in the air. It was a huge bird it was floating in the same area that was at the entry point of the forest. “That’s a frekin dinosaur, not a bird,” On close inspection, Mal saw that the bird looked very similar to Pterodactyl.
“Should I go and look what’s going on there?” Mal was thinking about going to the place to see what was going on but then he shook his head. “I don’t want to be the living example of curiosity killed the cat,” Mal said and he tied his bag again. “Let’s find some more monsters to kill, maybe after a few hours, they would be gone?” Mal thought as he started making his way inside the jungle once again.
*Ding* (Host Is Advised To Go To The North, There Is A Chance Of Completing The 3rd Criteria By Going There)
“…”
“Are you fucking kidding me right now? I am not going anywhere” Mal didn’t even think for a second as he denied the system, I can unlock it at some other date, I don’t have to risk my life for this.
*Ding* (This Can Be The Last Time Host Gets A Chance Of Completing The 3rd Criteria0
“Fuck my life! Aren’t you too chatty all of a sudden system?” Mal asked the system.
“…”
“I must be going insane!” Mal turned around towards the area where all the chaos was taking place and ran.
The closer Mal was getting to the chaos, the more nervous he was getting. ‘I have to calm down! This is for my future, my survival is at stake here!’ Mal clenched his teeth and continued making his way towards the entrance.
-Back at Gan-
“How the fuck did we get stuck here? I should have acted faster and should have made these rookies retreat before.” Gan said as he looked at the injured kids, that he was commissioned to take care of and now, half of them were dead, not because of fighting the two huge monsters but because of the aftermath of the battle between the two giants that was still going on.
“Why did they have to fight for supremacy today only? And even if they had to then why here?” Gan was very frustrated by the situation, but sadly there was nothing he could do.
From inside the forest, Mal was coming closer and closer towards where they were.
“I hope they just see me as a random ant on the road and let me complete the criteria” Mal was hoping to simply cross them without getting any attention to himself.
