Becoming God of a Dystopian World - Chapter 295: The Rare Black Core
While Zhao Luo wobbled, Xin Wang completed his sentence.
“…special vitality pill.”
“Hmm.”
Even though he had already fed Zhao Luo the pill, Zhao Luo still looked exhausted which was something new to him.
“Looks like the pressure was too much for you since you still don’t know how to cultivate your internal energy.”
“But, don’t worry. These vitality pills are especially enhanced in the stomach of a Sand Hog that was specially raised for upgrading the herbal effect by Elder Gay. Just wait till it takes effect.”
Xin Wang laughed while Zhao Luo could feel a hot burning sensation in his body.
The pain that was rising from his almost crushed organs first disappeared then slowly his exhaustion while the feeling of being rejuvenated washed over him.
“WOW.”
Zhao Luo exclaimed as he pulled back his silver hair and looked at Xin Wang.
‘Did the Sect Leader just say that this special vitality pill was enhanced in the stomach of a hog?’
‘No way. I must have heard it wrong.’
Zhao Luo shook his head and looked at Xin Wang before taking two steps back and clasping his fist with his hand and saluting Xin Wang.
“Greetings, Sect Leader.”
Zhao Luo said to Xin Wang who nodded and jumped back on the platform.
“Your will is stronger than steel.”
Xin Wang turned around and looked down from the platform as his eyes lingered over Zhao Luo.
“Thank You, Sect Leader.”
Zhao Luo bowed his head and then looked at the Sect Leader who was still smiling at him.
“But, it doesn’t mean you can’t show it without cursing.”
Xin Wang laughed while Zhao Luo turned red with embarrassment.
While the two talked, Xin Wang flipped his hand again and took out two square pieces that looked big enough to sit on.
“Cushions?”
Zhao Luo mumbled as one of the pieces was thrown at him and he grabbed it reflexively.
“Sit.”
Xin Wang told Zhao Luo as he placed the cushion piece he had, on the floor of the platform he was standing on.
The moment Xin Wang sat on it in the lotus position, Zhao Luo also followed his movements and sat on the cushion he was given.
“Very few people have black cores.”
Xin Wang suddenly told Zhao Luo.
Not only Zhao Luo’s attention was dragged towards his words but also his mind was forced to think upon the thing he had heard from the beautiful Senior Elder regarding the black core.
“But, isn’t Sect Leader the only one who also has a black core?”
Zhao Luo questioned Xin Wang but Zhao Luo didn’t forget to be careful with his gestures and his tone.
‘Or could there really be more than the two of us who have black cores too?’
Zhao Luo wondered but everything depended on the answer of Xin Wang.
“Indeed, you are right. In the Xin Range, we are the only ones with a black core. But the ‘few people’ I was mentioning about… you will get to know them soon.”
Xin Wang stopped there as he did answer Zhao Luo’s question but in a manner that left Zhao Luo thinking about these ‘few people’ that he would probably meet soon.
“As for the black core, there was a time when in every hundred cultivators, one cultivator would have a black core. But, as time went on, the cultivators with black core became rare. Now, it’s so rare that from my time till now, there hasn’t been anyone with a black core except us.”
Even though Xin Wang was informing Zhao Luo about the rarity of his core, his eyes were already focused somewhere else.
Zhao Luo who was attentively listening to Xin Wang as a student could somewhat guess the meaning of having a black core as he looked at the lost eyes of Xin Wang.
Xin Wang was indeed thinking about how unfortunate it was for him to be the only person with the black core before Zhao Luo had come.
“But, Sect Leader.”
Zhao Luo wanted to say something but he felt reluctant.
“It’s okay. It’s just us here. And also drop the honorific.”
Xin Wang told Zhao Luo with a smile and since it was coming directly from him, Zhao Luo nodded.
“Then?”
He felt confused about how he should be addressing Xin Wang from now on.
“Just call me, Uncle Wang.”
Xin Wang laughed as he looked at the baffled look on Zhao Luo’s face.
‘Obviously, I can’t tell him that I haven’t given up on him. My little princess should try harder if she doesn’t want her love to be taken away by someone else.’
Xin Wang couldn’t help but remember her daughter, Xin Yan, as he was already making moves to get closer to Zhao Luo in her stead.
“Ask away.”
Xin Wang pushed Zhao Luo back to his question while also telling him on how he should address him when the two were alone.
Zhao Luo also didn’t hold back.
“Uncle Wang, what is this place?”
Zhao Luo looked around the hall they were in which was supposed to be a lecture hall, but except the lecture, everything else could be said to have taken place here.
“This is a lecture hall for disciples with a black core.”
Xin Wang proudly answered while calmly closing his eyes.
‘Indeed this once used to be the lecture hall that produced the strongest cultivator. Well, according to the record in the Knowledge Chamber.’
Xin Wang remembered what he had once read in the scrolls about the ancient Xin Sect.
These scrolls were kept in the Chamber which was inside in his palace.
The chamber was named Knowledge Chamber because all the scrolls and books kept there contained information that would be unbelievable in the current timeline.
“But, I am the only disciple here.”
Zhao Luo said to the Sect Leader who was once again lost in his thoughts.
“Someone may join you soon. Or at least one day, another disciple with a black core would grace this hall with his presence.”
Xin Wang said with a laughing tone showing how he didn’t mind even a little bit while joking about this matter.
‘So, that’s how it is.’
Zhao Luo understood that he will be the sole student taking weekly lectures from Xin Wang.
