Assassins Creed System - Chapter 5 Training Regime And Affinities
Waking up I sit up into a lotus position and start cultivating my chakra again whilst condensing the chakra that is coming in to the same density as the chakra within my body. Thanks to my way of cultivating chakra a blue mist surrounds me which is why I got my own room, the only reason I was able to ask the head caretaker for a room to myself is because I was favoured by the hokage along with Minato as we had shown promising talents.
Finishing up my cultivation session once two hours have passed as it is time for me and Minato to meet up with our Jounin sensei. Getting dressed I head out and make my way to Minato’s room, after meeting up with Minato we go to the dining room for breakfast. Finishing up quickly we run to training area three. When I first knew that we were going to train at the same place that Sandaime trained the Sannin and where Kakashi trained Team 7 (Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura – Bell test to become genin).
Getting there just on time we were panting because we were going full speed to aboid being late as the last time we were late we had to sit on our knees with weights put on top for an hour. What was worse was that he would put the exact amount that you could handle for the hour which would leave your knees aching yet by the end he would still expect you to finish the required training regiment. The training regiment consisted of going through a course full of traps, taijutsu sparring, ninjutsu theory and practical, shurikenjutsu, kenjutsu (for me exclusively as I wanted to use a sword) while Minato was to continue practicing his ninjutsu and then we would study fuuinjutsu last finishing up for the day.
The only good thing about our Jounin sensei was that he would take us for food, sometimes we would go to Ichiraku’s which was still ran by his parents at this point while he helped in the background. Other times we would go to that barbeque place (Yakiniku Q – the place Asuma takes Choji, Ino and Shikamaru to eat), whenever we go there we tend to go for all we can to punish our sensei. I remember the first time he took us to Yakiniku Q we emptied his wallet as he didn’t expect us to eat so much, we may have been bloated by the end but it was worth it once we saw his face of despair as he luckily had enough on hand at the time to pay however he was barely left with any ryo, about thirty or so ryo was left in his wallet however we quickly used that up by buying some dango when he was taking us back to the orphanage.
It may have been priceless to see his face however after that he held a grudge for like two weeks and made the training twice as hard.
Our training was made harder as normally for the traps it would ONLY be traps spanning across a certain area that we had to make it across not setting off as much as we can, sensei had said that once we don’t activate any traps then it would be considered as passing. But thanks to making it harder we would have to do the same however he would place genjutsu over certain traps whilst also ambushing us at certain critical points or throwing kunai at certain traps we were just passing by so they would activate and catch us off guard as he threw them silently.
Normally our taijutsu spars would be either us two against him or one on one. The one on one could be me against him, Minato against him or me against Minato. However once he made it harder whenever it was the two on one he would make a clone that would throw shuriken/kunai at us whenever we showed any openings (which were a lot) and whenever we were going one on one he would sit by the side and throw shuriken/kunai at whoever showed an opening during the battle. If it was one of us against him he would get whoever was at the side to throw shuriken/kunai at anyone that showed openings. Sometimes he would let out an opening on purpose to test the person at the side and if they didn’t throw something they would instead have a shuriken/kunai thrown at them.
Normally we would just read notes on ninjutsu theory from the library that sensei had brought however after making it harder he would instead copy it onto another empty scroll and jumble up the letters and we would have to sort out the letters to make the word, although thank god that he didn’t jumble the letters out from their word. When I say that he jumbled it, I don’t mean that he mixed everything together and hoped for the best he would just jumble the words like fire would be reif etc.
Normally for our practical ninjutsu he would just get us to read the jutsu scroll and then do the jutsu and learn from our failures with him sometimes chiming in whenever we didn’t understand a part of the jutsu. But after making it harder for us whenever we tried to complete our handsigns he would throw shuriken/kunai at us to break our concentration and stop us forming our jutsu. Luckily the jutsu we were practicing were only the E-Rank jutsu we are supposed to learn at the academy (Henge no jutsu and kawarimi no jutsu (Clone Jutsu and Transformation Jutsu)) therefore the backlash of having our jutsu interupted was light and after a couple minutes resting the damage would be gone.
Normally for the shurikenjutsu practice we would just throw out shuriken/kunai to the target boards and try and get them as close to the middle as possible however after the training was made harder we had to aim for moving targets that sensei had set up which would swing amongst the tree branches whilst there were ‘civilians’ behind the moving parts and if we so much as nicked them we would have to start throwing over again until we hit the target with every shuriken/kunai thrown.
Normally for my kenjutsu practice I would just practice my stance while he corrected my positioning however afterwards when the training was harder sensei sparred against me using another sword and left me to my own devices whe trying to correct my stance which was harder than it sounds.
For Minato, sensei would normally just ignore him while he helped me with my kenjutsu however afterwards he would occasionally throw kunai at him during our kenjutsu spar.
The only difference between the normal practice for our fuuinjutsu and the harder practice was that we were made to do more in the same time e.g we would usually use an hour to do about ten seals as we weren’t proficient enough to make too many of them at that point, I could make more than Minato thanks to my eyesight being superior helping with me seeing the details when writing the fuuinjutsu down. However thanks to being good at fuuinjutsu I was made to do way more than Minato as we were only doing double what we could normally do with Minato at ten normally and then twenty afterwards. For me, I was required to do twenty eight as I could normally manage fourteen.
