Becoming God of a Dystopian World - Chapter 275: Outside the Inner Hall
‘That sounds familiar.’
Zhao Luo mumbled and tried to look ahead of the crowd to look for the owner of the voice which sounded similar to his ears.
“It’s the Junior Elder.”
Senior Cutie whispered to Zhao Luo.
“The one from the library and the one who healed your legs.”
Senior Cutie added while Zhao Luo stared at him with blank eyes.
“Why are you telling me that? I already know that much.”
Zhao Luo asked him with a confused look.
‘Did he hit his head?’
Zhao Luo looked over the shiny surface of Senior Cutie’s head but couldn’t find a bump that suggested that.
“Hah, I thought maybe you would’ve forgotten about him.”
While awkwardly laughing it off, Senior Cutie turned his face to the front.
“Are you all the ones trying to become an inner disciple?”
The junior elder who was standing in the front face the crowd of disciples, while Zhao Luo was at the other end of the crowd.
Listening to the elder’s voice, he wanted nothing more than to rush to the front and thank him but now wasn’t the time to pay his gratitude.
“YES!”
All the disciples present in the entrance hall answered the Elder’s question at the same time.
“Good.”
The junior elder looked at the energized disciples who were eager to advance and replied with a long-lasting roll of the tongue followed by a nod.
“I hope you all have the required points in your badges!”
“Otherwise, he, hehe.”
The junior elder told them and started laughing mischievously as he didn’t even mention the aftermath of the ones who didn’t have the 100 xin points.
Everyone shuddered since there was no way to check your points but to rely on your memory.
After saying what he wanted, the elder started moving towards the exit of the outer hall, followed by the outer disciples.
Most of the disciples were wearing badges which showed that they were at level nine ‘∆’ of the black rank. The number of such disciples had increased in just a day when Zhao Luo had gone on a mission with Senior Cutie, Xiao Yu, and Pi Hao.
While some were like Zhao Luo who was still wearing the badge showing that he was still at level eight irrespective of the fact that he was the strongest outer disciple at the moment.
After exiting the outer hall the group of 69 disciples followed the elder to the entrance of the inner hall.
“Come forward.”
The junior elder who had stopped at the entrance of the inner hall, suddenly turned around instead of entering while pointing his hand at the disciple who was right behind him.
The disciple slowly moved towards the junior elder who had brought out a silver badge with three marks that were making a triangular shape “∆”.
Zhao Luo who was looking at the front was stunned.
‘So the elder is at the peak of silver rank. Hmm.’
He wondered about how long it will take for him to reach that stage.
He passed his silver badge over the black badge of the outer disciple and then gazed at him.
“Pass.”
“You can enter.”
With his word, the door of the inner hall’s main building opened up and the disciple entered the hall.
The elder and the others looked at his back but the area which had appeared after the door had opened was not only dark but also looked deep as though they were staring into an abyss. The disciple disappeared the moment he took his third step after passing the door.
‘It’s like someone is looking at us from behind this dark space.’
Zhao Luo mumbled as he squinted his eyes towards the space between the door which looked like a curtain but only for the eyes who were standing outside the inner hall.
The elder turned his head back to the group of disciples.
“Next.”
The junior elder looked at another disciple who moved up and repeated the same action of passing his silver badge over the black badge which was on the chest o the disciple.
The junior elder was simply taking the 100 xin points that were in their badge and storing the points in his silver badge.
One by one the disciples kept on entering the inner hall and the nervousness in the air had disappeared after the same action had been repeated many times.
But at 16th disciple turn.
“BOOM.”
A disciple flew out of the space between the door.
‘He is the fourth one to enter the inner hall.’
Zhao Luo still remembered the face of the disciple who had been thrown out now.
“Hah, too much confidence can lead to this. Now go back to outer hall and train well.”
The junior elder looked at the disciple who was lying on the ground while looking at the sky with disappointment filling his eyes and tears which were being forcibly stooped.
He got up and nodded at the junior elder who had just given him harsh advice and started running towards the outer hall while swinging his arms like a girl whose heart had been broken.
After that disciple’s exit, things continued once again, and soon it was Senior Cutie’s turn.
‘So he was the only one who was thrown out.’
Zhao Luo mumbled with a calm look on his face as he stared into the dark space.
‘It will be my turn now.’
After watching the elder nod at the baldy, Zhao Luo moved towards the elder with hurried footsteps. Even before the Elder could call or him, Zhao Luo was already standing in front of him.
“We meet again, young man.”
The elder addressed Zhao Luo, but not as a disciple which would place him a level below him but instead his words showed the mutual respect he had for him.
“Thank you, Elder.”
Zhao Luo bowed his head as he looked sincerely at the elder.
“The last time, I couldn’t greet you properly and I don’t want to miss this chance.”
Zhao Luo told the elder while raising his head.
