Becoming God of a Dystopian World - Chapter 298: Black Core Overdrive
Zhao Luo still had his eyes closed while feeling the palpitating core inside him.
His core was always inside him and this was already the second time he was feeling it, but the feeling of achieving something great was hitting him harder than before.
‘Ba-Dump.’
Zhao Luo’s core was beating rapidly as he savored the rhythmic beat that his core was producing.
Zhao Luo was trying to peek inside his body while thinking of bringing his core out of his body in the form of a projection.
Xin Wang hadn’t taught Zhao Luo that, neither did he think that there was a reason to tell him that so early.
‘Let’s see what you look like.’
Zhao Luo thought inside his head while pushing his core which was somewhere deep inside his body towards his hand which was right on his abdomen.
Gradually the strength of the vibration from the beating core increased as it kept on reaching Zhao Luo’s hand.
‘It’s getting closer.’
Zhao Luo could now clearly feel it right in the middle of his abdomen but that was the limit.
It had already been thirteen minutes since he had last inhaled and his lungs were under a mountain of pressure.
Zhao Luo who was now eager to see the projection of his core ‘somehow’ had even forgotten to breathe and was already ignoring the fact that his lungs were in so much pain that neglecting it could damage them, but Zhao Luo continued.
A moment came where the core was stuck at the middle of his abdomen and no matter how much force Zhao Luo was applying towards the center of his body, he couldn’t make his core move but instead, only the beating of his core fastened.
‘It hurts.’
THUNDER!
Another painful sensation struck him but this one was different than the pressure his lungs were in. It was coming from the area where his core was. It was like bolts of lightning were crackling inside his body.
“GAH~”
Zhao Luo opened his eyes along with a beastly moan which was just a single part of the pain he was enduring.
All the stuck air flowed out of Zhao Luo’s mouth as if it was a popped balloon and his bloodshot eyes trembled in all four directions.
Zhao Luo’s sudden scream had brought Xin Wang out of his meditation abruptly and as he looked at Zhao Luo’s haggard condition and his trembling eyes, Xin Wang hurriedly leaped towards Zhao Luo.
‘That’s the core’s retaliation when it’s empty and its owner is trying to use something that uses internal energy.’
“A Core Overdrive.”
Xin Wang shouted while placing his hand on Zhao Luo’s back and striking Zhao Luo’s forehead with his palm thrice.
Zhao Luo could only see faint images while being held straight by Xin Wang.
‘What is happening?’
THUNDER!
“Gah~”
He could only moan in pain while his organs felt like they were being fried as he was getting electrocuted with his own core.
Right after he could feel Xin Wang’s plan on his forehead, something hot touched his lips, and then it was forced into his mouth.
Not only was Zhao Luo disgusted but his eyes trembled even more.
‘What a familiar smell.’
Zhao Luo wondered as he could swear that he had smelled it some while ago.
Soon the thing that Xin Wang had pushed inside his mouth rolled down his mouth and passed through his throat.
‘A PILL.’
Feeling it roll inside his mouth, even though Zhao Luo had no control over his action at the moment, he could still distinguish between such things.
Before he could even think any further, two energies rose from different places. One was rising from his forehead where Xin Wang had just struck three times with his palm and the other place was his stomach.
Both energies slowly made their way towards his abdomen but Zhao Luo who could only feel it had no idea what was going inside his body.
Somewhere deep inside Zhao Luo’s abdomen, a golden and a brown light was enveloping a black cube. The scene was so obnoxious that it looked like two snakes were trying to devour a scorched meteorite but to no result.
Soon the lights were pulled inside the black cube which was Zhao Luo’s core and that resulted in slowing down its rapid beating. The thundering stopped inside his body and finally, calmness returned to his eyes.
Zhao Luo looked down and found a small projection of a cube right in front of his abdomen.
The edges of the cube were dark and even though it was still beating faster than Xin Wang’s core, the sound of the waves coming from it was almost inaudible.
“What happened?”
Zhao Luo was still staring at his core but his question was directed at Xin Wang.
Only the Sect Leader could tell him what the horrendous pain he had experienced was.
“How can you ask for coins from a broke man? Wouldn’t a beggar hit you if you start begging from him?”
Xin Wang questioned Zhao Luo. His eyebrows were still furrowed so much that it seemed like he had a unibrow.
“He will.”
Zhao Luo listened to the question and didn’t take the Sect Leader’s anger lightly while answering his question.
“So how could you make a projection of your core, an action which uses internal energy, when your core is empty? It’s just like asking a beggar for money, my dumb disciple.”
“So you mean…”
“Yes, It was your greed.”
‘Thwack.’
Xin Wang smacked Zhao Luo’s back before slowly walking back on the platform and then sat down in the lotus position just like before.
Xin Wang glared at Zhao Luo without hiding the anger that was contained in his eyes.
“I had told you to only feel your core, not to take it out.”
Xin Wang was scolding Zhao Luo for doing something that he wasn’t even told to do.
Zhao Luo only nodded but his nod wasn’t towards Xin Wang’s scolding but to the realization that had hit him.
“So the projection of the core is the core itself.”
Zhao Luo touched his abdomen and he couldn’t feel his core anymore instead at the moment he could see his core floating right in front of his abdomen.
“Do you hear me, Disciple Zhao Luo?”
Xin Wang shouted since he was worried for Zhao Luo before and now he wanted Zhao Luo to remember his mistake so he wouldn’t do it again.
“Uncle Wang…”
Zhao Luo smiled while looking at the Sect Leader as though his earlier painful screams didn’t matter anymore.
“If I hadn’t gone further, then my core wouldn’t be in front of me.”
Zhao Luo was only saying facts with a confident tone as his greed to see the projection of his core had bore fruits.
