Ascension Of The Lightning God - Chapter 70
After making an anonymous call to the police from one of the phones he got from the thugs, Marcus made his way out of the club.
Damsel in distress. A complete accident, a meeting that was not planned, but it happened, and now a lady needs help. Help the lady in need and be a hero! But first, find out what the problem is.
Difficulty: Normal.
Reward: 50 SC
Status: Completed
Mission was finished in success; he helped Anna resolve her problem, with no gang to go after her, she won’t be in danger anymore. Marcus suspected that the mission wasn’t supposed to be resolved this way, but it’s not his fault that there was such a huge loophole.
[Don’t worry Host, feedback has already been sent, and in the next update the issue will be resolved]
Es responded to his thoughts, and from the looks of it, he won’t find more loopholes like this. Too bad.
Coming back home he took a shower and changed his clothes. Moving the bracelet on his hand he set it up to a higher gravity, and as the pressure slowly grew larger, his mind focused on breathing and adjusting his body to the new gravity. On a daily basis he is wearing the bracelet on slightly smaller gravity, and then increasing it when he is training. It would be troublesome to walk somewhere while he barely can move a finger.
Ring Ring.
Looking at the screen of the phone, Marcus saw Professor’s Johnson name appear on it.
“Hello.”
“Marcus! It’s good to talk to you again.” Over the video call, Professor Johnson looked much better than when he saw him last time. As if he got younger ten years.
“How are thing’s going for you, Professor Johnson? Any progress with the gate?”
“To be honest, two days ago I finished putting the plans you gave me on the blueprints that can be used. And with the knowledge you gave me, I had so many ideas; I feel that I can develop a working warp drive in less than a year.”
“The gate Professor Johnson, the gate.” Professor Johnson was getting off track, so Marcus quickly remained him the main subject of the conversation.
“Yes, yes. We are estimating that we will need at least, three years to finish building it. We will have to make many custom parts, and all of them will have to fit perfectly together. This will consume most of our time. There is also the issue of energy source, but we have an idea how to resolve it. If it’s possible we could use your help on S.S. Atlas.” With a smile, Professor Johnson invited him to the space station.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t go there yet. I’m planning on meeting with someone soon. And when I get more information, I will contact you again. But since we are talking, already there is something I need to ask you about.”
“What is it?”
“I’m sending a few files to you now, what I want to know is how long will it take to make it?” with a swipe Marcus initiated a transfer of data. And a few seconds later Professor looked over a blueprint of something much bigger than the gate he was supposed to make.
“Is this what I think it is?” in a few seconds Professor Johnson realized what he is looking at. And he couldn’t believe that something like this can exist.
“What do you think Professor Johnson?”
“To be honest I’m not sure, around four and a half years. Maybe shorter if we can make a production line for all the parts. As for the power source, it’s the same idea as I had, just on a much bigger scale. Its defiantly doable, but I’m not sure if the council will agree to this. The scale is too big.”
“Don’t worry about the council; I will be talking to them soon. Hopefully, they will say yes, the deal I have for them is too good to pass on it. I will only have to confirm some things with one scammer and a crazy woman. ”
“That doesn’t sound like fun I can only wish you good luck. And come to the S.S. Atlas when you can, we could really use your help.”
“Sure thing, talk to you later. I have someone waiting for me.” After the call ended, Marcus walked to the door and opened them, letting Mei and Alexa in. He was expecting this. Mei was the first one to start talking.
“Marcus, you know what is in the news? A gang called Modifiers has been completely destroyed, by one person at that. Unfortunately, their hideout wasn’t recording the video from cameras as to not create any evidence and the face of the one who did it remains a mystery. Have you heard about that maybe?”
This is bad.
After that Marcus spent his time training, making preparations for when they go back and doing missions, all he could. In the end, the army had to cover up what Marcus did, but since it was a gang, he only was scolded by Rick. And when it was done, Marcus started to put his plan into place, he gathered all he knew and slowly prepared to meet with the council.
—
Four years later. S.S Yggdrasil, Low Sun Orbit.
The vast space station was slowly orbiting the Sun, and the huge solar panels the size of a moon were generating enough power to supply a planet for years every minute. But their purpose was one, and it was to fuel one machine.
Walking towards the command hub, Marcus fixed his lab coat and checked if his hair looks good. As the door opened a figure he didn’t see for weeks became visible, with a smile, he walked up to her and hugged her from behind.
The woman that used to be his only friend now became smoothing more. With what started as a fight was now a heated relationship.
“Cut it, Marcus. It’s not the time for that, we will soon be going back to our world, and there is still much to do for us.”
Mei responded to him while turning back; she looked into his sunglasses where she saw her reflection. Giving him a small kiss, she punched him in the stomach and looked back at the Holotbale. “It’s good to see you again Marcus.”
“It’s good to see you too, Mei.”
