Blind Dragon - Chapter 4
When Bo Yongliang attempted to fall asleep, he couldn’t.
Maybe it was because he missed his family or he was scared to be all alone.
He didn’t know.
Bo Yongliang took a deep breath and turned around before sitting up in frustration. He had already decided that he would return strong enough to repay them for what they had done. He clenched his fists and slowly sat up before holding his head and sighing.
He regret leaving, very badly.
But then he thought maybe it was good idea.
Still, he kept changing his mind before he finally fell asleep due to fatigue.
…
“I forgot about his bag…” Wanshan Hexie muttered as he held the the bag in his hand.
“I’ll just give it to him when I visit him next time.” He decided before lifting his finger in the open and his eyes shut.
Wanshan Hexie mumbled a few words before his finger shone white and dimmed a moment later, returning to black.
“He should be able to read now.” Wanshan Hexie said to himself before sighing.
“So lonely… It’s all about youth. I miss those days…” Wanshan Hexie reminisced his past.
‘I really was a handsome trouble maker.’ He thought before sighing and his figure vanished.
…
In a spacious room in the Amethyst Bamboo Sect, five men were sat discussing vehemently.
“I told you it’s impossible!” A man, who seemed to be in his thirties, shouted as he slammed the table.
“What do you know? He can influence qi with just his emotions!” Ouyang Long spat out as he tried to calm himself.
“Then show us!” The man ordered.
Ouyang Long clenched his fist before cursing the man in his mind.
‘Go to hell, Di Tianhao! You son of a cow! Always stumping the growth of the sect!’ He thought before he swept his eyes to the other three men.
One was the same age as Ouyang Long. He was called Bu Xiaolong. He had a cold demeanour and sharp cold eyes but he was a person who did his very best for the sect. When he met Ouyang Long’s eye nodded before smiling faintly.
The second man looked old but savage and murderous. It was only due to his pressed aura leaking out. He was called Xu Xuan and he was the one out of them all who battled the most. He was always neutral but his curiosity was piqued by what Ouyang Long said about Bo Yongliang.
The last man was the sect master, Tang Fengwei, and he looked almost average.
His eyes were closed but if opened, they were pure amethyst and enticed both men, excluding monks, and women. This was the the result of the secret art of the Amethyst Bamboo Sect which was handed down to him by his master. Other than his eyes, his skin was pale but it also glistened brightly as if a gem.
The four silently waited for Tang Fengwei to speak.
“Take us to him.” Tang Fengwei spoke slowly before he opened his eyes.
“Immediately.” Ouyang Long said as he stood up to lead them.
…
Bo Yongliang snapped his eyes open at the sudden feeling of something moving.
He felt something powerful nearby and sat up alerted. Like before, the qi slowly, extremely slowly, rotated around him as if coaxing him.
The door slowly opened and Ouyang Long appeared with four men behind him.
Bo Yongliang immediately guessed their intention as he opened his blind eyes to be fascinated again.
Ouyang Li seemed to be the second strongest of them all and the one right behind him seemed to be the strongest.
Bo Yongliang noticed how more of the dots were drawn toward him and ignored everyone else.
“They’re moving toward you unlike the others.” Bo Youngliang muttered with amazement.
He was extremely curious.
He didn’t know that the qi were also rotating around slightly faster as if wanting to be absorbed.
“So it seems you were right.” The man chuckled as he nodded at Ouyang Li with approval.
“You are Yong Liang?” The man asked softly.
“En.” Bo Yongliang nodded before turning to the other three.
He saw a bulky man and was amazed at such a big figure.
“I am Tang Fengwei.” Tang Fengwei introduces himself.
Bo Yongliang blinked trying to remember the name and he looked to other three again.
Ouyang Long silently watched while wanting to laugh at Di Tianhao right now.
Tang Fengwei smiled while watching Bo Yongliang who was curiously looking at Xu Xuan, Di Tianhao and Bu Xiaolong.
Di Tianhao was slightly paled as he felt the qi shift to the young boy’s emotions.
Unlike him, Bu Xiaolong was excited. He was a swordsman and he was able to tell at a glance that Bu Yongliang was talented with the sword. He just knew.
Xu Xuan was looking at Bo Yongliang with approval. Although he was blind, the boy was extremely talented.
“Thank you for allowing me to stay here.” Bo Yongliang remembered he was still on bed and hurriedly bowed.
“No need to worry, child. Instead, we would like to ask a favour of you.” Tang Fengwei laughed lightly before signalling the four to leave.
They complied and Ouyang Long gave Bo Yongliang a thumbs up.
Only the receiver had no idea what it mean so he just shrugged it off.
“Feel free to ask.” Bo Yongliang replied. They were currently lending a place to stay so it was wrong for him to not give anything back.
“I would to ask if you can stay here as a disciple, as my disciple if possible.” Tang Fengwei said hoping Bo Yongliang wasn’t taken.
“I can stay however I already have a master.” Bo Yongliang answered.
He had already knew Wanhan Hexie was most likely at the peak.
He obviously had innate eyes which were but mere myths in this place.
“No matter. If you have any requests, feel free to ask.” Tang Fengwei was slightly disappointed but he smiled knowing it was impossible in the first place. Such a talented boy, he was unworthy to be his master in the first place.
