Awakened: The Spirit King! - Chapter 4
Lord Xie Yang was attentive to his sweet wife. His eyes squinted as he noticed that she was eating slowly and not eating much even though she would be doing the opposite to fill her empty stomach.
“You are too bony.” As her husband, it was his job to make sure that she was well fed. He picked up some pieces of meat, dumpling, and veggies with his chopsticks and placed them on her plate. “You should eat more meat.”
Lin Hua was round-eyed as he had filled her plate with too many things.
“I am not as slim as you think.” She said, “What if I become fat after eating so much and you stop liking me?”
“That won’t happen.” Lord Xie Yang said as he wrapped his hands around her waist and lightly caressed it.
Lin Hua felt ticklish and giggled.
“Lord Husband, please don’t do that.” She complained so sweetly that it enticed him into teasing her more.
He leaned toward her, positing his lips next to her ears.
As he breathed out, his hot breath brushed against her ears, making her feel as if her ears were on fire.
“You’re too thin here; I can even feel your bone.” Lord Xie Yang said while touching her flat tummy. His hand traced upwards, and another complaint came out of his mouth, “Here too.”
Lin Hua placed down her chopsticks in a hurry and stopped his naughty hand from going up to her chest. “Stop teasing me.”
Lord Xie Yang rested his naughty hand on her tummy and teasingly smiled, “I will if you promise to help me.”
“Help you? With what?” Lin Hua asked.
“Do your duty as my wife and help please me.” He said with a seductive look in his eyes.
Lin Hua nodded without thinking even once as she had fallen for his charms. But then, she remembered what her mother had said, such things should only be done at night and not too much as it was unhealthy. Thus, she immediately started shaking her head furiously!
“Ah! We should not be doing that, especially since the sun is still out there.” She said.
“Alright, alright.” Lord Xie Yang agreed. “How about we do what we forgot to do last night.”
“W-what did we forget?” She asked, confusion vivid in her eyes.
She was slow on the uptake and didn’t know that her husband was as sly as a fox who could use ten thousand sentences to say the same thing repeatedly.
“We forgot to join our bodies into one, ah.” Lord Xie Yang kissed her cheeks right after saying these words.
“B-But we should not do that, especially not at this time of the day.”
Lin Hua placed her finger on his lips, expressing she wanted him to stop, but he had no intention of letting this chance of teasing her go so quickly.
“Really?” He asked.
Before she could reply, his tongue stretched out from his mouth and licked her neck.
“Ah!” A shameful moan escaped her opened mouth. It was sweet and sounded like an enticing melody that urged Lord Xie Yang to tease her more.
“Your mouth is more honest than you, Hua’er.” He said her name as affectionately and gently as he could, making her feel his love for her.
Lin Hua felt so embarrassed that she used her petite hands to cover the cause of her sorry state—her mouth.
Lord Xie Yang didn’t pity her, and his naughty tongue went up to her slender, frail neck and reached towards her blushing ears. Lin Hua felt a burning heat on every place his tongue touched her. Then, he pulled her closer, making her sit on his lap. His warmth embraced her whole. She felt an inexplicable feeling. There was this emptiness in her that was getting filled by his warmth, making her feel light-headed and at home, a safe place which she could truly call her own. She liked this warmth of his, and that’s why she didn’t stop him. Instead, she indulged in his touch.
Lin Hua was a sensitive person, but she was feeling extremely sensitive right now, and all of her senses had sharpened. She heard the sound of footsteps coming from outside their room, and they were coming closer towards their room.
“We should stop.” Lin Hua said to Lord Xie Yang, who was kissing her cheeks and inching closer to her lips.
“But I have just started.” He wanted to take her first kiss, then stop and feed her with his hands.
“Someone is coming. If they see us like this, it will be too embarrassing for us.” Lin Hua whispered, her voice as little as a mice squeak.
“We aren’t doing something sinful, so what’s the need to hide it from others? Let them see, see how much this lord loves and favors his wife.” Xie Yang said and kissed the edges of her lips.
Right at that very moment, the sound of footsteps stopped. Two people were standing behind the slidable door. One of them was an aged man, a doctor here to check on Xie Yang. The other was a middle-aged man with hawk-like eyes. He was City Lord Yong, Xie Yang’s Father! They didn’t enter and merely stood there.
“Cough, cough, my son, are you busy?” City Lord Yong asked.
Xie Yang replied shamelessly, “Yes, dad, I am busy!”
Lin Hua pinched him and glared at her shameless husband, who was lying to her father-in-law. Lord Xie Yang turned silent under his eyes.
“No, father, he is not. Please come in.” Lin Hua said after crawling out of his lap by using her hands and sitting next to him.
“Then, excuse my intrusion.” City Lord Yong said before opening the door and entering the room of Lord Xie Yang and his wife.
He looked at his son for whose sake he had crossed a hundred mountains and walked a thousand miles to find a cure or a way to extend his life with gentleness and fatherly love.
“You seem healthier than before.” A smile crept upon his face when he saw that his son was sitting with his back straight and his head held high.
Lord Xie Yang looked back at his father, and his eyes revealed immense gratitude. If it weren’t for him, then there was no chance he would have lived till today or married Lin Hua, who was carrying a crystalized piece of his soul. He was thankful for this father of his, who, even in this era where parents abandoned their wastes son to free themselves from worries, went high and low to keep him alive.
“It’s all thanks to you and Lin Hua.” Lord Xie Yang said in a voice full of emotions.
“It’s good that you’re feeling; it’s really good.” City Lord Yong said, feeling immeasurable happy.
The son he treasured more than his life had lived past the day of his death and miraculously became healthy! It was bound to make him happier than he ever had been!
