Ascension of the Master Assassin - Chapter 13: Grand Library of Adeonis
Thus, after shooting her a friend request and explaining that he would love to cooperate with them but she had to die for his sake, he cold-bloodedly ended her life instantly.
He did it without a care in the world about what Ivy League’s reaction would be as he figured that they had their plates full with the Wild Boss that they wouldn’t bother him for the time being.
And that would be his window of opportunity. Although small, it was all he needed.
He knew just the method of fast levelling at this stage, and that would be the repeatable errand quest that he was planning to complete in the first place.
Even though he would definitely prefer to start the quests after getting the [fleet] skill which he originally planned, he had no choice but to accelerate his plan and skipped that step.
As the magnificent view of the luxurious library that was built entirely out of numerous perfectly chiselled marble in the shape similar to that of the famous Pantheon in ancient Rome, entered Venn’s view, a feeling of melancholy overcame Venn.
He recalled the time in the past where he had spent almost nine entire years of in-game hours in this place, and completed through all sorts of books in this place like a mad man for his sister.
Scrolling and flipping through piles upon piles of books stacked like a mountain without any sleep just for a very small possibility, a fleeting hope of something of value.
Nine entire years of hard work and sweats to save Rena, but it was all useless in the end.
Clenching his fists, he was determined this time to change both his and Rena’s fate this time.
His skills had improved tremendously compared to when he started 10 hours ago due to his sage title which essentially doubles his skill masteries and training speed, but it wasn’t enough. He needed to be more powerful to have a say against the others that are more stronger than him.
Taking one last look at his status information, he proceeded towards the direction to the grand building that stood out like a sore thumb in the inner city which was towering approximately a hundred and thirty metres of height.

Venn entered the library without any issues. The library is permanently opened for all visitors that have a friendly relationship to the kingdom and there is no entrance fee charged to enter it.
Stepping into the building, he couldn’t help but be awed once more by the magnificent view of the inner furnishings of the library despite him practically staying a third of his life here.
Unlike the heavily industrialised style of the kingdom, the inner view of the library was filled with a thick canopy of trees with their branches crossing in a certain orderly but chaotic arrangement.
Tendrils of plants and stems often in a spiral form could also be seen stretching out and twines round suitable wooden supports and beams that build the fundamental base of the otherworldly paradise.
One could fully partake in the joy of reading the books available in such a tranquil and peaceful environment with rows upon rows of non-lendable books filling one’s eyes. There are so many books that one could be lost in the maze of bookshelves that the library offers.
Such elaborate and majestic landscape could only be made possible through the magic of the great mage Adeonis.
Legends revealed that the library itself was older and had more history than the existences of all the human kingdom combined.
It was said that when he first built this place, it was opened to all races on one condition.
That condition was that anyone visiting the library must offer a book to the library in return of the knowledge one would gain from reading the books.
Over the period of time, the place would go on and accumulate a diverse selection of books featuring all kinds of knowledge from all races in the world.
There was even a saying that even Gods had visited this place and abided by the rule as well. However, no one knows whether the information was reliable or not. Venn merely read about a short passage in a random book written by a bard that talks about his encounter with a God in the library of Adeonis.
As Venn walked into the library, he spotted a familiar figure amongst a group of twenty people, whispering as softly as they could discussing some important matters to prevent getting booted out from the library by the female Elf who was also the overall caretaker of the library.
Moving nearer to have a closer look, Venn’s expression lightened up a little.
“Klein?”
Though the other party didn’t even know his existence, Venn knew him very well. The bald guy with the burly build and tanned skin was the only best friend of his, back in the previous timeline.
Although his appearance might look like a middle-age man, looks can be deceiving. He was actually just a year older than him. Venn guessed that it must be his baldness that made him look twenty years older than his actual age.
Klein was his team leader in Azure Corporation that took care of him when he first joined the game.
