Leila was very nervous, her heart was beating fast and you could see a drop of sweat on her forehead. She had always been nervous in front of this man, losing her composure like a teenager in front of her crush. She had loved him for a long time and in her eyes, he was the only one for her, she had never loved another man as she loved him.

He was a handsome, gentle and caring man and his beautiful mind and career were the very best things to her, but fate did not allow for the relationship she wanted with him to develop, she loved him deeply but had no time to express it. They met when she was at university, but it did not last long, just a month because after that he was sent overseas for his studies, he did not tell her to wait for him and soon they cut off communication between them which broke her heart into pieces.

When he returned to his country, Leila did not contact him again and he did the same. When she saw him, she would always run away or hide because she did not want to see him. She did not want to confront him, she did not have the courage to listen to what he would say to her, but now it seemed she could not avoid him anymore.

“Doctor Phil, what are you doing in my house this late at night? I did not ask you here and honestly, I don’t want to see you!…”

Phil could only sigh at the stubborn face of the beautiful woman before him, “How long are you going to play this cat and mouse game with me? You know we need to have a serious talk. You have been avoiding me for quite a long time now!”

“I have nothing to say to you, our relationship has been over for years, we have become strangers! What do you want to talk about?” Leila replied, looking at everything but Phil’s light brown eyes.

There was no way she was going to face him, this man had hurt her deeply and she did not want to be hurt again, she knew that just looking at him would make her give in, so she does all she could to avoid his gaze!…

But that was not Phil’s plan as he turned her head towards him, “Why are you avoiding me like this? I know I did you wrong when I did not ask you to wait for me, but I had my reasons. You should at least give me some time to tell my part…”

“Yeah, right, you had your reasons, like playing with your girlfriend…” She scoffed, looking as disgusted as ever.

“What are you talking about? What girlfriend?” Leila looked at him even more mockingly but was a little surprised when she looked into those genuine, surprised eyes.

“Do not play dumb, you know exactly who I am talking about. Weren’t you with that girl? That damn redheaded girl who used to stick to you like a tube of glue back in the day? You made fun of me for a month. Did you enjoy sleeping with me and then throwing me away like an old shirt? All your friends came and treated me like I was a bitch taking pleasure to break a couple, if you had a girlfriend, why did you come to me?”

Phil slapped his head, now understanding what had gone wrong. He knew something must have happened, except that he had not asked her to wait, and now he could get a clearer picture. “I did not go to France with anyone, I was there alone and the other one was in Europe too, but in another country. I have only one girl in my life and that is you, you should know that! I do not know what they told you, but you could have at least come to me and asked for an explanation or whatever, darling. But you chose to trust them and cut off contact with me without warning.

“I thought you… it was your best friend who told me you were with that girl and that you were overseas together, so I trust him… besides, it was you who did not contact me. I waited for a month, but I did not even get a call…” Leila looked genuinely confused now.

“Always so short tempered!!! So you had decided to change your number completely without giving me a chance to contact you afterwards. I was really busy my first month there, you know, getting used to a new environment, a new semester, a new language, it was not easy! Also, I thought it would be good for you to have some space since I was away when your exams were coming up. I wanted you to focus on that and not on me!

When I finally settle myself there, I called you, but you had already changed your number. I called your brother and he told me that you were fooling around with another man and he did not really know what you were up to himself. I did not want to bother you, I did not feel I had the right to, and so I decided not to contact you again…”

Leila cursed Elliott deep in her head ‘the little shit! He will sure get my revenge’, she was a little embarrassed, she did not know he knew what she was up to after he left! “I did not know… I mean, he was just a friend… we did not…”

Phil smirked and seemed amused at her reaction, “Why do you feel guilty, you just told me we were just strangers, why are you trying so hard to explain…”

Leila was angry at herself, by her response she had lost this battle, but she could not back down now, that would be too embarrassing “I am not trying to explain, I am just telling the truth! Besides, we do not have a relationship now because I misunderstood the situation, I sincerely apologise!” She looked at him and made a small bow “There, now everything is clear, you can go…”

Phil just shrugged, gave her a sexy smile and decreased the distance between them “Who said we do not have a relationship? As far as I can remember, we have never broken up, darling…”

” Yeah, but you did not tell me to wait for you either, so it’s the same thing. So thank you for coming, you can go.” Leila was starting to get really pissed off, but at the same time, a little embarrassed for mistaking him all those years.

She stood up and was about to go to her room when a large, strong hand grabbed her by the waist and brought her back to the couch where she now sat on Phil’s lap. She was surprised by his gesture and wanted to break free, but once again he was too strong for her and she could not budge.

“What the fuck are you doing? Let go of me!” Leila shot, trying to break free by any means necessary!

“I am not done yet, so stop struggling and listen to me!” he said in a commanding voice, getting her to calm down a bit.

“I have nothing else to say to you. Let me…” she whispered before being unexpectedly interrupted as her lips were closed by two beautiful lips. Her eyes snapped open as she was surprised by his gesture, how dare he! She wanted to back away, she desperately wanted to escape from this ambiguous situation she did not want to find herself in the same situation as years ago, but it was already too late, he was already tenderly invading her mouth with his deft tongue and sweet plump lips. Her body, which had once felt its most intense pleasure with the man, immediately recognised his taste and without even knowing it, she was already passionately returning his kiss, causing him to deepen the kiss and go from a slow kiss to a burning and passionate kiss until they were out of breath.

When they finally ended the kiss, Phil looked at Leila with eyes full of tenderness and hugged her tightly, a hug he desperately craved, the hug he had longed for so long! For years he had wanted to hold her like this, to smell her lovely scent, to feel her warm body melt in his arms, but she always avoided him when he had the chance to see her. He thought she did not love him anymore, that she had already turned the page of their unfinished story until he received a call from Eliott telling him that she had been single since he left and that he was tired of seeing his sister live like this without trying to find her happiness!

Today he came to make sure she still felt something for him, and now he had his answer.

He looked into her golden eyes, tears running down her cheek, he gently wiped them away and gave her a light, tender kiss before pressing their foreheads together, “Do not push me away, darling, I know you still love me and I will never stop loving you!!”
