Babs put Skylar down to sleep then went down stairs with a monitor in hand. She asked Bella to keep a ear out that she wanted to take a walk in the moon light.

Bella agreed and Babs put on her coat, scarf, hat, and gloves. She walked down the road to a small park and sat down on the swings.

David was parked not far away trying to get the courage to show up at Zane’s home to see Babs.

He watched her go to the park so he got out and followed.

“Is this seat taken?” He said pointing to the swing next to Babs.

“Doesn’t look like it.”

“Babs I’m sorry. I don’t want to lose you and I am willing to prove it.” he said.

She turn to face him but said nothing.

“Growing up I was taught that there was a proper way to act. My father drilled it into my mother and me. Neil thinks this is what caused my mother to go crazy.”

She turned back to watch the moon.

“After my mother divorced my dad I learned to be a little more of a free spirit. The structure was still there but I learned to be more relaxed. When I would visit my father I would be punished and had to take lessons on how to be a proper Cameron.”

She looked down at her feet in rocks.

“I was wrong to try and trick you into following those rules when I did not want to follow them myself. My dad is here in town now. He is at the mansion and when he asked me where you and his grandson was at I was honest with him.”

“Son you look great and the place here is fabulous. Is it your mother’s doing or your wife’s.?” He asked.

“Babs decorated the whole place.” he said.

“Where is your wife and my new grandchild?”

“They are gone.”

“When will they be back. I want to hold the next Cameron.”

“He is not a Cameron and will never be. Babs has filed for a divorce and Skyler will have Beauté as his last name.” David said.

“Why?” his father asked.

“She could not play by the Cameron rules. She wanted to raise Skyler without Nannies and wanted to spend time with her family and not turn into my mother.”

“Then you are lucky you are not saddled with her bas**rd child anymore. I did not like it when you called and told me but I was willing to bear with it for you. I’ll help you find a proper young lady to have a family with.” he said.

“No Dad, I won’t ever ask anyone to marry me again. It’s wrong to make someone live with your rules. The Cameron blood line ends with me because the only one I ever want to have children with hates me now because I tried to trick her into changing.” David said.

“Life has rules and one of those rules is to have off spring. Without it man kind dies. You have a responsibility it have a child to carry on your blood line.”

“No dad, I had the responsibility to stand by my wife and make her happy and I failed at that. Skyler may have been my Nephew but I loved him and rushed home from work just to hold him and see him smile. Neil trusted me to be a father to Skyler. He even has my name as his middle name. Skyler David.”

“I don’t understand. You need to grow up and take responsibility before you regret not having a child.”

“I already regret losing my wife and child. I don’t think you will ever understand what I had to give up for the Cameron family.”

“You don’t think I had regrets. I loved your mother deeply. It took a lot to convince my father to let me marry her. I only had her a few years before she divorce me and took you away from me.”

“Would she have left if she did not have to follow the Cameron rules?” David asked.

“I don’t know, maybe… is there any chance for you and that girl?”

“I don’t know, She is living at her sister’s house. I also know Christmas Eve she will be spening it at the Heart mansion.”

“Heart as in Puissance Entreprise Heart?” his father asked.

“Zane Heart is married to Babs’s younger sister.”

“Then she should have no problem following the rules of upper class if her sister can do it.”

David started laughing, “Bella dances to a different drummer and Zane likes it that way. Bella was in my business classes and a top student. She works hard and takes crap from no one. Her favorite thing to do is read Fairytales. If anything, that is one of the reasons why Babs will not follow your rules.”

“Then tell your wife to be more like her sister. Bring her home and tell me to stay out of your marriage that you are a grown man and your family follows your rules.” His Dad said.

“I wanted to go last night and find you but I needed to get all this clear in my mind so I could make you understand.” he said.

“So what are you saying?” Babs asked.

“I’m saying our family rules are made by you and me and no one else. Babs come home and lets raise Skyler together. The way your Mom and family raised you. I love you and I am beside my self losing you.”

“I heard Oliver punched you.” she said.

“He did”

“You hurt me and did not keep your promise.”

“I know, I regret it. I should have protect you from my father just as I did from my mother.”

“Walk me back” she said.

He stood up and walked next to her all the way back to the mansion.

“I still need a few days to think on what you just told me. I do still love you but I am not sure I can trust you.” She said.

“I understand. I won’t sign the divorce papers till I hear from you and if you can’t forgive me I’ll sign them.” he said.

He pulled her close for a hug and kissed her forehead. She then in the house and said goodnight to everyone and went to bed.
