Bites & Addiction - Chapter 41:The True Feelings & The Truth
My eyes squeezed open and I looked around to see my room and some familiar faces standing near my bed. I tried to remember what happened awhile ago when I was in jet, and consequently experienced a sudden piercing pain in my heart as the images of our argument bombarded my brain.
“You need to rest, honey.” Mom indicated as I tried to get up. There was a smile on her face that was reaching to her eyes.
I know I fainted in the jet, but it was a result of a wild sex.
I again tried to get up but this time Freya stopped me. “Your mom is right, Flora. You should rest for awhile, and you need to especially take care of your health from now on. Look at you, you look so weak. From now on, you’ll eat for two.”
“Wh-What do you mean?” I was confused by her statement. Why did she say that I need to eat for two? And why was my mom and Freya was in my bedroom? Where was Roman?
Freya and mom exchanged a look before mom smiled at me and exclaimed, “You’re pregnant, Flora.”
Suddenly, a warm feeling grew up in my heart and my hand automatically reached to touch my stomach. I just forgot for a moment what happened between Roman and I. I was happy. Even happier than I’ve ever been.
I don’t care if his feelings for me was real or not, but mine was true. I loved him in every moment I breathe. So the baby was mine, and it deserves a better life.
“Is everything okay?” Freya asked concerned when she realised that I was in a deep thought. “You don’t look good.”
“Should we call the doctor, honey?” Mom worried, gently brushing my hair away from my face.
I gave them a faint smile, “No need to call the doctor, mom. I’m just tired.”
They smiled back, and in the meantime I saw him behind them as he walked through the door. He stood there for a moment, our eyes held the gaze. Mom and Freya followed my gaze and looked behind them.
“Can I have a moment with my wife?” Roman asked, his eyes never leaving mine.
“Sure.”
“Why not.”
“After all she’s all yours.” Planting a soft kiss on my head both of them left the room.
I looked away as he took slow paces towards me.
My heart was already went heavy and I felt like it was about to burst. He seated himself onto the bed close enough that his thigh touching mine.
“It’s human.” He smiled, while I traced my stomach and smiled to know that the baby belongs to me. It’s human. “I can hear its heart beat. I’m glad that he got it from his mother.”
I was on the verge of crying, barely trying to control myself so I won’t let him know that he hurt my feelings so badly. I’m strong. I’m strong. I won’t cry in front of him. I won’t.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered softly.
And then I started crying.
He immediately wrapped his arms around me and started gently rubbing my back while I buried my face into his chest. Why I’m crying on his chest? He’s the one who hurt me. And why he’s acting now? Hasn’t he already got what he wanted?
“I’m sorry for not telling you about my past.” He whispered against my hair, “You deserved to know everything about me.”
“That’s why you made her leave so she couldn’t tell me the truth.” I sobbed against his chest.
“I didn’t want to lose you.” I looked up into his gray eyes. “She was my past, but you’re my present and my future. I want to grow old with you and watch our child getting big.” He added, and a warm feeling spread around my heart hearing his words.
He was honest and certain. I could see that in his eyes. Grabbing my hand, he placed it on his chest where his heart was beating. “Can you feel it? The way it’s beating, only you can make it. I can lie about my feelings but my heart can’t.” He said, “And it belongs to you, Flora. Only you.” I felt a rush of emotions collapsed to my heart and I closed my eyes to let the tears fall down my cheeks. It was hard to resist him. It was even harder to not trust his feelings for me. I’ve doubted on his feelings. He was in love with me too all the time as much as I was, but I can’t digest the thing that he spent ten years with Adele. It’s just too much for me.
“Say something, baby.” Roman’s voice brought me out of my thoughts. “Will you forgive me?”
I withdrew my hand back to me and replied, “I need time, Roman. This is too much for me to digest that you were with her for like ten years and then you suddenly threw her like a cigarette and married me.”
He lowered his eyes and seemed guilty. “What if she has been have feelings for you all the time?”
“It can’t be possible.” He declared quickly. “I’d made sure that this kind of situation wouldn’t come, so she let me compel her.”
“This is too much.” I felt disgusted, and about to get up when he grabbed my arm and pulled me back to him.
“Where are you going?”
“I told you I want some time to digest everything, and that wouldn’t happen if we are living under the same roof.” I snarled, withdrawing my arm back.
He frowned, and got up with me. “You are moving into other room?”
I plastered a tight smile, “I’m moving into my dad’s house.” He was taken aback as his eyes widened and lips parted to say something. But he couldn’t ’cause he knew that I was damn serious and he had the only chance for my forgiveness.
“For how long?” he asked.
“I don’t know. Maybe till delivery.” I replied, shrugging.
“All right. If that’s what it takes you to forgive me.” He agreed. Even though I wanted some time to accept his past, and finally I’d been given, but I felt guilty at the same time because the baby was also belong to him. And now I was taking it away from him. “But I love you. Both of you.” He planted a kiss on my forehead while his one hand gently tracing my stomach.
