Beast Enchanter - Chapter 6 Wererabbit Army
Chapter 6 – Wererabbit army
After I logged back in, I didn’t jump down or move just yet. I was an unknown area in the south there might be Wererabbits around possibly even stronger ones that I can’t handle. So I stayed crouched down and glanced around when I felt I was in the clear I leaped down and started to make my way back into the forest. I slowly made my way through as I was not to make a lot of noise, but that was hard as there was sticks and dried leaves everywhere breaking under my feet which made me somewhat paranoid.
I felt like I was walking forever until I started to hear a loud drum beating in the distance they sounded like those war drums they sometimes use in games. I wasn’t sure I wanted to find out what it was, but at worst I’ll die right? So I made my way towards them. Thankfully there weren’t many sticks or leaves around anymore, but I should still be careful to watch my every step as Felix told me that monsters in hell mode had a big aggro radius although I had to admit I haven’t experienced random attacks yet.
I stopped moving as I had spotted a Wererabbit there was only 1 and he seemed just to be looking around. I activated quicksteps and ran up to it, It was not expecting to get attacked, and It didn’t react other than look at me. My damage was currently very high, so it only took one hit to kill it, and on my quests, it added a kill. I got a few drops added to my inventory but its just the wererabbit fur like normal there probably just a useless sellable item. I kept moving and noticed that the forest was ending It appeared to be a big clearing.
I looked out from the forest out to see what the noise was as it was close and I saw a few Wererabbits beating what appears to be war drums. The army of wererabbits looked to have one thousand in number, and they were all lined up, but there weren’t only normal wererabbit there was a small group of bigger Wererabbits I had never seen before. They formed a small lined up alongside the temple entrance as if waiting for someone to come out. They were too far away for me to check their stats, but I assumed that I would die If any of them noticed me, so It was probably a good thing.
I decided not to move and stayed in the forest and watch what was going on they appeared to all be bowing before this huge temple that looked like a cat which I found strange, but not too long after a massive Wererabbit walked out fully covered in armor. It was the Wererabbit general I had seen pictures of him, posted by other players on the forums. They started cheering in a language that I couldn’t understand. The general then drew his weapon and yelled something which causes more cheering. After about 15 more minutes of watching the same thing, they started packing their stuff to move out. Lucky for me they left in the opposite direction of where I was hiding I was a bit confused as all of them left and abandoned this place I figure they were going to station some wererabbits here to guard it. I guess they don’t need this place anymore.
I didn’t move in right away I waited for about 10 mins until I was sure they weren’t nearby I then walked up to the temple and very carefully checked every corner I wasn’t sure that there were no Wererabbit. They might have left a few to guard the inside. I glanced inside, and the first thing I see is a long spiral staircase going down I groan at the thought of walking down them all, but I did it took about a full hour.
Once I got to the bottom I look around it was lit up pretty well there were torches everywhere the most noticeable thing was all the walls had pictures. I looked at them trying to figure out what they could mean, but I had no Idea. I walk down the hall looking around there was a lot of places to take turns in here, and I saw lots of the same kind of pictures, but just as I was starting to think there were no Wererabbits I spotted a small group of 5 up ahead, and they had noticed me as well. I used my new skill Quicksteps, to speed my self. I kill them all before they could try and run away. I kept walking until the hall took another right turn and I notice a big black door that was closed up ahead. I walked up to it to check it out, and a notification appears.
‘Ding’
You have found a mysterious locked door it requires three tribal keys do you want to open it?
yes/no
“No”
I didn’t have any keys I wondered what behind this door I suddenly thought of what Elise told me. That she was told, it would be bad for the wererabbit to take over the island as it could bring about a catastrophe. Does this have anything to do with it?. I wonder if the tribal keys are based on races on this island may be the humans, and the stone giants both have one key. Are the wererabbits one of the tribal races as well? There was nothing else down here I was rather upset because now I had to walk back up the stairs and I didn’t really get anything, but at least I know for sure there no more wererabbits, so I don’t have to be careful. It only took me about 35min to walk back up.
I guess I should follow the Wererabbit army they might have been going north to attack the village but just as I was about to follow after them, but then I hear an angry voice right next to me.
“Do you have any how hard it was to find you?”
I turned to look at who I could only assume to be Silica.
“Hey, this means I won right?” I said with a smile
“Your an idiot you know that right? Did you need to go that far just for my challenge?”
“Maybe not but I felt like if I lost you wouldn’t have bothered to teach me anything.”
