Awakened: Evolving to Godhood - Chapter 319
[Resonance is perfect!]
The moment Elliot wore the armor and the boots that were gold in color and looked majestic, something remarkable happened, and it attracted the attention of the dark elf.
Both his newly equipped items unleashed a blinding shine that brightened the entire area in gold for a few moments.
[Your equipment set had unlocked an additional effect.]
[Congratulations! Your vitality has increased by 300%!]
[Your health point has increased to 5000 points!]
“Mystic Grade Item? I guess it’s above high-ranked artifacts and more ridiculous than one. It’s already good that it gives a significant increase in defense and speed. But it also increases my vitality only because I am wearing two items of the same set, which makes it a masterpiece.” Elliot was livid to gain such an increase.
Elliot knew that he was still missing two more pieces of the Heavenly King Set, namely gloves and helmet. If he could get them, then he would have the entire set. Having an entire set of mystic-grade equipment meant gaining two resonance effects on top of the normal effects of the items.
The thing was that he didn’t know who had them and where he could see them.
“My lord, what was that?” Freya asked as she blinked her pretty eyes at him.
Elliot had long given up on trying to make this foolish elf talk to him normally, and being called a lord didn’t sound bad to his ears, so he didn’t say anything to correct her. Since she wants to call him a lord, he wouldn’t be pitiful enough not to allow her.
“That blinding display happened because I am wearing mystic-grade equipment of the same set that resonated with each other and unlocked a special effect, increasing my vitality by 300%.”
Freya’s eyes widened to the size of saucers. The mystic grade items were too good, and their superb effects exceeded her expectations and shed light on her ignorance. She had never heard about mystic-grade items. But considering that their effect was far better than high-ranked ones, she believed it was the best grade item.
“Whoever created these items must be a legend.” Freya also thought that the person wearing them was also a legend.
Elliot turned around from Freya and towards the mountain of artifacts and again buried himself in picking up the best of the best.
After a while, he equipped himself with the wind and fire gloves too. And, he didn’t forget to wear the demonic amulet and body strengthing bracelet.
[You’ve gained the ability to spew out wind blast from your left palm!]
[You’ve gained the ability to throw out fire from your right palm!]
[Your stamina has reached 500 units!]
[Your strength has increased to 300 units!]
[Your speed has increased to 700 units!]
“Lead me to them.”
Right after the sexy dark elf dressed herself in accessories and adorned a silver armor that made her three sizes look more prominent, Elliot stored all the artifacts sprawled on the ground into his subspace with the wave of a hand and ordered her to lead him deeper into the enemy base.
“Right away?” She asked, somewhat bewildered.
Elliot replied, “Yes, the faster, the better.”
Freya didn’t think the same, and she had a reason not to rush straight towards the enemy.
“Wouldn’t it be better for me to return, fool them into thinking that I have taken care of the intruder? And after their guards lower and they fall asleep, you can sneak in, and we will easily get rid of them all.” Freya explained her plan to him.
Her plan was good, but there were plot holes in it.
The first was that she didn’t have the slave mark on her. If there were someone among the enemies who could tell whether one was a slave to the spider queen or not, Freya would end up dead.
The second was that Elliot was too strong, and his strength made him confident that he wouldn’t lose.
The last was that he didn’t have time.
“No, I can’t wait that long,” Elliot said, a serious look on his face.
Freya wondered why he didn’t have time, so she asked, “Why are you in such a hurry?”
“I have an appointment with my future wife today, and I can’t afford to miss it,” Elliot answered truthfully.
Everything finally made sense to Freya. He wasn’t interested in her because the image of another girl filled his mind.
Elliot didn’t flirt or seduce a beauty like Freya, who could make a thousand heads turn just by existing because of Lisa.
He wanted to help Lisa out, make her own him another favor, and get together with her instead of seducing more girls into his harem.
Freya’s heart broke. The man stole her first kiss, but his heart belonged to another. She didn’t want to be the third wheel in their life, so she respectfully took a step back. She knew about the concept of a harem, but she was disgusted with it and didn’t want to partake in such a mess, even if it meant giving up on the man who stole her first kiss.
“My lord, let’s go.” She said in a calm voice as she moved ahead.
Elliot didn’t find a single trace of her earlier sweetness in her voice.
He followed after her.
They were both running at high speed and covering dozens of meters every second.
After taking many turns, Elliot and Freya met a dead end.
“Did you take the wrong turn?”
“No, I am sure it’s the right one.”
There was a wall in front of them and a wall to each of their side.
The only way left was to go back the way they came from, but that was what it looked like to people unfamiliar with this place.
Freya, who had lived here for many years, knew that the wall in front of her was the path to the 9th floor.
She went up to the wall and pressed her hand in the center of it. Her actions activated a secret mechanism of the wall.
A swirling hole opened up in the center of the hold. Elliot realized that it was a hidden doorway.
“My lord, before we head to the next area, please let me make some things clear to you.”
“Go on.”
“After taking this portal, we will arrive at the edge of area 9th, which is a vast desert that has many Sand Eaters. These monsters can sense vibration and energy fluctuations from a hundred miles away.. So, the moment we appear there, they would be alerted and will come darting towards us and most likely attack only you as they are familiar with me but not you.”
