Being The Carefree Empress - 11 Lonely
“That fucking brat. I swear, I’ll end her life.” The Assassin leader said as he jump up and down of the roofs.Following him was his two remaining subordinates.
“Who would have thought a girl can match to us.” Said by the guy to the left. The leader looked at his broken arms which pissed him more.
“Who’s there?” The guy in the right was the first one to notice the person blocking their way. The three looked up and saw a person covered in black clothing. The leader scanned the person in their front, trying to identify if the person infront is one of their subordinates.
“My lord asked me not to kill you, but to give you something worse than death.” The person in black uttered. Before the three can react, the three suddenly found theirself on the roof, lying in their own blood. Their limbs was cutted off cleanly.
The person in black slashed his sword in the air causing the blood in his blade to be cleaned off, then after keeping his sword away, he left the three screaming in anguish.

I was send off to the inn. When I woke up, I found my wound cleaned and bandage. Probably, Effreila’s work. I saw a letter in the desk beside the bed.It was from the three of them. Their people safely picked them up. They let a few of their people send me back here, as much as they want to bring me back here and nurse me, their parents are waiting for them especially hearing the attempted assasination. They also made sure to bring me justice and they left their remaining silver in a pouch that I wouldn’t dare to look, because I know it would be a lot. I’m just glad that they are safe.
“Miss Ermyntrude. Your breakfast.” I heard knocking on my door. I took the heavy pouch and put is by my side.
“Come in, please. Thank you.” I said. The servant served the breakfast in my bed and helped me to check up the wound in my right arm. The Envoy was informed about the assasination, which I bet horrified him, especially those three girls was involved. But I think, the people from their clan already talked to him and also about my condition thus this treatment I’m receiving.
“Does the ladies from the south have arrived?” I asked the servant. After shw wrapped the bandage in my arm.
“It seems that there were only one lady who came from the south. While two ladies who came from the East tried to escaped last night, but was caught and punished accordingly. While the three ladies whom your ladyship get along with was withdrawn by their clans.” She reported. I nodded silently. As there are none for her to do here anymore, I dismissed her.
It seems that rather saying they escaped, they let them withdraw by the assasination cover up. I suddenly remembered Cassidy. She must have heard the failed attempted assasination. I don’t really care now if you asked me, maybe she’ll be on edge right now because Joie, Resi, and Ella’s Clan are involved. She’ll probably avoid me in the time being.
I finished my breakfast and fixed my luggage. Now that the lady from the south have come, I think that we’ll be setting off soon to go to the capital.
I looked outside through the window. Fiore Town is nice, it’s spring time right now and all the flowers are in full bloom. The wind is nice to feel and the sun is just right. I’ll like to take a walk before we go to the palace, which I’m pretty sure, it’ll be awhile before I can leave the place.
“Miss Ermyntrude?” I saw the envoy as I walk down the stairs.
“I’ll be taking a quick walk if that’s alright?” I asked and smiled. He looked at me then my arm with bandages.
“I’ll be fine, Sir Envoy. The Assassins was caught yesterday and I’ll just be in the field near the inn.” I said chuckling. The Envoy smiled at me.
“If that’s what you want then. Be sure to be back before noon. ” The Envoy said. I just nodded and walked away.
“What a carefree lady..” I heard the envoy said through his sigh which just made me laugh.
I walked out the in with an umbrella at my left arm hanging. I just brought it with me just incase I feel the heat to be too much. But I think it’ll unnecessary since the heat is just fine and the wind blowing to my face is really nice. I somehow feel at peace yet when I looked around and see this unfamiliar place with many unfamiliar faces. I somehow feel lonely.
“Pretty sister! Would you like to buy some flowers?” A little girl walked towards me with a small bouquet offlowers. I smiled.
“Sure, how much?” I asked. She looked at me stunned then happily gave me a bouquet.
“It’s only 50 copper coins sister! Plus I’ll give you this flower crown! I think it will really suits you with your beautiful long black hair!” She said. I got in her height by sitting down a bit. She put the flower crown in my head. It was full of colorful and pretty flowers. I looked at her and the wonderfully arranged bouquet.
“Here’s 5 silver coins. I think that what you gave me is worth that coins.” I said and smiled. She looked at me like she can’t believe it.
“S-sister… thank you! I’ll be able to send my little brother to the clinic with this money. I’ll make sure to pay you when I got big and rich!” She said as she sobs. I patted her head.
“I’m sure you will. Anyways, I’ll be going now. I pray that your little brother will get better.” I said and left. She stood their waving at me with a smile on her face.
I walked around more. Life here isn’t as modern as my previous world and I’m sure they are working hard for their everyday life. But the biggest difference here is that they are working happily. It is hardwork, but at the end of the day, they get to come home and see their family..
Family.. huh?
I walked around more and bought stuff in the sidewalks. It was miscellaneous stuff that I bought from the vendors. I also bought foods so that I can eat something when I reach the field of flowers.
Which when I did, My breathe can’t help not to be taken away. It was really beautiful. The place full of flowers and the blue clear sky above. I walked towards one of the tree on top of a little hill and took a rest. This view is fantastic. I can’t get enough of it.
“Reen look!” I turned around to my older brother sitting in front of a flower. It was a white stargazer. It was standing straight and was really pretty compare to all the flowers besides it.
“It’s really pretty, right?” Brother said to me and smiled. I nodded.
I didn’t noticed but I started crying. It was a simple memory of mine with my older brother. I was young and was happy in simple things. I really missed them. I really do.
“Mom.. Dad.. Brother..I really miss you.” I said to the wind. I guess I started feeling homesick. Especially now that I’m alone in this world. I don’t have a mother, father, nor siblings. I have relatives but it really means nothing.
“Why are you crying?” I froze when I heard a voice coming from the back of the tree which I’m leaning on.
“I asked you, why are you crying?” The voice repeated. I chuckled as my tears still flows.
“I’m sorry if I disturbed your rest. I didn’t know there was someone here first.” I said and just looked at the sky. The winds blow and my tears didn’t stopped. I just feel so sad.
“Hey, since you’re here, care to have a chat? I’ll just tell you some stories, okay?”I don’t know.I don’t care who but I just need to tell this all to someone.
“It’s up to you if you’ll stay or not.” I said and laughed. I took out a sandwich that I bought in the street.
“Here, If you’re hungry join me. It’s better to eat with someone.” I said and pass him some sandwiches at the side without looking.
“Anyways. Listen now okay? I’ll answer your question.”