“That’s not true. As long as your results were satisfactory, I would have trained you.”
“What’s satisfactory to you? I was about to lose, and In fact, I’m positive If you were serious from the start it would have never gotten that far.”
“Well whatever, let’s just get out of here and report back to Elise before she gets pissed off.”
“Sure, I have important news for her anyway.”
She gave me a questioning look “What Important news?”
“The Wererabbit have formed an army, and I think there are marching towards the human village.”
Silicas face paled “Are you positive?”
“Well, not absolutely. I’m lost, I just saw the army march in that direction.” I pointed to where I saw they leave.
“*Sight*that’s not north that’s to the east that means there attacking the stone giants, but they wouldn’t be able to kill them. So why are they attacking them?”
“How would I know? I just chanced upon this place but shouldn’t we get going?”
“Yes, your right for once we need to report to Elise right away.”
Silica leads me back to the campsite and lucky it seems her snappy attitude had gone away a bit. Upon arriving, we went straight for Elise’s tent we ignored the guards told them it was urgent, so they stepped aside.
“Elise we need to move out something big has happened.”
“Oh? Your back you were out all night, did you two elope?”
“No, and I don’t have time for your stupid jokes Elise you need to stop reading those strange books.”
Elise had a slightly panicked look on her face which was kinda funny considering her usual calm demeanor “Wha, what books I don’t know what you mean.” as she tried to play it off.
“Please Elise we both know what I’m talking about, but that’s not important right now. Newbie over here spotted an army of Wererabbit along with the general heading towards the Stone giants campsite.”
Like a flick of the switch, Elise returned to her usual self
“Hmm.. that is grave news they must be aiming for the key.”
“Oh, do you mean the tribal key?” I said
Elise was apparently shocked I knew this.
“How do you know of the Tribal keys?”
“I saw the door, and it told me about them, but I don’t much about them.”
Elise stood up and yelled at me”You found the door!? Where was it!?
I was shocked by her impatience.
“It was back where Silica found me at the bottom of a cat temple and also where I saw the army of Wererabbits march from.” I quickly told her
Elise took a deep breath trying to calm herself “This is bad if they’ve already found the door they’ll be looking to steal the keys from the other two tribes as there current power on this island is far too weak compared to the wererabbits.
There was an awkward silence in the tent I didn’t like it, so I decided to ask a question.
“Are we going to go help the Stone Giants?”
Elise gave a resigned sigh “I guess we don’t have a choice we can’t let the key fall into their hands, Silica go with him to help the stone giants. I will tell our men to get ready as it will take a while, so I’m sending you two ahead to deliver the news.”
“Wouldn’t it be faster if I just go by myself?” Silica stated as a matter of fact.
“It would, but the stone giants wouldn’t trust you which is why we need Dragonsong a chosen to go with you as they trust his god.”
“Fine, just don’t slow me down newbie or I’ll leave you behind.”
‘Ding’
-Quest support the giants-
*The Wererabbit are marching towards them aiming to take the tribal key which has unknown power you need to stop them.*
*Warn Stone giants of the incoming army and wait for reinforcements*
*Kill 50 Wererabbits, Kill Wererabbit general*
*Reward Wererabbit generals Pants*
*Reward Wererabbits generals Chestplate*
*Reward Wererabbts generals Earring*
After that, we left the campsite and ran all the way there. We didn’t stop until we got to the Stone giants Mountainside which left me trying to catch my breath trying to keep up with her.
There was a giant guarding the entrance I walked up and said
“I have urgent news I need to speak to the chief.”
“Speak to Chief? Very well chosen and friend… follow me.”
We followed the stone giant inside were the was the Chief sitting like he was last time I was here.
“Chosen you have returned have you done as I requested?”
“No, but I will have the opportunity soon. The Wererabbit army is looking to attack your village we believe they’re aiming for the Tribal key you possess.”
“Tribal key? How did they find out about that the Wererabbit should have lost their intelligence.”
“You mean they weren’t always dumb?”
“No, they weren’t, tieing to rebel against the god who protects our island they had sought a power too strong for them to handle and failed, as punishment our god took their intelligence in hopes they won’t repeat their mistakes.”
“Maybe an intelligent one showed up as they seemed pretty organized to me.”
“That would not be good if their intelligence has returned we don’t possess the strength to go against them. Do you have a plan chosen?”
“Well we have reinforcements getting ready to support us, but it will take some time we need to get everyone ready for an attack and need to hold out until they arrive.”
“Very well chosen I will put my trust in you and ready my brethren.”