Thanks to those two weeks of hell we were too exhausted to do much else other than make it home then collapsing onto our beds, and that was only afte the first week as the training was made so intense that we would mostly collapse just as we had finished out assigned number of seals.
However also thanks to those two weeks of hell we progressed like never before, it was like a wildfire had started in a dry forest. Our potential had been pushed to the max, I was actually surprised our bodies didn’t break down after that but I just chalked it up to the fact that children in this world develop faster and better thanks to chakra their bodies and minds. At this point in time we had completed stage one of our traps test now we were onto stage two where more intricate and hidden traps are set up and after we pass stage two that will be our traps tests over.
Our taijutsu spars were now reversed where one of us had to take on sensei and the other at the same time as our taijutsu level was now at mid-chunin, normally three year olds wouldn’t be this strong however we have the talent and the necessary resources put towards us which makes it easier for us to grow in strength rather than waiting for the academy to start and then learn about our villages history for a year while doing taijutsu spars against the other kids that would be below our level and then we would be forced to sit at the side during shurikenjutsu lessons because we would have enough accuracy and speed to pass already.
We now already know the basics of the use of the elements, even though we don’t even know our affinities we were still required to learn about all the elements except for kekkei genkai elements, and the manipulation of true chakra therefore we don’t do theory anymore as the intermediate scrolls are for chunins and above. We also aren’t allowed to practice above D-Rank Jutsu before we become chunin either as C-Rank jutsu and above were for chunin and above therefore we also stopped doing practical ninjutsu as well making more time for other stuff we wanted to focus on. I focused more on kenjutsu and fuuinjutsu whilst Minato focused on the traps course and fuuinjutsu.
We are also onto the second stage of our shurikenjutsu practice which is the moving targets again and once we have finished that there is stage three which is where we have to hot the targets indirectly by knocking out shuriken and kunai against one another (you know that thing Itachi practiced doing in the forest in Sasuke’s memory).
For my kenjutsu practice I am already onto low jounin level of skill as my love for the sword and my talent has boosted the speed at which I learn. For our fuuinjutsu we had already become 3rd stage fuuinjutsu users and thanks to my eyes I am already on the cusp of becoming a 4th stage fuuinjutsu user whilst Minato is slightly laggin behind but I help when I can so that he doesn’t get left behind too far.
Finishing up our training for today me and Minato are slightly out of breath, more so me since I am not breaking through my chakra gates and palaces whereas Minato had already broken through his second gate making a breakthrough to mid genin levels of chakra. Luckily my next breakthrough to condensing my chakra is coming up again as he is beginning to catch up in strength as he gains more chakra.
“Ok, you two come here. Today we are checking your chakra affinities as the hokage has ordered me to bring you two to him after today’s training as he has something imporatant to talk to you about.” Sensei told us as we walked towards him.
Holding out his hand he gave us a piece of chakra paper each and told us to put our chakra into the paper. Minato put his chakra into the paper at the same time as I did. Minato’s paper was tore into four pieces. The first piece had a yinyang symbol in the middle, another lit up on fire, the next piece then started crinkling while the last piece just disappeared as if it had teleported away.
Half of my paper disappeared into a swirling blackhole (think of the kamui) while the other half was falling so slow that it seemed as if it had frozen in place before returning back to normal and finally falling to the ground.
Minato’s affinties are wind, fire, lightning, yin, yang and space. Our sensei was so shocked as Minato had so many affinities, three of the five main elements, two of the advanced elements and one supreme element. My affinities were space and time. Though I myself felt it was anti-climactic due to seeing the many affinities that Minato.
“Sensei why were you so shocked by my affinities when I don’t have as many as Minato?” I asked when sensei regained his focus from his stupor that he had been in for the past two minutes.
Looking more serious than usual he began to set up seals in the surroundings. The seals he had set up consisted of:
A space sealing barrier seal.
A noise cancelling barrier seal
A space concealment barrier seal.
A bewildering domain seal.
The seals effects were that they sealed the surrounding space they were in so they couldn’t have someone spy on them relying on a space technique and that they couldn’t hear or see them. In addition to those procautions he also set up the bewildering domain seal which activates a domain which makes people that are walking towards the area we are currently occupying disregard its existence.
Seeing how serious he is taking this I slightly tense up out of anxiousness and expectation however after a few seconds I calm down once again. Receiving an approving gaze from our sensei for being able to keep calm in such a situation he begins to tell us the reason why he is taken such precautions.
“Minato. Altair. What I am about to tell you can not leave here and will be strictly confidential, of course I will have to report to the hokage about this but apart from the hokage no one else, and I mean no one can know of this.” Taking a short pause after finishing this sentence he gives us time to digest what he has said.
“Altair, the reason why I was just as shocked if not more shocked about your affinities is that the last time anyone was recorded to have the time affinity was Otsutsuki Kaguya and Otsutsuki Hamura.”
