Becoming a Movie Queen after Transmigrating as the Villain’s Cat - Chapter 35.2
She got a taxi and headed straight to the company building. She had been in the company so many times, but was stopped by the door guard.
“Miss, hey, miss.”
Lin Sifei paused, and pointed to herself, perplexed, “Me?”
“Yes yes yes.” The old door guard brought a notebook and slowly handed it to her, “You aren’t an employee, right, so you need to record when you go in.”
Lin Sifei took the logging notebook and wrote her name, address, and reason for coming to the company.
The old door guard squinted at her, “You are here for our Chair Luo?”
“Yeah.”
“Who are you with respect to Chair Luo?”
“I’m her friend.” Lin Sifei replied with a smile.
“Friend?” The guard looked at her, full of disbelief.
Lin Sifei hurriedly added, “It’s realy, I have her personal number and address, and even her laptop password.”
The guard still had a disbelieving face on, as he couldn’t really verify these claims.
“”
Lin Sifei sighed, “Then could you call Secretary Zhao or Special Assistant Lin down, I’ll tell them.”
The old guard hesitated for a bit, but replied, “Then you come in, I’ll call them down.”
Lin Sifei sat down in a chair in the security office. At least this place had air conditioning, so it was much more comfortable than standing outside.
After the guard made a call, he told her, “I’ve reported it, but our team leader needs to notify people higher up, so just wait.”
Lin Sifei obediently nodded, and after quite a while, Zhao Min ran in, heels clicking on the floor.
Lin Sifei hurriedly stood up and grabbed Zhao Min’s hand, “Secretary Zhao, is Luo Ke at the company right now? I’ve called her a lot of times, but haven’t been able to reach her because her phone is off.”
Zhao Min frowned, “The cooperation with Baylor ran into some issues, so Chair Luo traveled out of the country today, she probably just got off the plane just now.
“Oh, I see.” Lin Sifei sighed, relieved, patting her chest, “That scared me, I thought that something had happened to her.”
Zhao Min swept her eyes over Lin Sifei and stepped back a bit, “Sorry if I offend you, but when did you and Chair Luo meet? I didn’t know that Chair Luo had you as a friend.”
Lin Sifei took a deep breath, took out her phone and dialed her number again, “If you don’t believe then just call Luo Ke.”
She heard the call ring, but unfortunately, the familiar notice came up again, “Sorry, the number you called is unavailable.”
Lin Sifei looked at Zhao Min, surprised, “Why is her phone still off?”
“Wait a moment please,” Zhao Min replied as she took out her phone to message Special Assistant Lin. When he didn’t reply, she messaged the other secretaries and personnel that followed Luo Ke.
“Chair Luo is probably meeting with the people from Baylor right now, since they went straight from the airport, she probably hasn’t had the time to check her phone.” Zhao Min looked at Lin Sifei, “Since Chair Luo isn’t here, why don’t you come find her next time.”
Lin Sifei blinked a few times, thinking how she couldn’t just say that she was locked out of Chair Luo’s house.
“Um, she won’t be gone for too long, right, so I’ll just wait for her.”
Zhao Min smiled, “You’re joking, right, Chair Luo’s business trips outside the country take at least a few days to conclude.”
“But then what about her cat?” Lin Sifei raised her eyebrow.
Zhao Min, not knowing why the person in front of her got angry, replied, “I’ll take care of Chair Luo’s cat, and I’ll bring it here everyday.”
“You?” Lin Sifei observed her from top to bottom.
Zhao Min stood up straighter, “Yeah, I’ve raised a cat before, and Chair Luo specially told me about this before she left.”
Lin Sifei frowned, again holding up her phone, waiting for Luo Ke to reply to her. This woman went on a business trip but didn’t tell her in advance.
Zhao Min became slightly impatient, “Miss, what is your name?”
“Lin Sifei.”
Lin Sifei continued to stare at her phone, and as she just finished her reply, her phone started vibrating.
As she saw who it was, she waited for a few moments, letting it ring purposefully, before finally picking up, “Hello.”
“Feifei, why did you go to the company?”
“What? I can’t come?”
“You can.” Luo Ke laughed.
Lin Sifei pouted disapprovingly, “I blame you, you go on a business trip but you don’t tell me, and I can’t reach you by phone so I was worried.”
Luo Ke, listening to Lin Sifei’s disapproving voice, for some reason, felt her heart relax. “I left you a note on the table, did you not see?”
Lin Sifei fell silent momentarily. Maybe, when she got up, she did faintly remember something left on the table, but she didn’t see it when she became a human, so it might have been blown away when she changed form.
She breathed in and continued to deny it, “Well, I didn’t see it.”
“Okay, that’s my fault,” Luo Ke admitted. “Since I’m not home, I was planning to have Zhao Min take care of you.”
“No need, I can take care of myself. Anyways, Aunt Wu is still coming to cook right, I won’t go hungry.”
Luo Ke still sounded unsure, “Why don’t you go for a night, if you’re uncomfortable you can go back then.”
Lin Sifei was going to pout again when she glanced at Zhao Min and received some inspiration. She did want Luo Ke to interact with a normal family, and Zhao Min had followed Luo Ke quite some time, so they must trust each other. In this case, Zhao Min would be a good comparison.
She covered her phone as she asked, “Zhao Min, are you living at home with your family? How many people are in your family?”
Zhao Min felt odd, being asked such a question, but she replied, “Yes, we do live together, just me and my parents.”
Lin Sifei narrowed her eyes and put on a likeable smile, “Luo Ke, then I will go over to Zhao Min’s house to see how it is, and if I like it I’ll stay.”
“Then do so, give your phone to Zhao Min.”
Lin Sifei handed her phone to Zhao Min, “Chair Luo’s call.”
Zhao Min hurriedly took the phone, “Chair Luo, yes, understood.”
She nodded repeatedly, glanced at Lin Sifei, and gave her back her phone.
“Feifei? I already told Zhao Min, you go back home first, she will go and pick you up later.”
Lin Sifei nodded, and then hastily asked, “What is the password for the door, I don’t know.”
“148,” Luo Ke smiled. “I forgot to tell you, but you could have redone the fingerprint side to include yours too.”
“I don’t know how, maybe when you come back.” Lin Sifei scrunched up her nose.
They stayed on the phone a little longer, Lin Sifei asking about the condition with Baylor. Upon hearing that it wasn’t a huge issue, she let out a breath of relief.
“Then come back early,” she pouted.
Luo Ke smiled. “Okay.”
Lin Sifei reluctantly hung up the call, and smiled, holding her face. Hahaha, she had a feeling that her Luo Ke was about to awaken, give her terrible family a lesson, and head to the top of the world.
And she was going to earn back her movie queen title, and with a chairwoman behind her, start a happy life.
As she thought about this, she became even happier, covering her face with glee.
Zhao Min, standing right next to her, was a little scared and shocked as she saw someone’s smile, so she hurriedly picked up her own phone.
[What is Chair Luo’s relationship with Lin Sifei? Why did they seem so close when they were talkingon the phone? And this Miss Lin right now is smiling like crazy, I’m scared!]
[Special Assistant Lin: Let’s not talk about it, Chair Luo was also smiling when she was on the call, and she was smiling very gently, it scared me to death.]
As Zhao Min read the message, she glanced at Lin Sifei in front of her, who was still very bubbly.
Zhao Min realized she might have just found out about a great secret.
