Becoming God of a Dystopian World - Chapter 297: The Special Black Core
‘Why is he surprised when he wouldn’t even let me talk before?’
Zhao Luo wanted to laugh at the look on Xin Wang’s face which he was sure that no one else would have been able to see.
What could they even do to make their Sect Leader feel so lost that he had to watch back at them with his mouth agape?
But Zhao Luo’s words were indeed something that the Sect Leader couldn’t have seen coming.
“What did you feel?”
Xin Wang snapped out of his bafflement and asked Zhao Luo.
‘Let’s first confirm if the thing he had felt was indeed his core.’
Xin Wang waited for Zhao Luo’s answer while tilting forward towards him.
‘How great would it be if it was indeed his core…’
Xin Wang’s expectations were rising rapidly but he was still not sure about Zhao Luo’s words.
Zhao Luo looked down and touched his abdomen as he tried his best to remember the feeling.
“A beating. I could feel a short-lasting beating around my abdomen.”
Zhao Luo explained as much as he could.
The beating he had felt lasted for a very short while, like a few seconds, and then it had disappeared before Zhao Luo opened his eyes.
‘He indeed felt his core.’
Xin Wang confirmed it after listening to Zhao Luo’s words.
“Was the beating rapid or slow?”
Xin Wang asked about the speed of the beating that Zhao Luo had felt from his core.
“It was quite fast. Rapid beating.”
Zhao Luo looked down as he answered Xin Wang.
“I can only match it with the beating of an excited heart.”
Zhao Luo added to explain what he was trying to tell to Xin Wang.
But, Xin Wang already knew what he was trying to say.
“Now you know what a core feels like.”
Xin Wang told Zhao Luo which confirmed one thing for Zhao Luo too.
‘So, that was my core. What a mysterious feeling.’
Zhao Luo nodded at Xin Wang who had already opened his mouth to continue about what he was telling Zhao Luo.
“Since you already know how a core feels like, then think of it as the first step. The next is knowing about what you are dealing with.”
Xin Wang continued his lecture as he started explaining the core.
“Even if the color of the core inside two cultivators is the same, it doesn’t mean that their cores are the same.”
Xin Wang took out his core once more.
“Shwaa~”
The sound of waves was heard in the hall, but they were obviously rising from the projection of Xin Wang’s core.
The last time when Xin Wang had shown him his core, Zhao Luo hadn’t realized before but now as he watched the core more closely, he realized that the core was actually like a heart but the beating was slower than Zhao Luo had felt inside his abdomen for a few moments.
“The core inside you have a rapid beating as if it’s palpitating, but my core beats slower than yours but even then my core is already a very rare one.”
Xin Wang said while pointing at the black corners of his core.
“Then what does that make my core?”
Zhao Luo wondered and unconsciously questioned Xin Wang.
“Yes, normally everyone’s core is beating very slowly like this.”
Xin Wang waved his hand over his core and its beating slowed down but the sound of the waves crashing fastened along with the pressured expression on his face.
“But my core is already a special one, not only its color but also its beating speed. Even though it is special, it can’t compare to the palpitating core inside you.”
Xin Wang talked with a gentle tone as he explained to Zhao Luo.
Even though there were many successor candidates that were training right now, none had a black core. But some of them had cores that palpitated like Zhao Luo’s black core.
“Now continue with your breathing while focusing on finding your core. The longer you can feel it, the more you will get used to it. Once you can start feeling it with just a thought, then think of the first step as completed.”
Xin Wang instructed Zhao Luo before telling him to continue with his training.
‘Core, oh core. Here I come again.’
Zhao Luo took a deep breath and closed his eyes before keeping it inside him as he started his search for his core.
The time kept on passing inside the hall which was silent as a night’s desert and, Xin Wang and Zhao Luo both were busy. Xin Wang was meditating and Zhao Luo was training under Xin Wang’s instruction.
After the first seven minutes, Zhao Luo opened his eyes and breathed out slowly.
He had a disappointed look in his eyes.
‘Why couldn’t I feel it again?’
Zhao Luo wondered as he looked down and then towards Xin Wang who was the only one who could help him with this.
Xin Wang had his eyes closed and looked a little tired from the moment when he had slowed down his cores beating to explain the difference between the cores to Zhao Luo.
‘Let’s try again.’
Zhao Luo dived into the breathing method again and focused on finding his core.
In the next two minutes, Zhao Luo’s face twitched from time to time, as he pressured the inside of his body with the air he had inhaled just to pump out his core to the limit where he could feel it.
‘Ba-dump’
Zhao Luo felt a palpitating sensation once more.
It was the same as the one that he could feel from his heart but Zhao Luo knew that it wasn’t his heart.
It was coming from the abdomen where his hand was reaching.
Zhao Luo smiled while his eyes were closed and his right hand was placed on his abdomen.
‘Dadump’
Even the vibration passed from Zhao Luo’s abdomen to his hand.
‘So, there you are little bastard.’
Zhao Luo cursed at his core while feeling happy about the fact that he could feel it for a longer time.
A/N: The novel is being pasted on another site which is sad news. Obviously being pirated without my knowledge. I am not even earning around a 100$ from this each month so the release would drop but I will try to complete it over a few months without going on hiatus.
