Awakened: Evolving to Godhood - Chapter 340 SUBLIME EMPEROR MAKES A MOVE A
Among the many unholy elves, one of them dropped his weapon.
The sound of her staff hitting the ground reverberated throughout the surrounding. Many pairs of eyes turned towards the source of the voice.
They saw that it was Fey, a friend of Freya, who had dropped her weapon.
“I surrender.” She declared with a tired look on her face.
Freya saw that her words had at least affected one person and that her persuasion hadn’t gone to waste. She felt so happy that the tears in her eyes came out. They were tears of joy but also sadness.
“You! Are you going to betray us when we should be sticking together! Have you lost your mind?!” Bella, the girl who served a whore but refused to believe it and cursed others as one, screamed at Fey like a banshee.
Fey, with a solemn expression on her face, turned around to look at her and said, “I’m tired of serving her, doing dirty deeds for her. Why must we kill in her name? And for how long are you all going to sacrifice our people to please the queen? Our ancestors made the mistake of joining hands with her, causing the world to condemn us all, shun us, and humiliate us, leaving us with no choice but to come here to seek asylum. But even since then, had we done anything better than our ancestors? Nope, I think we have done worse, far worse. We do dirty deeds for the spider queen and lose our people while doing so. How many of us were there a decade ago? Ten thousand! But now, only us several hundred are left! Our reputation, it’s already beyond saving. But we can save our race. We can start anew someplace. Why must we keep on walking towards the flame, towards our destruction, when there is another way, a better way?!”
Fey turned around and started walking towards Freya.
With her backs turned to her people, she said to her people, “I hope you will be sensible and come towards a better future.”
She had only taken three steps towards Freya when an immense amount of pressure acted on her, immobilizing her and breaking her down. She was merely a magic grandmaster, and so she couldn’t endure the energy pressure of a Magic King. The moment it acted on her, she fainted, losing her consciousness. The sound of a weapon cutting through the air reached Fey’s ears. Freya, Elliot, and the rest of the people saw that Adam had attacked Fey. His sword was going straight for her throat. He had no intention of sparing a bitch who had betrayed the spider queen.
Adam had made his move too stealthily. Elliot was too far, so was Freya; thus, both of them couldn’t help Fey. None of the unholy elves had any intention of helping her. Fey was out cold, so she could not defend against his ruthlessness either.
‘I’ve seen many fools but none as crazy as him. I don’t know how crazy a person needs to be to think that they can kill a person in front of me. He serves the spider queen. He acts as the leader of the dark elves but lets them die. He is crazy for sure. No matter how crazy he is, he still doesn’t have the right to kill a person in front of me.’ Zerrick was a bit impressed by the little girl, Fey, who was six hundred years old but still far younger than him.
He moved his lips, silently chanting a few words, and before Adam’s weapon reached Fey’s neck, Zerrick pulled out his ability empire. The surrounding didn’t change, nor did anything magnificent happen. No one realized that a sublime emperor had used “second ultimate move.” Of course, Elliot realized it because many notifications popped up in his mind, telling him that he was inside of a sublime emperor’s kingdom.
With a thought, faster than anyone’s eyes could see, Zerrick teleported Fey into the dimension inside of his body. His body contained a small continent. It had oxygen, water, a source of light, and a mystical source that could imitate night back on Earth. In there, Fey was safe and secure. And she gently landed on thick grassy ground, not waking up at all.
At the same time, before anyone could realize that Fey was no longer there and what they were looking at was just her afterimage, Zerrick created an illusion of Fey.
Adam’s weapon beheaded the fake Fey.
Everything seemed so real that the onlookers really believed that it was Fey who had died!
Elliot, too, nearly believed it. But then again, he thought that Zerrick wouldn’t have activated his Ability Empire just for fun and that there must be a reason behind it, such as saving Fey. So, he inspected Fey’s corpse, this time using the power of his godly eyes of wisdom.
[An illusion created by the sublime emperor of space.]
His lips curled up.
Fey wasn’t dead, he realized. And he concluded that Zerrick had somehow pulled her out of this mess of a place.
“Look at this headless hypocrite carefully! If anyone dares to betray the spider queen, you will become just like it! Don’t ever forget who had been providing for us till now! Without her, would we still be alive?! Outside, the high elves and the lizards hunt us down. You’ve seen it for yourself! What she said was all lie!” He pointed his sword at Freya and shouted even vehemently, “These two witches are bewitching her us to betray her! One is dead, but the other is still alive. Kill her before more of us fell prey to her black magic!”
His hypocritical words worked like a charm.
The unholy elves behind him could tell that their numbers would dwindle if they fought Freya and the mem beside her. Win or lose, they will suffer a significant loss. What Freya and Fey had said had moved their heart. They wanted to give up. However, Adam’s timely actions had suppressed their rationality.
On top of that, it induced a maximum level of patriotism in their bones. The spider queen was their goddess and monarch. The unholy necropolis was their country. They would do everything to stop it from taking over by an outsider!
Elliot rolled his eyes at Adam as he was a bigger hypocrite than him, Leonardo, and other magicians.
As Freya’s pretty eyes reddened, she cursed Adam and his nine generations. She spewed out such insult that even Elliot was shocked to hear them,
“Barks of a dog.” Adam snorted.
He raised his hand and shouted, “Emperor Slaying Arrows out!”
After he said that, the several hundred or so unholy elves dropped their staff and pulled out a crossbow from their spatial storage device. They held it in their hand and started loading a black as ash arrow in it.
Elliot found that these arrows could shatter energy as easily as a hot knife passing through butter. They came equipped with a unique metallic spearhead. It only had three properties. The first was to be immune to energy. The second was extreme sharpness. The third was extreme sturdiness. As for speed, the crossbow was able to release them at the speed of thunder! How fast was that?! It was as fast as him!
He could dodge them, but Freya would die for sure.
He decided to help her out.
Elliot pushed Freya towards him. She could her face buried in the crook of his neck once again. But the hug didn’t last for even a second as he disrespectfully threw her over his shoulder, carrying her in the same way a person would carry a bag of rice!
“My lord, What are you doing?!” Freya felt so ashamed that she tried to wriggle her way out of his grasp.
Pa!
Elliot slapped her butt, making her feel even more embarrassed.
He angrily shouted, “If you dare resist, I will slap your butt again! So, stay still!”
Freya turned red because of shame and embarrassment.
Zerrick stood on his spot and watched at them silently. There was an amused expression on his face. He nearly laughed and revealed that they didn’t need to worry about anything, that there was no need for Elliot to carry Freya on his back.
While they were bickering, the unholy eves finished loading their crossbows.
“Aim!” Adam shouted.
