Astrid The Hybrid Princess - Chapter 331 Losing Her
CHAPTER 331
Meanwhile, as they were enjoying themselves, Prince Terrence and his troops did not relax in their pursuit and instead, they charge forth.
What had taken Astrid and Jareth like two days to cross over to the land of the mages, took them a day plus to reach there on horse before they stopped to rest so that when they resumed their journey, they would not tire out easily.
Luckily for Astrid and her small team, they resumed their journey that morning and covered a large ground while running as Jareth felt they had wasted enough time already with her training.
Astrid had wanted to complain but for the first time, Nerissa sided with Jareth.
“If what you told me were very much true, then I suggest we increase our speed and charge faster. Who knows just how many people would be chasing after you?”
“Okay Aunt. Snow, I would have to put you down for a while, okay baby?”
“Okay master.”
Getting their things set after the small break to eat, they all continued with their journey on a faster pace than before.

~ALACIA~
Back at the mer kingdom, Marin arrived with her troops and went to repor to her elder sister, the mer-queen.
“Greetings sister.”
“Marin!” Queen Marceline’s face lit up upon the arrival of her dearly beloved kid sister.
She immediately left her throne and swam closer to where her sister was, then pulled her in for a nvce hug.
“I missed you.”
“I missed you too, sister.” Marin returned her gesture by wrapping her hands around her sister’s waist and hugged her back.
Back in the day, both of them were more of a cat and dog, always chasing each other and competing with each other.
But when the time came for Marceline to become queen, royal duties enshrouded her and both parties had to reduce their time together to get things done.
It was even, more tough on Marceline when her husband the mer-king had died and worst when she lost her son, the heir to Alacia, prince Eric. Still, she put on a bold front and ruled her kingdom.
So whenever her sister went out on patrol for long, she would miss her so much as she was her confidant. The one she trusted with her secrets and her feelings.
“Come, let us go to my chambers.”
Together, both of them swam towards the royal chambers and once in they became free to talk as they pleased.
“Welcome from the surface. Tell me, how did your search go?” Marceline immediately attacked her with her questions.
She had been dying and yearning for good news about the whereabouts of Isadora’s child. She needed Astrid to get Isadora to reveal the whereabouts of her kingdom to her.
But the fairy Queen was one hell of a tight lipped prisoner.
Marin’s face dropped and she lowered her head in front of her sister. “What is it, Marin. Tell me, how was your journey?”
“WHAT!” Marceline shouted in surprise.
“I’m sorry.”
Marin knew just how much of a temper problem her sister had. And she knew the news would upset her once she broke it to her, which was why she came to tell her alone.
She knew how to calm her sister better than anyone. It had always worked over the years and it still did.
“You had her and you did not inform me? Marin!”
Okay, she was not angry at the fact that her sister lost the hybrid, no. She was angry about not being informed when they did.
“Umm that was because, we did not have her technically.”
“Pardon.”
“Yes.” Marin raised her head so she was looking at Marceline eye ball to eyeball. “I sent a spy to trail after her since the first opportunity we had with she bating in the river was ruined due to the elf’s presence, I had someone follow them.”
“Okay. Go on.”
“He had her, he was with her, but the elf was a problem. Apparently they all escaped from a human village together and they tricked him and left.”
“Why did he not chase after them?”
“He did. I ordered him to return as they were long gone.”
Marceline took a deep breath before exhaling slowly. “Fine. Welcome back. We would restrategize and get her.”
“Okay.”
“Mother.” A sweet melodious voice called out from outside Marceline’s chambers and both of them turned their heads towards the door just at the same time a beautiful mermaid swam in.
“Mother,” she called again but then her eyes locked on someone else. “Aunt Marin!”
“Kaia.”
“When did you return?” The happy mermaid asked and she swam up to them.
“A few minutes back.”
“Welcome home.”
“Thank you, dear.”
“How was your mission aunt?” Kaia quickly asked.
“Same old, same old,” Marin replied her niece sweetly while giving Marceline a sign.
“Oh, sorry about that.”
“No worries. Now how far have you gone with your training?”
“I have finished mastering all you taught me. I would show it to you during our next lesson.”
“That’s my girl.” She patted her nieces head as though she was still a kid.
“Aunt,” Kaia complained.
“What? Didn’t you come here to see your mother? I’ll be on my way now.”
“Oh yes, I did. Bye.”
Marin excused herself and left the mother and daughter mermaids alone.”What is it, Kaia?”
“Mother, there has been reporting about some weird vibrations coming from the east part of the kingdom.”
“East?”
“Yes.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, mother. What do you think she is doing now? Is she trying to break free again?” Marin asked.
Marceline looked thoughtful for some time as she processed what her daughter had just told her.
The East part of the kingdom was where Isadora was held captive and for vibrations to be coming from there, it was evident something was going on, on the inside.
“Hmm, come let us check it out.”
“Yes, mother.”
Together both of them swam away from the royal chambers and headed for the East side of the kingdom.
