Blind Dragon - Chapter 3
Bo Yongliang didn’t know what Wanshan Hexie meant by wake up but then he felt his body on something soft.
He was confused until he heard a footstep and twitched his finger to see if the other party would react.
“Hmm?” A voice sounded and he footsteps came closer.
Bo Yongliang figured since the person wasn’t doing anything, he could just wake up.
Seeing the finger of the owner twitch, the disciple who was watching over Bo Yongliang looked over and saw his eyelid twitch too.
“I have to alert senior brother Ouyang and senior brother Fang!” The disciple said as he rushed outside.
“Senior? Sect?” Bo Yongliang muttered as he sat up.
“Why would anyone pick someone who got struck by lighting a hundred times?…” Bo Yongliang thought as he opened eyes only to be dumbfounded.
He saw dots of colours he had never seen before but there were little.
“What?…” Bo Yongliang stared off into space not knowing how to deal with the current current situation.
Unfortunately they were just floating in darkness so it meant that he still couldn’t see.
He shut his eyes to think of what it was but he still couldn’t find an answer.
Suddenly, the door opened and three figures came in.
Ouyang Li, Ouyang Long and Fang Lin.
Bo Yongliang calmed himself before remembering his bag.
“My bag isn’t here…” He muttered before turning his head to where the footsteps stopped.
“You’ve awakened.” Ouyang Long spoke while Ouyang Li and Fang Lin were listening carefully to see if Bo Yongliang would speak again. Although his voice was quiet, it was as day to them.
“Yong Liang.” Bo Yongliang spoke only his name in case he would be discovered. Although no one had seen his appearance personally, his name might have been circulated as his existence had been hidden for safety.
Bo Yongliang opened his eyes and saw the dots floating around but they avoided three tall things with a strange shape.
Bo Yongliang deduced that they were his benefactors. He was intrigued by the strange shape and saw that each one had similar or different coloured dots near them.
“Blind?!” Ouyang Li widened his eyes in surprise.
“Yong Liang thanks benefactors.” Bo Yongliang stood up and bowed to their direction which surprised the three.
“I would like ask if benefactors has seen a straw bag beside my body when you had discovered me?” Bo Yongliang asked trying to not seem worried.
Ouyang Long answered while Fang Lin and Ouyang Li were recalling if they did see one.
“I am not your benefactor. My son and his friend discovered you when they escaped from pursuers. From their expressions, it seems they did not see it.” Ouyang Long pointed at them one by one to test if Bo Yongliang could see.
Bo Yongliang followed his stick like thing which seemed be a body part called ‘finger’.
It was pointed at Ouyang Li and then Fang Lin.
“No matter… it must have disintegrated when I was struck by lightning.” Bo Yongliang muttered before asking them a question.
“Have you heard of Jade Gale City?”
Ouyang Long pondered for a moment before shaking his and answered, “Never heard of it.”
Ouyang Li and Fang Lin were interested where Bo Yongliang came from.
“Then where is this?”
Bo Yongliang asked as he tried not to reveal his feelings.
If he didn’t know where he was, how would he return back home? What if he was on the other side of the world?
Bo Yongliang didn’t know what to do and panicked inwardly.
Unknown to Bo Yongliang, his emotions slightly influenced the qi surrounding him and they drifted toward him slowly.
Ouyang Long was able to discover Bo Yongliang’s current state although it was hidden very well especially since no emotion could be seen in his grey eyes while also feeling a that there was a slight fluctuation in the surrounding qi.
“Tiankong Continent, Midnight Sun Empire. We are currently in Amethyst Bamboo sect within Lilac Orchid City.” Ouyang Long responded while noting that Bo Yongliang was probably someone who descended from powerful people as he was able to influence the qi albeit it was still minute.
Bo Yongliang furrowed his brows slightly before relaxing as he gave up.
No matter where he was, he would return no matter what it took, even if he had to become a slave for some nobody.
Anything was fine if he could tell them that he was alive and kicking.
Ouyang Long turned Ouyang Li and Fang Lin who were quiet throughout.
“Do you have any requests?” Ouyang Li finally spoke up.
“…Not at the moment.” Bo Yongliang replied slowly thinking of how he could return.
He actually wanted them to teach him how to read but it was useless as he couldn’t divulge the nameless technique Wanshan Hexie gave him.
He paused before asking a question.
“What are Innate Eyes?”
At those words, Ouyang Long’s eyes dilated before returning to normal.
“They are but mere myths. They are a type of eyes that are said to surpass Celestial Eyes. Celestial Eyes each have have various abilities that harm or aid the bearer. There are a total fifty three recorded and are ranked based on their abilities that have been discovered.” Ouyang Long said while cursing his son for letting him doing the talking.
Bo Yongliang pondered on it before sighing softly.
“I will leave tomorrow morning. Sorry for troubling you.” Bo Yongliang suddenly spoke.
“No, no. It’s okay to stay here as long as you want, we’ve already gained the permission from the others and one more person makes no difference.” Ouyang Long said hastily.
The elders and sect master would be forced to agree once they hear that Bo Yongliang was able to manipulate qi with his emotions.
He could tell Bo Yongliang was an unprecedented genius, the sect master would be happy instead.
“I’ll have to thank you all then.” Bo Yonglaing greeted before planning to go back to that space and resume looking at the words in the manual.
They were very complex and he felt useless not knowing how to read.
“Then we’ll leave.” Ouyang Long said before deciding to ground the two chickens beside him for a month.
Ouyang Li had a reluctant expression of his face. He wanted to know more about where Bo Yongliang was from but he couldn’t manage to speak for some reason.
It was the same for Fang Lin.
They just left everything to Ouyang Long and they felt okay since they would be awkward facing someone who most likely came from a place where there were many powerful people who would crush them as if a gods.
Bo Yongliang watched the black strange shaped figures figures and his mind was assaulted by worry and guilt.
What if he never returned? What if he was already presumed dead? What if they moved away before he reached his home?
He didn’t know what to do.
Thinking of these thoughts, Bo Yongliang pinched his arm as hard as he could.
It was no use thinking about this.
“I shouldn’t wallow in despair…” Bo Yongliang chanted in his mind to calm himself down.
“First I have to sort things out and learn everything about cultivation and then begin cultivate. If I can’t then I should search for other options.” Bo Yongliang said quietly to himself.
He felt better when he spoke to himself.
“Only then should I begin and go back home.”
Bo Yongliang shut his eyes and took a deep breath before thinking about the lightning that struck him.
“At least the heavens gave me a bit of sight…” Bo Yongliang whispered as he thought maybe he would be able to see.
Only he didn’t know that being blind was his fate.
Fate, destiny, they were both the same.
He knew the heavens could be defied but fate could not.
Fate was the controller.
Fate would never give birth to an unknown variable unless it decides the fate for that being.
Bo Yongliang thought of books when he thought of fate.
The author could he considered as fate to the characters in the book.
Everything was written by the author like how fate had written the lives of many.
“Maybe fate will be generous to me…” Bo Yongliang muttered at he turned to the side and tried to fall asleep.
He felt tired.
He wanted to sleep and forget everything for just that period of time.
Maybe everything was a dream and he never left in the first place.
But Bo Yongliang knew this was wishful thinking.
There was no way he could colours in a random, long dream.
He slowly fell asleep thinking of his family while his presence caused a ruckus in the sect.
