Ascenders Rift - Chapter 261
Within the main cabin, Evan sat silently in a corner with both of his blades resting on his knees; his breath followed an odd rhythm as a strange power cycled around his figure. After a short period, Evan, who remained silent, finally opened his mouth and spoke as if speaking to the wind.
“Commence, ascension…”
As if something heard him, a mechanical voice sounded in the depths of his mind.
____
[Ascender Evan shall now begin the Ascension Phase to Stage 2! Commencing in 3, 2, 1…]
____
Immediately after the voice, a bright light shone from the sky, beaming down within an instant before it crashed into Evan’s body. Looking at it from a far, it would seem as if a connection had formed between Evan and the heavens.
Even though Joe and Rick had experienced their ascension, they couldn’t help but be surprised as they hadn’t encountered such a scene.
‘So, this is the benefits of ascending with all attributes; it’s quite envying…’
Rick thought to himself as he stared at Evan’s room, wondering what kind of transformation he’s likely having.
Joe also had a tinge of envy, but more than that, like Breya, he hoped that Evan would become as strong as possible; the stronger he is, the greater their chances of ending the disasters that lay ahead.
Breya, who was on alert outside, glanced at Evan’s room with expectation before focusing once more on her task, noticing that the red and orange dots shown on her tablet had grown in numbers, moving at twice the usual speed.
‘Hmm, how troublesome, at this rate we’ll be forced to enter a battle.’
With those thoughts in mind, Breya stared at everyone on deck and spoke, “Joe, Rick, Emmy, prepare yourselves; we might have a battle on our hands at any moment!”
“Roger!”
Both Joe and Rick replied, seeming ready for battle.
“I’m here,” Emilia said as she soon after appeared from her room, her manner now serious as if the earlier matters hadn’t transpired.
Rick gave her a good look before looking ahead, his face had a slight blush on it, but he didn’t dare to show such a manner for long.
Joe felt something odd in the air, but as he couldn’t quite understand, he didn’t ponder it too much.
Unlike everyone on the deck, back within Evan’s room, there was only one core witness to view his changes.
Layla, whose two pupils were now bright purple, sat a few meters away from Evan, observing as the light doused his body, causing him to float from the ground by a few dozen inches.
‘Grow stronger, Evan. You must be stronger than anyone else,’
Layla thought to herself, as her eyes had an odd look, her thoughts right now a bit different from her usual as if she was determined to see something all the way through to an end.
Unaware of Layla’s thoughts, Evan was completely focused on his transformation. Feeling the rich amount of energies from the baptism of pure energy, he couldn’t help but utter a slight moan.
However, as if he didn’t want to be influenced by such a feeling, Evas forced the feeling down as pushed his all into absorbing it as fast as he could, accelerating his ascension process.
A few minutes later, the light from the sky dimmed before ultimately vanishing as the scene within Evan’s room returned to normal.
Evan who floated in the air soon softly landed on the floor in a crossed-legged posture. His hair, which was fluttering upwards, now once again falling to his neck as his energies returned to calmness.
Suddenly, Evan’s eyes opened, sending a ripple of power out at an incredible speed that wasn’t noticeable to many, reaching as far as a few dozens of meters before vanishing into thin air. The moment that happened, a notification sounded once more in his mind.

As he looked over his details with a slightly pleased expression, Evan smiled as he thought to himself.
‘Perfect, my strength right now is vastly superior to even a full year’s worth of training in the Phantasma Greater World. I can now handle at least one of those monsters, while Layla, Joe, and the others can take on another as a team. Since it’s so, we only need to be wary of one; it looks like we’ll need to form a comprehensive battle plan…’
With those thoughts in mind, Evan stared at the gorgeous beauty in front of him with a smile, knowing that she was worried for him; it made his heart feel at ease, furthering his resolve never to let the same tragedy repeat itself.
“Evan, how is it?” Layla asked as she looked at him directly in the eyes.
Evan smiled, showing a confident look as he replied, “It couldn’t have been better, come, let’s go join the others; I can sense a few threats nearing.”
“Okay,” Layla replied as the two soon left the cabin, entering the deck as they prepared to fight their first battle within these now treacherous waters.
