Awakened: The Spirit King! - Chapter 99
Xie Yang wouldn’t have offered the blacksmith to work for him if his character was innately nasty, but that wasn’t the case. Moreover, he saw the will to change himself for the better in Chen Wei Qi’s eyes and felt it through his actions, so he decided to give him a chance and a stage to prove his worth and put his talent to good use.
One thing was bugging Xie Yang, and Xie Ye could see a troubled and thoughtful expression on his face.
“What is troubling you, young master?” Xie Ye asked.
“Nothing much.” After saying this, Xie Yang looked at the sky, and the thoughtful look on his face deepened. Although he hadn’t agreed to anything yet, Xie Yang was confident that he would come to serve him. But when news about a rank-three blacksmith leaving the Blue Moon City and going to the Cloud City to work for him spreads, the Duan family would feel offended. After all, their pride will be hurt knowing that Che Wei Qi chose a boy not even in his twenties over them!
“Should I be afraid of the Duan Family retaliation because I poached a talented blacksmith from their land?” Xie Yang asked Xie Ye after they reached halfway back home.
As if he had heard something amusing, Xie Ye smirked. He quickly hid it as not to let him see it.
“They won’t make trouble for you in master’s land because they know that if the members of their family stepped into the land owned by the Lord of Clouds and acted against you, they wouldn’t return in one piece, literally. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t plot against you or send assassins after you like the others. So you must always be careful when you head out of the manor.”
By that, Xie Ye meant that as long as Xie Yang was in the manor, he was safe, as long as he didn’t leave the realm of the Lord of Clouds, the Duan Family wouldn’t use their army to apprehend him, and that if Xie Yang went anywhere out of the designated safe zones, he would have to prepare himself for fights against assassins and the Duan Family attempt to teach him a lesson.
“I understand.”
Many families wanted him dead, and Xie Yang wasn’t too worried about adding another one on the list.
It was about thirty minutes later that they returned home. The steward helped their tired horses to the stables and let a servant feed them. Xie Ye returned to report some matters to Xie Yong. Xie Yang, on the other hand, stepped into his courtyard, and his arrival alerted the master and her disciple.
“I’m back!” Xie Yang saw Zhang Xiu teaching the national language characters to his wife, who was so sleepy that she was yawning and having tears in her eyes, but he didn’t stop or act awkward, and instead he went up to his wife, sat down beside her and put her on his laps.
Lin Hua felt shy because he hugged her in the presence of her good sister and teacher, but that didn’t stop her from saying, “Welcome home,” and expressing her feelings, “I missed you a lot.”
Xie Yang kissed his cute and bashful wife on the cheek before saying, “I missed you every second I was out there.”
Zhang Xiu’s eyes stung, and she felt full as if seeing them acting lovey-dovey had forced a ton of dog food down her throat!
“Miss Zhang, I believe my wife is tired and needs to rest immediately, so continue your lesson at a later date.” While saying this, Xie Yang looked at her
Zhang Xiu looked at him for only a moment before realizing something and moving her eyes away from his face in shame.
Why was she behaving like this?!
She was a virgin, and although her face was in ruins, she was fine down there and had a wet dream of a man making intense love to her for seven days straight.
That day, after she woke up, the man’s face was a mystery to her.
No matter how hard she tried to recall how it was that she had fallen for, she only saw a blank face.
However, when she saw Xie Yang, his face replaced the man’s blank face in her memories.
Xie Yang noticed that she didn’t dare meet his clear eyes and thought that something was wrong with her.
“Miss Zhang, I think you’re also tired, so I order you to take a few days off.” Xie Yang added.
Zhang Xiu nodded and cupped her hands towards them while saying, “My lord, since you’re here, I will leave her in your good care.”
Zhang Xiu stood up to leave as she didn’t want to see them making out any longer!
Lin Hua wanted her to stay and finish the ongoing lesson, but she suddenly stiffened and became as still as a wooden statue, and the words she wanted to say stopped at the tip of her tongue, and redness suffused her cheeks.
She felt her husband’s finger pressing on her crack!
She met his eyes and understood that he was threatening her.
She gazed into his eyes to make her thoughts clear to him.
‘If I dare pester Zhang Xiu to stay, you will dare to push your finger into me in her presence and make a mess out of me. Is that right?’
Xie Yang gave her an answer by showing her an intense and lustful stare.
‘Yes, darling!’
Zhang Xiu looked at how they were so lovingly and intensely staring into each other’s eyes as if she didn’t exist and secretly felt jealous, bitter, and indescribable feelings.
She was jealous because they made a perfect couple.
She felt bitter from seeing their interaction because no man has ever loved her.
“I will take my leave.”
Zhang Xiu only reached the door when Xie Yang’s words of gratefulness entered her ears.
“Miss Zhang, thanks for working hard to teach my foolish wife.. This one appreciates it.”