“If it won’t trouble you, I would like to hear the basics of cultivation or anything similar to it.” Bo Yongliang said after a pause.
Tang Fengwei was surprised before smiling.
“There are four types of cultivation. Internal, which involves the circulation of qi and is the most common. The second is external which involves the tempering of physique. This is uncommon as it is equivalent to tormenting one’s own body. This is an option one can choose if they have little talent in internal cultivation or do both which is rare. The third is exceedingly rare and is the hardest of all; soul cultivation which involves in cultivation the soul.” Tang Fengwei paused before looking at Bo Yongliang with a serious expression.
“The last however is the most outrageous of all. Those who cultivate that are to be killed at all costs. They are known as demonic cultivators as they use the blood of others to rise in cultivation. This is only used by those who seek a fast improvement or those who have no talent in cultivation whatsoever. Some can even be converted into demonic cultivators if they let their inner demon take over them. These cultivators are usually bloodthirsty and do all sorts of evil deeds such as **** and massacres.” Tang Fengwei noticed the qi fluctuated and knew Bo Yongliang had a reaction.
Currently, Bo Yongliang had his brows furrowed but he changed his attention to the three previous ones.
“So how does one measure their talent in these?” Bo Yongliang asked curiously.
“One’s talent is usually tested at the age of three or five. These people are mainly rich people. For those who cannot, they are usually from poor families who have no money and choose to be tested at the sect entrance exams which we also check their cultivation and age. To answer your question, only two talents can be checked but due to scarcity of soul arts only internal cultivation talent is checked. This can be checked by stones called spirit stones. I will explain it more detail later.” Tang Fengwei said wondering why Bo Yongliang did not know this.
“Thank you. If I must say, if I say say or do I anything improper in the future, please forgive me as I have little knowledge on the outside world.” Bo Yongliang explained.
Tang Fengwei nodded before speaking again.
“We will take you to test your aptitude tomorrow, for now you may rest.” He said before leaving.
Bo Yongliang remained silent for a while before smiling.
He laughed a little before tears ran down his face.
“I can finally begin… I will definitely come back!” He muttered as he wiped his tears smiling.
He was extremely happy.
Just how many years had he wanted to help them?
He not only wanted to repay them, he would give them the whole world if he had to.
Bo Yongliang breathed in slowly before looking at the dots in the black world.
He closed his eyes and sat on the wall, leaning in the wall.
He smiled a bit before sitting up straight.
He concentrated on forgetting himself, forgetting everything, feeling nothing and calm his mind.
He just felt like doing this.
Once a breath of time passed, he fell into a deep trance and the nameless manual appeared in his mind.
It opened itself and the characters glowed bright white and swirled above him as vortex before trembling and vanishing.
Bo Yongliang felt a bit of pain at the sudden words entering his mind.
He could somehow know that they meant and suppressed his happiness as he realised the words were extremely profound.
He felt as if he was nothing.
He was in this state for a while and opened his eyes when the feeling faded.
He regained his senses other than sight and felt something sticky beneath his clothes and tried to block his nose but the sticky substance was on his hands too.
He had no knowledge of what it was but he did not like it one but.
He suddenly sneezed and felt as if he was bathed in warm water.
He remembered his mother, Kan Ningzhu. It felt as if he was hugged very warmly.
Before he could enjoy it, it vanished and Bo Yongliang was stupefied that he sticky substance had mysteriously vanished.
He closed his hands and opened them again only to blink a few times when he felt the feeling change.
They were smooth and soft.
Sudden knocks sounded and Bo Yongliang lifted his head to the door.
Tang Fengwei entered and stopped when his eyes landed on Bo Yongliang. Bo Yongliang looked more refined and had a air of a higher being. His hair was more black and his skin was more white.
But most of all, the qi surrounding him were stuck to him as if hugging him.
His hands trembled slightly and he spoke in a trembling voice.
“Origin of Heaven!”
“What’s that?” Bo Yongliang blurted.
Tang Fengwei paused and looked at Bo Yongliang as if he was a creature that surpassed the greatest of monsters.
“…It is only achieved by those who have received heaven’s tempering.” He explained in a trembling as his eyes gleamed before dimming.
Such a genius would leave eventually.
His eyes brightened when he remembered the Hidden Dragons tournament was held next year and smiled before looking at Bo Yongliang with joy.
‘Heaven’s tempering…’
Bo Yongliang narrowed his eyes.
His head went down slightly.
Tang Fengwei noticed this and his smile became bigger.
Bo Yongliang remembered what he was supposed to come here for and hurriedly got up.
“Apologies for not greeting…” Bo Yongliang trailed off realising that Tang Fengwei had a special position.
“Sect master.” Tang Fengwei answered.
“I’ll take you the test grounds immediately. As soon as you have been tested, you will move to the core disciples district.” Tang Fengwei explained.
“I want to start from the bottom.” Bo Yongliang suddenly spoke.
“I’ll get someone to organise it immediately.” Tang Fengwei responded not asking the reason.
He could guess the reason and shook his head.
Those brats needed a lesson anyway.
Bo Yongliang smiled softly before following Tang Fengwei.
He was once again fascinated at the surroundings.
