Blind Dragon - Chapter 2
The silhouette bent down picking Bo Yongliang up.
The silhouette, when looked at closely, was just a black figure shrouded in a black haze.
Only a pair of unique eyes were visible.
The iris’ were a mix of black and white; the tai chi (yin yang) symbol. The yang with the yin was at the top in the left eye and the opposite in the right eye.
The figure vanished and reappeared in a vast field with nothing but grass swaying the winds. The sun flared, trying to shine through the clouds that curtained the sky.
Looking at Bo Yongliang, the figure chuckled and placed a finger on Bo Yongliang’s forehead.
“Let’s see if you are fit to be the successor of I, Wanshan Hexie!” Wanshan Hexie spoke as his finger suddenly lit up.
Like a spark evolving into a fire, the light expanding and glowed vibrantly like the fiery sun before dimming and glowed jet black before the two opposites intertwined.
Yin and yang struggled to take over the over. Yang became yin and yin became yang.
After a moment the two extremes flickered before slowly vanished like a dying flame.
“Unity of Extremity. Once you reach that stage will I accept you.” Wanshan Hexie said softly before removing his finger and flicked it.
Bo Yongliang’s battered body was wrapped in a layer of light before vanishing, leaving nothing.
“I forgot to check which innate eyes he had…” Wanshan Hexie suddenly spoke and sighed.
“Old age is wonderful thing.” He muttered.
“No matter, I’ll discover once he reaches Unity of Extremity.” Wanshan Hexie’s figure flickered before vanishing.
…
Tiankong Continent, outskirts of Lilac Orchid City, Midnight Sun Empire.
Lilac grass, tinted with royal blue, swayed as the cotton white clouds swept passed the rising sun. Nearby was a forest and the trees stood silently as the greenish purple leaves rustled.
Two men riding horses, followed by three men, galloped past the trees in hopes of shaking off the pursuers.
“Ouyang Li! Don’t think that you can escape from us!” One of the men chasing the duo shouted as he and his companions increased their speed.
“Che!” Ouyang Li bit his lip and urged his horse to go faster as he turned to the man next to him.
“Big brother Lin, separate up ahead.” Ouyang Li spoke before gripping the reigns of his horse tighter.
“Ah Li, I promised your father that we would return from the mission fine! How can I come back saying we were chased by men of the Black Mountain and separated while only I returned?! You’re the son of the second elder! I can’t leave you alone out there!” Fang Lin refused as he decided to follow Ouyang Li.
“Then tell him it was my idea!” Ouyang Li responded as he looked ahead where there was a river nearby.
“Let’s hide in the river!” Ouyang Li said as he smacked his horse’s butt with qi imbued into his palm.
The horse neighed as it ran at top speed to the river leaving Fang Lin lagging behind and the men out of their sight.
Fang Lin grit his teeth before doing the same thing as Ouyang Li did; just before they reached the river, the two jumped off their horses and landed into the river while the horses escaped.
Ouyang Li hid near the bottom and waited.
A few moments later, the three men stopped before surveying the surrounding and cursed.
“We lost them! We’re gonna be punished by the sixth elder!” One said before spotting horse prints.
“They split up! Wang Chao, go left way while me and Dai Ning will go the other way!” He ordered as he quickly left Dai Ning and Wang Chao.
“We’ll meet brother Su Chun later.” Wang Chao said to Dai Ning before the two left.
“We lost them…” Ouyang Li said in relief as he popped his head out of the water and breathed heavily.
“Ah Li, we need to quickly leave.” Fang Lin said as he got out of the river.
“Mhmm. Let’s go.” Ouyang Li climbed out before smiling at Fang Lin.
“No wonder second elder was so against you leaving.” Fang Lin said shaking his head as he walked back the way they came from.
“Hehe.” Ouyang Li smiles and rubbed his nose before going on alert as the sudden rustle of leaves.
Fang Lin narrowed his eyes as he turned his head at the direction the noise came from and stepped closer with Ouyang Li trailing behind.
What welcomed them was the sight of a bloodied teen with over worldly beauty.
Straight nose and dainty eyebrows with a long straight nose and pinkish red lips that were stained with blood. He clothing he wore was tattered and mixed with dirt but it didn’t hide his beauty one bit.
The teen seemed to in harmony with nature even with the blood all over him.
“This…” Ouyang Li and Fang Lin were dumbfounded.
“He’s gotta be a big shot, right?” Ouyang Li asked Fang Lin.
“I don’t recognise him. If he is then think of the things we could get for the sect. Seeing from the material his tattered clothes is made from, which even the sect master’s attire can’t be on par, we could get a favour from him for the sect. Since we’re preparing to go to war with Black Mountain Sect, we’ll turn things around when we they have the upper hand.” Fang Lin spoke before recalling that they had to leave quickly.
