Awakened: Evolving to Godhood - Chapter 341
The unholy elves around Adam followed his command and aimed their crossbow at Freya and her teammates.
The spearhead of each arrow shone in a bright luster, highlighting its sharpness and telling Elliot that even he might not necessarily block them.
Elliot knew that the arrows posed an extreme danger to him.
The main property of the arrows countered his essence of life and everything he could make out of it.
His A-ranked supernatural ability wasn’t strong enough to bear the frontal assault of the arrows, either.
Thus, Elliot knew he only had one choice, and that was not to have the arrows land on him.
‘It is better to avoid them.’ Elliot thought.
The next moment, he felt someone’s hand on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Zerrick, who had a confident smile on his face.
With a smug and lazy expression, he said, “Leave it up to me and just relax and watch the show.”
“Sure,” Elliot blinked his eyes and, a moment later, replied with a nod.
Right at that very moment, Adam, who was standing opposite to them, shouted, “Release.”
The unholy elves pressed the trigger attached to their crossbow. Hundreds of arrows shot out from an equal number of crossbows. Each one was fast, not slower than a strike of lightning. But each one was a hundred times more disastrous than lightning. All of them moved towards three people. Elliot was standing beside Zerrick. Freya was lying on him like a bean bag. Her tummy was pressing on the sturdy bone of his shoulder. Even under extreme threat, her face was red from embarrassment, and her heart was beating faster than a racing car moving at top speed.
As the arrows reached them, Zerrick said a single word, which was… “Halt!”
As if this word of his carried the might of the heaven and earth, a power so imposing that everyone must submit to it, the arrows came to a sudden halt.
Under the dazed eyes of the many unholy elves, the arrows stopped before Elliot and the others. It was as if an invisible force, which they could not sense or see, had forcefully immobilized them.
Adam’s eyes widened like saucers, and the jaws of many of his subordinates threatened to drop to touch the ground. What the heck were they seeing?! They couldn’t believe it! How could a man even stop so many emperor-slaying arrows with a single word?! Even Magic Emperor had to scamper like rats in front of these arrows! The spider queen, their goddess, had given up ten of her resource planets, almost financially crippling herself, to obtain these arrows! Yet, a man had so lazily and easily stopped them!
The scene was so stunning that they received the shock of their eyes.
They rubbed their eyes red, but the truth before them didn’t change the slightest.
What just happened didn’t make any sense to them, but it did make sense to Elliot.
The man beside him has used the unique effect of his ability empire, which allowed him to control everything, from the air and earth to space within the boundary of his empire, to make them come to a halt. He could also control humans and beasts, all living beings. Elliot knew that. However, the problem was that it would cost him a lot to control living beings or anything that could put up a resistance. The stronger the being, the stronger the opposition they could up, the more costly it would become for him. That was why he hadn’t controlled any unholy elves since the beginning of the battle. It was not like he couldn’t do it, but he just didn’t want to waste his energy on mere ants that he could kill with the least of his efforts.
“Flip.”
The unholy elves speechlessly stood in their spot, bewilderment vivid in their eyes that reflected the sharp end of the Emperor-Slaying Arrows.
All the arrows in the air were no longer facing their enemies.
Instead, they had become their target.
“Kill!” Zerrick uttered this word in a ruthless and aggressive tone.
The arrows charged towards the unholy elves with such speed and ferocity that they shattered the space itself.
They entered the shattered space and teleported an inch away from taking away all the breath in their flesh in less than a millionth of a second.
The poor unholy elves didn’t even have a chance to put up a defense, run away, or make sense of the situation before the Emperor-slaying arrows penetrated their Magic Grandmaster and Magic Lord’s body, yanked them off the ground, and shot them backward, straight towards the wall.
Elliot saw many unholy elves getting nailed into the wall, including Adam. He thought that it was a fruitful end for a hypocrite that was ready to sacrifice himself and everything he cared about and was responsible for in the name of the spider queen just because he was infatuated with her, a birthing machine that couldn’t live without a cucumber in between her thighs.
The rest, well, he had given them a chance, but they refused to accept it. So their death was solely on their cowardice, ignorance, stubbornness, refusal to change their ugly ways, and stupidity.
Also, he was impressed with Zerrick and his cruelty.
No!
Zerrick wasn’t cruel or a sadist.
Elliot thought that such mundane words with lowly meaning didn’t define the man beside him.
To call him human or mortal was also wrong.
A sublime emperor like him was way above everything in the universe.
Sublime Emperors were like kings, and they considered every below their stage an ant. It wasn’t because of their arrogance or pride, but because they were literally so strong that they could K.O Magic Emperors and Magic Kings in the same way a mortal could stomp an ant to death.
Elliot congratulated himself for not messing with a sublime Emperor and humbling himself a while ago. Otherwise, even ten of himself would have met their end at the latter’s hands!
