Bites & Addiction - Chapter 32:Gala
“Will you please zip up the back?” I requested to Roman who was putting on his wrist watch after wearing a black suit jacket and black pant with white shirt, his jet black hair was perfectly jelled.
“Sure.” He Came to me and zipped up the back of the dress that I was wearing causing a hot shiver ran down my spine as his fingers intentionally brushed my bare skin. The dress was a full sleeved, front v-neck, beige coloured with embroidery pattern on it. I tied my blonde hair in a loose bun.
“You look beautiful.” He said lingering soft kisses on my neck, his arms encircled around my waist. “If this gala wasn’t that important then I would’ve done the exact opposite of that.”
I turned around and encircled my arms around his neck. “Why’s this gala so important to you?” I inquired as I realised that nothing is important to Roman except sex. And right now he just refused the only thing he’s addicted to.
“Because the collected fund will directly go to the charity for treatment of cancer patients.” He explained.
“Ohh, I don’t involve usually.” He shrugged. “But this is the exception, ‘Cause from my opinion vampirism is like a cancer. Both are same as you become enemy of yourself. But the difference is vampires are immortal whereas a cancer patient is not. So I try my best to donate as much funds as I can, at least cancer can be treated.”
I didn’t say anything, just kissed his full lips to letting him know that I acknowledged his view.
“Smile looks good on you.” I commented seeing him smiling.
“And red looks good on you.” He said tracing my red lips with his thumb, “It actually brings out your eyes.”
“That’s why you like to eat them.” He smiled again.
“Oh wait. I’ve something for you.” Shoving his hand into the pocket he searched it and took out a red box of jewellery. He opened the box revealing a beautiful wedding ring.
“A wedding ring.” I almost whispered as I felt a rush of emotions hit me.
“Here.” He took my hand and slid the ring around my ring finger. “The way we got married I never gave you a wedding ring, and trust me I’ve never planned about that either.” He said, “But you’re changing me…in a good way and making me feels the things that I’ve never felt before.” Leaning in, he brushed his lips on my forehead. “You’re a source of only water in a desert and I’m a thirsty rover.”
“Sentimental enough.” I mocked poking his chest in process.
Rolling his eyes he sneered, “A guy starts having a poet vibe for you and you’re just making jokes of it.”
“Aww!” I tiptoed and instead of a passionate kiss, I lightly brushed my lips on his in a teasing way because I knew what kind of kisses he likes. “I think we’re getting late.” His eyes narrowed at me and he questioned, “You’re teasing me. Aren’t you?”
I backed away and picked up my clutch from the bed. “If it’s working then I’m.”
His lips twitched, and shoving his hands into the pockets he dictated, “Well then, we have a whole night for this game. And trust me babe, the night is always mine.”
*~*~*
Chauffeur opened the door for me and Roman held his hand that I took immediately. As I stepped out of the car I was blinded by the flickering lights and flashes that was coming from the cameras willing to take pictures of new wedded.
“You okay?” Roman asked with concern tone and I nodded. Despite of a daughter of billionaire, I’d never encountered to the media before. And I was good with that because I love my life normal, but being Roman’s wife I don’t think my life would be normal again.
“We’re gonna bidding for a painting.” He informed me and gently pushed me forward to find our way into the auction.
We seated onto a chair and the auction started. I didn’t have to guess who’d win the painting because as far as I knew how close this charity fundraising was for Roman, the painting would definitely sellout to him.
“And this painting which is made by Clarence Williams goes to Mr. Roman Hashking.” A man announced on the stage and applause rippled around the tables.
“Congrats!” I greeted him, kissing his cheek. Everyone in the hall were congratulating us for auction and also for wedding. Most of there were businessmen and celebrities. Personally I didn’t know any of them but somewhat heard about some famous businessmen from dad.
“It’s a complete misconception that I believed only I have the masterpieces.” A male voice came from behind me. “Thanks for pulling me out of my reverie.”
When the man came in front of me and shook Roman’s hand, I took a hold of him and noticed that he’d dirty blonde hair and steel blue eyes and most of all his skin was pale as Roman. He must be a cold blooded.
“Flora, he’s my friend Clarence Williams.” Roman introduced me to him.
His friend Clarence took my hand and brushed his lips on my knuckles.
“Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Williams.” I smiled.
“Pleasure is all mine.” He said, “And Please, Call me Clarence.”
“You’re very talented. I’m really glad that I’ve got a chance to see your painting from that close.”
“I should rather thanks Roman to brought you here.” He said, his voice friendly and pleasing. “So I’ve got a chance to see you here from that close.”
Suddenly blood rushed to my cheeks and I turned all red.
“If you’re done flirting with my wife then can we go now?” Roman interjected suddenly being jealous like an over possessive teen boyfriend. “I’ve few files to read at home.”
“Aww! Isn’t he the sweet, jealous husband?” Clarence teased him in a joking way. “Don’t worry bro I’m not gonna steal your property. I know you’re territorial.”
“And you’re a poacher.” Roman mocked.
Clarence said,”I think you meant an admirer.”
“Both are different.”
Clarence sighed, “Why are you being rude to me today? I hadn’t even killed anyone yet.”
I hope that was a joke.
“What do you want? A gold star?” Roman scoffed.
“You both are insane.” I interrupted getting enough of their childish annoying behaviour. “Really guys, you fight like kids.”
Clarence chuckled as if I just made a joke and said, “Trust me Flora, It wasn’t a fight.”
I frowned while Roman narrowed his eyes at him.
“Alright. Alright. You can go now. I can understand your sexual frustration my friend.” Clarence said straightforwardly and Roman let out an annoyed growl while I giggled.
After awhile we were home and Once I stepped into bedroom I grabbed my nighty and directly went to the bathroom, took a quick shower and after changing into a nighty I stepped out.
When I stepped out of the bathroom, the first thing that caught my eyes was Roman’s half naked figure laying on the bed in half sleeping position with a laptop on his lap.
Should I tell him about Silas? But Roman will kill him if I tell him about the bruises that Silas gave me on my wrists. But Silas is still my lecturer and If something happens just like I guess, then the news will spread like a fire and it might somewhat affect my graduating process. I can’t take any risk until I get graduated. After all it’s my last year.
“Why are your hands purple?”
What? My hands? Shit!
I cursed under my breathe as I peeked at my wrists and realised that I didn’t conceal the bruises.
“Flora?” He was in front of me in blink of an eye, his eyes scrutinising my wrists. “Who did this to you?”
“Umm…..that’s a very good question.” I responded hesitantly. I should’ve concealed my marks. Damn it.
I tried to walk past him but he grabbed my arm and pulled me against him.
“Who.did.this.to.you?” He gritted out.
“This isn’t serious, Roman. Forget about it.”
“Do you want me to burn your whole campus?”
How he know that I’ve got these bruises in my campus?
Hmm. Smart.
“Silas.” I blurted out. Immediately, his eyes clouded with darkness and a wave of fear hit me.
“Roman you won’t lay an eye on my campus.”
He didn’t respond. All he did was clenched his jaws and gave me a cold and deadly look. “Why are you defending him?” He snapped.
“I’m not.” I replied clasping his cheek to calm him. “All I’m doing is just trying to protect the people I love.”
His expression softened and he squeezed my hand. “Promise me you won’t step into my campus.”
After much deliberation, he arrived at an agreement and promised me that he wouldn’t step into my campus. But somewhere deep down I’ve had a suspicious feeling about that promise.
