Becoming a Movie Queen after Transmigrating as the Villain’s Cat - Chapter 40
As Lin Sifei had stated, Xiao Yue was a character that didn’t earn sympathy from the audience as much as Xiao Xing, since the audience could easily interpret her as a white lotus.
Lin Sifei let Feng Xiao choose the scene, giving up her control.
Feng Xiao flipped around the script, all the while peeking at Luo Ke beside her. Although Luo Ke was still working, she didn’t miss Feng Xiao’s peeking, either.
Feng Xiao saw that as well, and smirked, “Then let’s do this scene, since this is the climax for the main female character.”
Lin Sifei took a glance at the script, nodded, and started backing up, opening up some distance between them.
This scene was one where Xiao Yue and Xiao Xing were arguing. Xiao Xing revealed her trauma and hurt, while Xiao Yue wanted her sister to see that they were sisters with a strong bond. Although it seemed like a scene where the female lead would command most of the attention, it was also the scene where it was easy for the female lead to be called a white lotus.
Feng Xiao took in a deep breath and entered the state where she was her own character, her eyes rimmed with red, complaining to Xiao Yue her own bitterness and hurt, how she couldn’t receive love even though she coveted it, how she was envious of how Song Qi’s personality made her unafraid to get what she wanted. She told her older sister of how she lived in a shadow while others lived in the light, because she couldn’t escape the reality of having a blind sister, or herself.
Tears came out instantly, with bitterness, hurt, indecisiveness, but there was no love.
Lin Sifei coldly watched this performance, sighing a little in her heart. Feng Xiao had also raised her gaze, and looked at her somewhat provocatively.
Lin Sifei’s expression didn’t change, but she suddenly raised a hand, caressing Feng Xiao’s face, silently flicking away the tears on her face. Feng Xiao also froze, since this action wasn’t mentioned in the stage directions of the script.
Luo Ke had already raised her head from her work, eyes pinned to Lin Sifei’s face and her hand. She frowned, pursing her lips.
Xiao Yue’s eyebrows were turned upside down in a frown, and her eyes were also red, but she still tried hard to turn her lips up into a smile, “Let’s go home you can tell this all in person to mom and dad.”
Xiao Xing swatted her hand away, “Stop being so fake.”
Xiao Yue’s face fell, “My care for you is real, even though you might think that I’m super fake, but you have to come back with me now.”
“Um,” Feng Xiao raised her hand, “Sister Feifei, you said a wrong line here.”
“I think reasonable changes to the script is fine,” Lin Sifei said as she flipped through the script, “The female lead’s wording needs to be more colloquial and relatable, no one wants to see a regular character in a movie spout a bunch of philosophical stuff.”
She smiled towards Feng Xiao, “Right, little sister?”
Feng Xiao could only awkwardly nod, “Yes.”
“And then?”
Feng Xiao looked towards Lin Sifei, confused, so Lin Sifei pursed her lips, “Didn’t I just say you should see my skills? How do you think I did?”
“It was great,” Feng Xiao pulled her lips into a smile as she peeked at Luo Ke. Just now, she was really looking forward to Lin Sifei’s terrible acting and making the main character into a white lotus, so she didn’t really pay attention to the actual skills used.
Lin Sifei didn’t let go of her, though, “You can go into detail and give me some opinions, since Director Chen didn’t give me any before.”
Feng Xiao’s head started hurting. She didn’t have anything to say, since the main character really didn’t have as great of a characterization as her sister, and only had to put on an innocent face and cry. There was no need for acting skills.
Lin Sifei didn’t miss the arrogance that flashed under Feng Xiao’s eyes and couldn’t help shaking her head in disappointment. She had originally hoped that she could help those younger than her, but with this attitude, this girl had no chance of making it in the circle. Too bad, she actually had some decent acting skills.
“Feifei,” Luo Ke frowned as she stood up, “Are you done? We can go.”
Lin Sifei, seeing how rushed Luo Ke was, hurried over and asked in a low voice, “Did something happen at the company?”
Luo Ke vaguely made an affirming noise as she packed up her documents and laptop.
