Awakened: The Spirit King! - Chapter 46
The gold and silver taels came out of the magic pouch scattered on the floor, and Xie Yang counted that there were at least ten thousand of the latter and five thousand of the former on the floor.
He stored them all in his inter-spatial ring before taking the jade bottles out of the magic pouch.
He saw that some of them contained different things in them, but one thing was common, they were all ingredients needed to make alchemy pills.
He opened each jade bottle to see what was inside.
After going through them, a smile appeared on his face. It wasn’t like the ones he would show to his enemies before killing them or an unfeeling smile that he would usually adorn on his face to look more welcoming and easy to approach to other people. He was genuinely feeling happy from the bottom of his heart.
There were three reasons behind his happiness.
The first was that he had found out that the merchant had used these ingredients to create low-quality healing pills and spiritual energy recovery pills.
He had found out about this piece of information from the alchemy recipes he had obtained by opening two of the many jade bottles.
The second was that he had found Banshee Bamboo sticks, Medusa Barberries, and evil bones among the many ingredients. The first two were two of the four ingredients he needed to make the breakthrough pills, and the last one, black bone, was one among the three things he needed to make spiritual Meridian opening pills.
Xie Yang’s smile was profound, not only because he was close to gathering ingredients for two different pills but also because of the information he had just found out.
The last reason for his happiness was that he found out that spiritual cultivators of today used Medusa Barberries and Banshee Bamboo Sticks to make healing pills as they didn’t know that these two ingredients were two of the four main components to refine breakthrough pills.
They also used black bone as one of the many ingredients to refine a spiritual energy recovery pill, which meant that they didn’t know that one could use it as one of the three main components to make the spiritual meridian opening pills.
The two pills couldn’t compare to breakthrough pills and spiritual meridian opening pills in terms of value and effect.
Xie Yang could tell that he would benefit significantly if he started producing the latter two and selling them in the market.
Xie Yang had also found out that spiritual cultivators knew that the beasts had spiritual meridians, but they didn’t know that they also had them.
The concept of humans forming sealed spiritual Meridians in their bodies after becoming spiritual cultivators was foreign to the people of the Glorious Sun Empire.
In this day and age, he was most probably the only one who knew that!
He could profit from that.
Since he had many enemies because of only existing, he knew he would have to keep his identity a secret while selling mythical pills and publicizing ideas no one had heard of.
Still, things will change after he becomes powerful.
Once he has enough strength to protect himself and his family and uphold the sky of the empire with one hand, making it public that he was the hand behind the pills and he was the one who introduced the concept of human having spiritual meridians will earn him fame and honor and make his entire family reach unprecedented heights of glory.
Most importantly, after it becomes certain that cultivators possessed spiritual meridian and opening them would benefit them immensely, he would earn mountains of gold taels by simply selling spiritual meridian opening pills!
Thinking about what could happen in the future and becoming happy won’t lead him anywhere and won’t make his thoughts a reality either; Xie Yang knew that. Instead, only through hard work would he get to the point where he would be rich and famous and make his father and family proud.
He needed to work hard!
He hurriedly sorted out this mess of a study room.
Xie Yang stored the ingredients in his inter-spatial ring. Except for the ones he needed, he planned to sell all of them. He knew of the place where he could sell them too, and that place was in the cloud city, his father’s territory.
He stepped out of the study and went to find the Steward.
He already had one of the three ingredients he needed to help Lin Hua. As for the remaining two ingredients, he asked the steward to search for them and be on the lookout for them. Xie Yang was rich now. He had around ten thousand gold taels in his private stash. Although they weren’t a lot, and he could hardly get a spiritual object by using them, they were enough for him to obtain the moon dew and the silver grass.
He gave the steward ten gold taels as a tip for helping him.
The steward was super happy!
Xie Yang was sure that If they were to appear on the market, the steward would immediately try to get them for him.
If, for some reason, he couldn’t get them, he would inform him immediately, and Xie Yang would give it his all to get them.
After talking with the steward, he moved towards his room.
He wanted to go out and stroll the city with his wife, and while doing that, he would not only sell the ingredients he didn’t need to the famous Silver Dragon Clinic but also try to acquire information about the things he wanted to know.
He hadn’t reached next to his room but could already hear gentle, feminine voices coming from inside.
“Is this good enough?”
“You will need to practice for a while longer to get these characters right.”
Lin Hua: Sad puppy face.
“Don’t feel down. It’s only been some minutes since I started teaching you, but you’ve already improved a lot. You’re already better than most literate people I have met back in the academy.”
“Beautiful sister, am I really as good as you say?” Lin Hua asked while looking at her teacher with big bright eyes full of innocence.
Zhang Xiu could say that she understood why Xie Yang treasured his wife. She had a beautiful place but even more beautiful eyes. As they say, eyes are the window to a person’s soul. She was sure that her soul was as wonderful as her eyes. Heck, if she were a man, she would have cherished her like jade too.
“Forgive me, my lady. I was not being honest with you,” Zhang Xiu said, her narrowed eyes expressing seriousness. “You’re even better than me. It took me half a day to stop messing around and be serious about learning to read and write, but you’ve been serious from the get to, and for this very reason, you’re better than the spoiled children of other families and me.”
“I’m afraid you’re praising me too much.”
Lin Hua knew of her own capabilities.
She was already 18 years old but still didn’t know how to read and write, so she considered herself unworthy of her husband.
She wanted to become literate so that she wouldn’t embarrass him in the future.
That was why she was giving her all from the very start and being attentive to everything ber teacher said.
She didn’t know that her teacher would praise her so much for her negligible efforts.
Her ears turned red from shyness and happiness.
“Practice makes perfect. No one was born knowing how to read and write. As long as you can keep practicing, you will get these characters right.” Zhang Xiu said while staring at her student.
“Thank you for encouraging me, beautiful sister..” Lim Hua said with a smile.
