Blessed Transmigration - Chapter 3 Entering The Sea
Somewhere in the outskirts of Loguetown two figures came to a halt. Due to his new body, Ryan was just fine, since he has nearly endless stamina for something like running. Anne on the other hand was slightly out of breath, since she was chased for the last few days.
“Why did you help me? You should know, the Navy will put you onto the wanted list!” Anne asked him, as if reprimanding him.
“You mean I should just close my eyes, when I see injustice? Does it even matter, if it’s the Navy or someone else?”
Anne looking at him quite strangely continued “Of course, it matters. The Navy has ties with most powers and won’t back down. Once you got your own bounty all kinds of people will be after you.”
Ryan nonchalantly replied “They won’t be able to do anything, if they don’t at least send a vice admiral. Furthermore, I just thought about starting my own pirate crew. How about you join me as my right hand?”
Noticing his absentminded, dirty look Anne glared at him for a moment, until he awoke from his delusions. “Ahem, what I wanted to say is, you could take on the position of the vice captain.”
Finally, ignoring this unique existence, Anne started to seriously consider his offer. Sure he was quite an idiot, but he still saved her and even looked quite handsome as long, as he didn’t start to talk. His strength could be said to be formidable, to handle even a Navy Captain with ease.
Seemingly even forgetting the way, Smoker met his tragic end, she thought it may be for the better to find some allies. After today, she should receive an official bounty and it would just get harder to escape.
“Fine I will join you. I guess you already heard my name from Smoker earlier. May I know who you are?”
“Right, my name is Ryan. It’s a pleasure to have you join my crew.” Ryan unconsciously gave his best smile, making even Anne’s heart skip a beat.
‘Really now? Am I really starting to fall for such an idiot?’
Oblivious of her inner conflict, Ryan began planning their next step. ‘Since I already have a vice captain, we already meet the minimum requirements for a pirate crew. We should probably set sail earlier than later, since the marines are after us now.’
“Anne are you ready? We should leave this island as soon as possible. Let’s head to the harbor and get ourselves a nice ship.”
After sighing, Anne finally responded “Alright Captain, which requirements do you have for the ship?”
A devilish grin made its way up onto his handsome face “Since we are in a rush and need enough supplies to last for a while, some special measures are necessary.”
Anne just scrunched her eyebrows together, but didn’t ask any questions and just quietly followed behind him. ‘My captain really likes to act mysterious. Maybe this eccentric character is not so bad after all. I just hope he won’t cause too much trouble.’
Little did she know, how much her decision to join him, would affect her future life.
About two hours later on the harbor there were about 100 marines kneeling on the floor lowering their heads opposite to an enraged Smoker. “You imbeciles, how could somebody steal a Navy ship! What did you even do, letting only two people overwhelm all of you. What do you think, we should do now without a ship?”
What made Smoker nearly explode, was the note left behind by the thieves.
‘Hey Smokey, I wanted to apologize and hope your tweety is fine. I am short of a pirate ship and thought it might be fine to borrow yours for a while.
Yours sincerely, your friend Ryan’
“Argh that bastard, I will rip him to shreds” Smoker shouted while kicking one of his subordinates into the water.
The young marine on the other hand didn’t understand, what even happened. ‘Could you be even more unreasonable? It’s not like I stole our ship. Serves you right getting kicked into the nuts.’
Meanwhile, Ryan could be seen enjoying himself on top of the ship and painting the new flag while whistling. Luckily inside were enough materials to make a perfect pirate flag and paint the hull, to not be mistaken as a Navy ship.
“Hey Anne, did you already eat a devil fruit?” Ryan asked a little anxious while thinking of something.
“I didn’t, it’s not like they grow in every backyard. Why did you ask?”
“I think it’s better you don’t eat one of these. They may be strong, but are quite disadvantageous, especially since we are sailing on the sea most of our time. Regarding gaining strength, there is still Haki and aside from that I have some other means to push our strength to a new level.” Ryan calmly replied seemingly relieves of the fact, that she doesn’t have the disadvantages of a devil-fruit user.
Curious about his words Anne asked “You have other ways to help me getting stronger?”
Ryan activated his mysterious side again before replying with a slight grin “I have. You will know soon enough.”
After their short exchange, both of them got back to work. Anne got back to steering the ship, while Ryan continued to paint their flag. The color was black, since the Navy doesn’t paint their ships blood-red, much to Ryan’s dissatisfaction. He drew a skull with two sharp teeth inside the top row.
Standing in top of the mast, after his work was done, Ryan was enjoying the fresh air and seemingly endless water around him, when he suddenly felt a slight itch inside his throat.
