Beastly Fēi That Goes Against the Heaven: Coerced by the Huáng Shū - Chapter 228
“I heard that you are the boss of that Restaurant?” With a snort, Xiao Ye said, looking at Jing Yue coldly.
“Yes, that’s right. I do take charge of the Restaurant.” Jing Yue said, with her head lowered and nobody could see her face.
“Then how are you going to explain the murder case happened in there recently?” Xiao Ye frowned and questioned with anger.
“Your Majesty. It was not a simple murder but a revenge.” Slowly, Jing Yue raised her head. She looking at Xiao Ye directly and added, “A guy broke into my restaurant and killed people, which was not a thing that I could stop as a woman. Besides, as the boss of the restaurant, I couldn’t let the body stay there and leave it alone, so I threw it out.”
“Nonsense!” Xiao Ye suddenly burst into anger, “It was clear that the guy broke into your place and found you some trouble but he was killed by the people in the restaurant in the end.”
“Your Majesty! It’s not true!” Jing Yue cried, bending herself down to the ground, “None of them dared to touch the saber except for the cook who used the knife for cooking, let alone to kill the person with it, and neither did I. Please trust me! Your Majesty”
“Oh? Now tell me what the murderer looked like? What kind of weapon did he use and tell me the whole crime! Tell me all you had seen!” Xiao Ye opened his mouth and ordered in a chilling voice.
“I can’t remember it. It was quite a mess and I was so scared. All I knew was that a man in grey cloth wearing a bamboo hat which covered his face killed that guy with an arrow. As for how he made it, I have no idea!” Jing Yue said in a tearful voice, but the words she said couldn’t explain anything at all.
After all, all the swordsmen in this world had the bamboo hat covering on their heads and wore a long gown. It seemed that Jing Yue had answered the Emperor what she had seen but actually, she told nothing useful.
“Your Majesty, I thought she was trying to make up a story so that she could clear her guilt of the charge.” Fu Ruoqing, who kept watching Jing Yue silently all the time, suddenly interrupted casually while her eyes shone oddly.
“Imperial Consort Fu. I swear by almighty God that I tell the truth. You can send someone to ask witnesses on the site. They all saw what happened on that day. I didn’t lie.” Jing Yue’s heart trembled lightly after hearing Fu Ruoqing’s words. She bowed down and said.
“Jing Yue, I heard that everyone in the Restaurant was chosen by you. Surely, all of them will stand by your side when people ask.” Fu Ruoqing said indifferently while her pretty eyes squinted staring at Jing Yue.
“They won’t. And all I said was the truth. I dared not to lie in front of the Emperor.” Ignoring Fu Ruoqing’s question, Jing Yue just kept saying that she was innocent. Xiao Ye’s face was livid with anger but he couldn’t convict her without evidence.
“Your Majesty.” A eunuch ran into Imperial Study suddenly and bowed to Xiao Ye reporting, “The Prime Minister, Jing Zhan came.”
“Jing Zhan? Why did he come?” Xiao Ye thought for a second then he looked at Jing Yue who knelt on the floor with his eyebrows furrowed together and warned, “I need to leave for a moment and you wait here reflecting yourself. I want to know the real truth after I come back.”
“Your Majesty. How about let me help you to question her since you’re busy now.” Fu Ruoqing asked, “We all are girls. Maybe she will tell me something real.”
“Well. You can try it.” Xiao Ye nodded gently and then he stood up walking out the Imperial Study.
Fu Ruoqing bowed down until Xiao Ye left. She stood up slowly and then looked at Jing Yue who knelt on the ground with a squint. A chilling light flashed across her eyes and her red lips curled. With a sneer, Fu Tuoqing waved her sleeves and sat down, ordering coldly, “Hold up your head!”
