Before You Leave Me - Chapter 27
I made it home. She didn’t see me take the pills, I don’t even think she knew I was going through her things. I know there’s something big that’s she not telling me, I can feel it whenever I’m around her. Mom use to always say I read people well. Maybe she was right, I never thought so. I walk up the stairs headed to my room hoping I don’t find dad passed out drunk in the halfway up there. I just want one day… one day where I don’t have to worry if he’s tearing himself apart or not. It’s been forever since I’ve had that. Once mom left she took her worries about dad with her and left them with me. A few steps from my bedroom door and no drunk passed out dad. My phone buzzes in my back pocket, i pull it out to see that I got a text from dad.
”I’m picking up another shift tonight at work, i won’t be back until the morning. Make sure you lock the house up tonight….and uh be safe. Bye” it reads. I get a feeling of relief. At least he’s not out somewhere getting drunk and causing a scene. I kick my shoes off, lay my phone on my nightstand and flop on the bed releasing a long sigh. I feel my eyes slowly close and my thoughts stop. This little moment relaxes me more than anything lately. I remember the pills i still had in my pocket, i pull them out to take a better look at them.
SEROQUEL 50mg, Anderson, Lola.
I never knew her last name was Anderson. I turn the medium size bottle in my hand examining the pills inside. I pull out my computer from under my nightstand and open up google.
WHAT IS SEROQUEL? I type in, hoping to get answers to why she had this in her room. The faster i can get answers the faster I can return it without her realizing it was gone in the first place. Pages and pages of results pop up and I’m not sure which to click on first. I look for a site that has a clear answer to what it is. After what seems like forever i finally got the answer that I needed.
SEROQUEL IS A ANTI DEPRESSANT/ ANTI PSYCHOTIC MEDICATION THAT IS MOSTLY PRESCRIBED TO TEENS WITH MANIC EPISODES.
It read. Why would she need something like this?
