Being The Carefree Empress - 9 Trivial Remarks
I lay down my bed thinking of what I just learned from the three. I thought that the Dark Emperor was feared because of his dictatorship, but it was more than that. He was an accomplished person and a righteous one. Like, yeah what’s wrong with that? and how is that scary?
Well it is because when he was 15, he became renowned young scholar for his intelligence and quick wits. He outsmart a lot of scholars back then despite being young. At 16, where everyone thought he was just some weak scholar, turned out he was also a very strong martial artist rivaling hundreds of other powerful experts. He was young but he already beaten the top 3 expert in the ranking thus ranking himas the third powerful expert in the world.
With all this his father not yet wanting tolet the throne go, felt threaten by his own son, where the previous Emperor tried to kill him and sent assassin to him every day. The Dark Emperor didn’t do much to his father, not yet. It turns out in a year, when he turned 17, he started a rebellion where he presented all the corrupt, unlawful, and immoral things his father did. Many officials backed him up and he decided to execute his father publicly.
After that, The Dark Emperor giving the excuse that he wasstill young let theEmpress–which is one of his father’s promoted concubine—be the temporary regent as he dig out corrupted officials in the palace. He found out the corruption from the royal family thus he himself removed them. He was accused of being crazy, but he got many evidence to back him up. Thus at the age of 18, he was enthroned and became the Emperor. With almost brand-new loyal to the Emperor and Empire officials.
All I can say is that… that was crazy life he’s living. He have a crazy past and all he can do is to keep forward. Not for himself but for the Empire. I feel a bit sorry for him. I sincerely do. He must done so much, he must have to choose a lot of things for him to be cold and dark hearted. Not by choice, but because this is what he needed to do.
“What a pitiful—”
I was startled when I heard commotion of breaking downstairs. I quickly got up and went down to where I hear a lot of noises. As I was walking down, I seetwo women in the middle of gossiping ladies. It was Cassidy Trushen and Belein Antes.
Belein is standing with a pitcher in hand and Cassidy is at the floor drenched with juice.
“Miss Antes, what did I do to you… for you to do it this to me?” Cassidy started crying. People glared at Belein as if she’s the villain.
“You too faced bitch! You set me up to this!” Belein thrown the pitcher and it broke near Cassidy. Where shards of the pitcher flew and cut Cassidy’s face. This further escalated the anger of many onlookers towards Belein. Now Belein was frozen from the looks she’s receiving.
“I really didn’t mean it… it was her who…” Belein was in verge of crying. Of course, she’s a kid, she would be scared when given hatred from things she didn’t do.
“Enough Miss Antes! Miss Trushen came from a humble background but that doesn’t mean you can just bully people you hate!” A girl from one of the East ladies said as she helped Cassidy up. I noticed the slight curl on her lips. Ah.. What a sly fox indeed
“I always knew she’s a barbaric and unrefined person, but I didn’t expect it to this extent. What a disgrace.” Said by Pharisen as she shook her head as if she disapprove such behavior. I looked around and it’s obvious that Belein is already in the disadvantageous position.
I can help her, but I don’t see how it will be a really good thing. Infact, it will only be hard if I intervene. After all, I wouldn’t want Trushen’s attention. Might as well go back up and sleep–
“Look who’s talking. Belein was right you know? Cassidy is a two-face fox while you? You’re a hypocrite. You hated the Emperor the most, saying how much you disagree with his ways and all that. Now you’re here?” I easily identified Resitaire’s voice. This kids. Why must they do this? Couldn’t they just let it go? They’ll be escaping later for God’s sake.
“Resi, we shouldn’t really…” I saw Effreila trying to stop Resitaire, but Joie just tapped her in the shoulder to stop trying. I shook my head. I’ll just watch how this will develop for a bit. I’m pretty sure, the Envoy have been notified from this commotion. I looked around the place, looking for certain girl and I found her standing at the sides with a torn expression as if she doesn’t know what to do.
“Resitaire. You were so insignificant, that I didn’t notice. How was your exam the other day? Did well?” Pharisen said which made Resitaire glare.
“Resitaire from Herschel Clan?”
“Wow. I heard she’s smarter to some male scholars.”
“So what? Her character isn’t much. Look how she’s also bullying Pharisen and Cassidy.
I saw Joie’s expression turn sour. Effreila was more anxious. I kind of get the feeling this three wasn’t so simple young ladies, but for them to be famous and from a Clan? It means they have live years with this Empire and have a decent amount of reputation.
“Watch your mouth. We seen how Belein was provoked by Cassidy herself. Infact, it was Cassidy herself threatened Belein, she just fought back. But you low class, trying to suck up to Cassidy wouldn’t know her real attitude. ” Joie said smirking. Cassidy looked at Joie grimly. Those girls backing Cassidy saw Joie and couldn’t help not to be intimidated.
“That’s Joie from Starke Clan.”
“Their Clan Head is Minister of War. With a high rank in military and their family have pretty much every position in military.”
I looked at Cassidy and noticed how she seems to have thought of something and returned from a pitiful expression.
“I know my family have nothing comparing to your clan, Miss Starke. But if I knew you were interested in Miss Belein, I wouldn’t have talked to her in the—” I quickly moved when I saw Joie about to pounce Cassidy. Plus I saw that girl, Alexandria Wahlberg, have decided to intervene and so does the Envoy who has just entered the place.
“Enough, Joie. Make peace.” I said when I stopped her by holding to her shoulder. Shw was startled, but immediately regained her composure. As expected to someone who practice martial arts. But it isn’t enough, she should temper herself more to not be provoked by some petty arguement.
“You know yourself better so don’t be bother by other people’s trivial remarks.” I said and pulled her to the side not even looking back. As we exited, the Envoy got through to the middle and Alexandria helped Belein up.
As we walk, I can feel glares at my back. This is why I don’t want to interfere.
