Astrid The Hybrid Princess - Chapter 318 Visit
CHAPTER 318
BOOOOOHHH!
At the sound of the village horn been blown, all three ladies stopped what they were doing and saying and looked in the direction of the gate before looking at each other with confusion etched on their faces.
“What is going on?”
“It can’t be good. The horn has rarely ever been blown,” Sabrina said.
“What do you think, Katrina?”
“Elena, I sincerely do not know, but whatever it is, we must prepare ourselves.”

As soon as one of the guards saw the troops of elves walking towards them, they quickly sounded the alarm to warn everyone about the intruders.
Before long, Clive and most of the guards were already at the gate of the village waiting for their invading visitors to arrive.
They did not have to wait long as Terrence and a few others increased the speed of their horses and rushed upfront to meet them.
In no time, they were standing face to face with Clive and his guards but from a safe distance just in case.
“Greetings elves. To what do we owe the pleasure?” Clive shouted a bit so they could hear him. Judging from their outfit, Clive did not need someone else to tell him who they were, especially with the touch of green so evident in their dressing.
“Greetings. We come in peace,” Terrence announced.
“Do you? You come to my village with an army of soldiers.”
“We are only passing by. We stopped to ask you a question. We know two people were kidnapped and would like to know if they were kidnapped by you.”
Terrence wasted no time in stating the reason why they came as he did not have time to waste beating around the bush.
At the mention of two people being kidnapped, Clive’s mind flashed back to when they had dragged Astrid and Jareth to their village.
“No such persons here.”
“Perhaps I was not clear enough. I seek a human girl, an elf and a beast, does that ring a bell now?” Terrence was very careful not to say hybrid as the last thing he wanted was to risk others knowing about who she really was and increasing the competition to get Astrid.
Clive remained muted. He did not know whether he should disclose their identity to the elves. All of a sudden he recalled when Astrid told their tale and while they were both exiled.
It appeared that these elves where in search of them because Jareth betrayed them for her, a human.
Although it was still not clear to him as to what happened exactly since the elves and the humans were not at war but with what Astrid said, there was a misunderstanding, nevertheless, Jareth lost and was branded a traitor, probably because of her.
That was the thoughts going through Clive’s mind as at the time.
“Let me make it easy for you. The elf has been branded a traitor and they need to be captured.”
“She is dangerous and cannot be trusted. So if you have them, hand them over,” Terrence announced once more.
Nobody spoke. Everyone had their eyes on the two leaders and wondered what would happen next. They knew the elves were looking for Jareth and Astrid but their accusations seemed off.
Judging from the little time both were in the village, they did not cause trouble and were loving, especially the Human girl as he called Astrid.
“We do not have them.”
“Please think carefully about your response. I would hate for things to turn sour. Give us the human and the elf, then we would be on our way.”
“Or?” Clive stated for him. Who did he think he was to come to their village and give them order?
Clive thought that was why he said the word Or for him.
“Or we would have to search for ourselves.”
“We do not answer to you. What right do you have to search in my village?”
“You do not understand. I would repeat again. Do not make the mistake of hiding a dangerous girl. She is not what you think she is. Hand her over.”
“And what do you think she is?” Everyone turned when they heard a foreign voice. It was none other than Katrina.
All through their useless conversation, herself and her friends had been listening and it pained her when she heard the elf call Astrid dangerous.
“Pardon.” Terrence turned to the side a bit so that his gaze and attention were now fixed on Katrina.
He was a bit shocked that a lady would appear there all of a sudden. Apparently, his words had annoyed her. He wasn’t angry as her talking only confirmed his suspicion. They were there.
“It looks to me that you do not even know her at all,” Katrina added.
“So that means she is here,” Terrence stated rather than ask.
“Answer the question first, what do you know of her?”
“She is dangerous. More dangerous than you could ever imagine.” Katrina scoffed at him. She could not believe that rubbish coming out from his mouth.
She prided herself a good judge of character and from the little time Astrid spent with them, she did not see anything dangerous in Astrid.
The girl was a pure soul filled with love. Her only problem was that she was naïve and too trusting for her own good.
“You got that wrong. You know nothing about her. She is good, kind, loving, caring and meek. Such a sweet girl and nothing like what you mentioned. Yes, I would not deny the fact that she was here, but she has gone and even though she was still here, we would never hand her over to you.”
Rather than answer Katrina, Terrence turned his head back to Clive who had stayed speechless all these while.
“Is that so?”
Clive found his lost voice and cleared his throat before speaking. “You heard her, she has said it all. They are not here.”