Lin Sifei quickly bent over and helped her clean up, afraid of pulling Luo Ke down, “If it’s hard for you to deal with just let it go. I have contracts from acting, and I will become popular.”
Luo Ke, seeing her worried expression, as if the company was going to go bankrupt in the next second, couldn’t help but reassure her, “Even if there was a problem, we definitely wouldn’t land there, don’t worry.”
She reached out a hand to ruffle Lin Sifei’s head, comforted. Her cat was so attentive and worried about her, so much better than Feng Xiao.
“One thousand meter dams can fall because of ant holes. You can’t afford to be too full of yourself, you have to be careful.” Lin Sifei chided, afraid that Luo Ke’s confidence would cause her to suffer.
“I’ll remember, don’t worry.” Luo Ke didn’t realize that her words worried Lin Sifei so much.
As they walked into the elevator, Lin Sifei shimmied the laptop case from Luo Ke’s hand, “Your laptop and stuff is pretty heavy, I’ll carry it for you.”
“Then hold it carefully, there’s a lot of important documents in there.”
Lin Sifei nodded with force, her hand even tighter on the case.
Back in the car, Lin Sifei changed back into her cat form, kicking the clothes off and stretching her neck out to the air conditioning vent.
Luo Ke pushed her neck away, “Don’t do that, if you get sick you’ll have to take bad tasting medicine.”
Lin Sifei meowed, turning her watery cat eyes back to Luo Ke. She fluffed out the fur on her body, and then pointed to it with a paw. See, this fur is really thick, you’re mean if you don’t give me air conditioning.
Luo Ke patted flat her fur, “Maybe I should help you shave off all this cat fur.”
Lin Sifei immediately glared at her with big eyes, putting her claws on her exposed arm threateningly. You are missing being scratched, huh.
Luo Ke chuckled, “But I don’t know if you’ll become bald as a human if we shave all your fur, hahaha.”
Very well, you miss it. Lin Sifei spared no mercy and left three red marks on her skin.
Luo Ke took a short breath in because of pain and rubbed her head so hard that Lin Sifei couldn’t stand up straight so she collapsed towards the side.
“Meow!” Lin Sifei put up two paws, ready to pounce.
Luo Ke immediately put both of her hands to the steering wheel, “Don’t go crazy, I’m driving.”
Lin Sifei retracted her claws and narrowed her eyes, until Luo Ke reached a red light and stopped the car. Then, she pounced with claws out.
Luo Ke’s arms received new scratches of honor, which hurt, but when the air conditioning blew over them, they felt weird.
Lin Sifei picked up her phone to type, [When you get there roll up your sleeves.]
“For what?”
[Let all of the employees in the company judge you for being mean to a kitty.]
Luo Ke raised an eyebrow in surprise, “I was scratched by you, doesn’t that mean that you will be judged? Look at what you did.”
She stretched her arm in front of Lin Sifei, making her look at the red marks on her arm.
Lin Sifei did look over them carefully. She used just the right amount of strength to only leave marks, not puncturing the skin. Still, faced with the marks, she felt a little bit bad, starting to reflect on maybe if she did overdo it.
She raised her gaze, peeking at Luo Ke’s expression.
Luo Ke was looking right ahead and focusing on driving, but the corner of her lips held a little hint of a smile.
She didn’t even get angry at this, she has such a good temper. Lin Sifei felt her cheeks heat up as she looked back down and gazed at the marks again, guilty putting her nose and mouth against them.
As her soft nose tip and mouth touched the skin of Luo Ke’s arm, Luo Ke hurriedly drew her hand back. She whipped her head towards the passenger seat, where Lin Sifei was staring at her with her big cat eyes, “Meow?”
Sweet sweet interactions~
I should update all you readers on my update schedule. I’m currently very busy due to my special year in school, and I foresee updating irregularly until early February (see main page). Don’t worry, I will still be posting whenever I finish chapters, just maybe not as regularly (although to be honest, I’ve been also struggling with a normal schedule since school started. Anyways, thank you for understanding, and I will continue to work hard~
