Astrid The Hybrid Princess - Chapter 321 Attack
CHAPTER 320
“As you wish, your highness.”
With all plans settled and their schedule rearranged, they charged forward on their horses, running with all they’ve got to cover more grounds before the day became completely dark.

~SOCERER’S LAND~
By the next morning, Astrid, Jareth and Snow woke up and began the new day.
Jareth had hoped that today they would use it to cover lost ground as they lost a full day’s journey due to her, collapsing.
It was already towards mid-day and Jareth had no plans of making them stop anytime soon.
He had told her in advance about what would happen and hoped she got enough rest but giving her one day sleep, he knew she would have better energy reserve and could go longer on their journey before they broke it to catch some rest and continue again.
By now the terrain was beginning to change and they were venturing into a less dense part of the forest and moving towards new grounds which entailed fewer trees and more of gardens or bushes in this case.
It was a sigh of hope though, as the danger zone had begun to clear out.
From that point on, he knew that his fear would stop and he can rest assured a bit.
But honestly, was there ever a time when they were not on a constant run?
After another hour had gone by and they were about leaving the last set of trees and entering pure grassland, Astrid suddenly stopped and turned back.
Jareth and Snow stopped with her then turned to see what had made her stop. In that split moment, Jareth saw Astrid completely different from her normal person and a whole lot more serious with a stern look on her face as her eyes narrowed ahead.
Before he could ask what was wrong, Astrid’s brows furrowed closer forming a deeper V at the space between her brows and her eyes changed colours.
SWOOSH!
Something as fast as a bolt of lightning rushed towards them, particularly Jareth but just when it was about hitting him, Astrid swerved her right hand to the side and a ball of blue light ht whatever it was that was sent their way and it hit the nearby tree.
Sensing the newfound danger Jareth took his stance instantly. Snow did as well, bring his fangs and wings at the direction the bolt of lightning came from.
Everywhere around them became eerie quiet and only the movement of the leaves could be heard accompanied by the sweet melodies of the wind blowing against the trees.
It was as though nothing that had happened just happened. Everywhere went back to normal instantly and that only made Astrid angry.
Due to her unstable emotions reacting to the land, her both hands lit up, one with orange light and the other blue.
She closed her eyes for a split second, trying to sense where the danger lurked at and quickly opened them back.
Not wasting time, Astrid threw both daggers in the direction she sensed something lurking in the dark.
She did not waste a second and formed a ball of magic and threw it in the direction of the thicker parts of the trees and dense bushes.
There was a rustling in the trees and almost instantly she saw Jareth’s arrows rushing forward with great speed at where the rustling came from, trying his best to catch what it was.
But the arrows flew backwards and stopped in mid-air. Astrid looked to her side and saw Jareth struggling to control the arrows, forcing them back but they did not push forward.
Finally, it let them be and stopped pushing on them but they still remained in the air.
Astrid took that has her cue to carry on.
She twirled once and in the next minute, landed on her knees. From where she knelt down on one knee, the earth shook and a rumbling was felt as cracks formed and rushed towards the source of all these commotions.
The next thing she heard a small shout, but it was as though someone fell and that had seemed to boost her morale that she was doing this right.
Getting back on her feet, she moved both of her hands, wide apart and the wind began to gather in front of them, it kept on gathering, packing debris, twigs and little chunks of wood in one place.
After a minute, she had raised a mini-tornado and sent it at their attackers.
Boom!
The rustling continued and the next thing everyone saw, someone jumped out from the ticks trees and landed with one knee and hand to the ground while the other stretched on the ground as well with the other hand lifted to the side and the head facing downwards.
Astrid and Jareth squinted at their attacker and each of them took their positions, getting a better stance and ready to counter whatever surprise attack their attacker would throw their way.
They had not expected that their attacker would speak at that time and were left completely stunned and speechless by the wordless piercing cry that echoed.
“Hahhahaaa” Astrid frowned at the laughter but that only told her the gender of their attacker.
It was none other than a female was none other than a female.
‘What is a female doing here in this wild and strange empty land?’ Astrid questioned in her mind.
Unknown to her, Jareth had the same question running through his mind as well.
“ELF!”
That was the next word that came out of the lady’s mouth that made them speechless. Till now she had refused to raise her head for her face to be seen so they did not know who she was.
But from the streak of lightning or whatever t was, they did not need a double telling to know just what or who she was.
A mage, a sorcerer or name it.
At first thought, Astrid thought that it was the no good, busy body sorceress that had chased her from the elven forest till the valley of lost souls that had caught up with them here in the sorcerer’s land and she was beginning to wonder if she was a monitoring spirit or something.
“Tell me what a sorceress is doing with an elf!”
At the same time, she said that that was when the lady stood straight but still had her head looking down and avoiding their stares.
“Remind me why an ELF IS IN A SORCERER’S LAND?!” She shouted out her question and lifted her head for them to see her face but that did not come with just a face reveal.
Catching them off guard by her questions, she launched another attack at them but Astrid was faster.
Due to her powers improving, she could sense what was to happen even before it did and before the next wave of the magic blast could get to them, she raised up a magic shield and the attack ended up hitting the shield and dissipated.
Ass soon as everything died down, Astrid was shocked to see the face of their attacker which was as clear as day and a nightmare in its wake.