“I’ll carry him and you lead the way.” Fang Lin said while carefully picking up Bo Yongliang and followed Ouyang Li who was thinking of Bo Yongliang’s identity.
After a short while they arrived outside the forest and Fang Lin passed Bo Yongliang to Ouyang Li.
“He’s so light…” Ouyang Li muttered in surprise.
“Wait, why is qi entering my body?” Ouyang Li said in surprise.
“Why do you think he was like that?” Fang Lin asked.
“It’s his ability!” Ouyang Li answered.
“En.” Fang Lin nodded.
The two didn’t know that it as just that the Qi wanted to enter Bo Yongliang’s body, but because Bo Yongliang hadn’t begun cultivating the Qi couldn’t enter so they just entered Ouyang Li’s body instead using him as a bridge since he was carrying Bo Yongliang.
Only a part of the Qi remained in Ouyang Li’s body but this was equivalent to an hour of meditating.
“So why did you hand him over to me?” Ouyang Li eyed Fang Lin with suspicion.
“You’re annoying me now.” Fang Lin replied as he elbowed Ouyang Li before running ahead.
“Forgot about the three.” Ouyang Li murmured before catching up and the two soon reached the entrance of the sect.
There was a towering black gate stood in between two white ceramic-like walls. The walls were tall and seemed as if nothing could scratch it.
Above the gates was a plaque that read Amethyst Bamboo Sect on a strange purple marble-like material.
Ouyang Li and Fang Li surveyed the surroundings before walking up the disciples guarding the gates.
When the two disciples saw Ouyang Li and Fang Li, they hurriedly greeted them before curiously examining the youth in Ouyang Li’s back but they got stunned instead.
“A man.” Ouyang said pointing to Bo Yongliang before walking inside, it took a few minutes to reach the centre of the sect where his father, Ouyang Long, was waiting for him.
What greeted him was a crowd wanting to see the mysterious ‘beauty’ that he ‘saved’.
Ouyang Li quickly avoided them and walked toward Ouyang Long with Fang Lin who acted like an ice block like he always did in front of those he wasn’t close to.
Ouyang Long was a handsome man with a small black beard. He had sharp narrowed eyes and a straight nose as well as sharp jaw which made him look fierce.
Ouyang Li looked similar only his eyes were less narrow and had no beard.
“Greetings Father, son has returned safely.” Ouyang Li greeted before meeting his father’s relaxed gaze.
“Who is this?” Ouyang Long asked he scrutinised Bo Yongliang.
“A person from that place. We chanced upon HIM when we escaped from the pursuit of Black Mountain Sect.” Ouyang Li emphasised ‘him’ as he glanced at Fang Lin who was nodding.
“That- Good. As for Black Mountain, they can wait for their demise.” Ouyang Long smiled deviously as the surroundings disciples, females, sighed in relief while others, males, sighed from regret.
The females were elated that Ouyang Li had not been taken while the males were regretting that Bo Yongliang was a Male and not a female.
“Take him to room to rest. We’ll meet him once he has awakened.” Ouyang Long spoke slightly regretting that he chose to meet Ouyang Li here.
He hated his son being followed by these moronic girls.
Only one who fully understands his son is allowed to take him.
Meanwhile, Bo Yongliang was in darkness unaware of the outside world.
All he could see was black until he looked down and saw a white orb.
His mind froze in shock before happiness took over him.
“White! White! This must be white!” He beamed recalling that Bo Mei said the opposite of black is white. It was extremely eye catching in black and could easily be seen.
Bo Yongliang was too happy a pair of eyes appeared behind him.
“It seems you like it here.” A voice sounded.
“Eh?” Bo Yongliang paused before turned around and saw a pair of swirling yin yang eyes staring at him.
The moment they entered his sight, he was fascinated.
“Haha, such amusement you bring me. This is a space where you can meet my will. Once you reach Unity of Extremity using this technique will I appear before you and take you on as my disciple. Hopefully you unlock your Innate Eyes before then.” The voice boomed.
The voice belonged to Wanshan Hexie who was currently summing up what he thought about Bo Yongliang.
Bo Yongliang was stunned at the events that had occurred before him and spotted a book with colour he had never seen before in front him.
“Remember this, as the disciple-in-name of Wanshan Hexie, you must never bow down to anyone but the heavens, earth and parents.” Wanshan Hexie continued.
“You can only kowtow to me.” He added.
“…En.” Bo Yongliang absentmindedly answered.
“Good. Now wake up. You have a long way to reach the Unity if Extremities. Also that’s a manual, the colour is called grey.” Wanshan Hexie kindly informed.
“And these two floating orbs in front of you are called eyes.” He added.
“En…” Bo Yongliang nodded with fascination.
“So those are eyes…” He thought before looking at the grey book.
It was tattered and had no name so he curiously opened it but then he realised something.
He couldn’t read.
