Blood demon leveling - Chapter 148
“So… Who wants to go first?”
In front of Mike was the four new dragons in their dragon from
[Wait a moment Azroth… This non-human… Why does his aura feel so sinister?]
Mike sighed, he figured that this was going to take some time so he gestured for Azroth to respond
[Enei did you think we would be asking a pure soul for a part of their power? Also, this is going to be our master for the next 500 years so treat him with a little respect]
The youngest one, Enei pouted before she stayed silent, to Mike’s surprise this was it, it didn’t take all that long so he asked again
“Who wants to go first?”
Silence followed, just as Mike was about to sigh again one of the dragons spoke up
[Well then, I’ll go first, I am the oldest, after all, my name is Tairiss master]
“Nice to meet you Tairiss”
Mike spoke to the dragon that had bright red scales and blue eyes, then he drew the knife and spun it around before he disappeared from view and reappeared once again behind Tairiss that now had a small cut on their body
[It really did go through… Doesn’t it hurt sister Tairiss?]
[No it’s fine Enei, don’t worry about me, though I am rather interested in that knife now…]
Mike felt a shiver go through his spine and quickly moved back to his original spot, when he did Azroth spoke up
[I thought you would insist on going first Miemmar?]
The dragon with brown scale stayed silent as if he had not heard Azroth’s teasing, so of course, Azroth did the sensible thing and laid it on thick
[It’s fine and all, I just thought you had something to prove to a certain someone?]
[Really? Who’s this person Big brother Miemmar?]
The dragon named Miemmar became a little flustered when Enei spoke to him, Mike showed a smile before he spoke
“Then I guess Enei is next?”
[No! I’ll do it next… Can’t let Enei do something potentially dangerous!]
Mike showed a smile as Miemmar easily reacted as he expected
“Then here I go”
[I am ready]
Mike disappeared from view and reappeared in his original spot again leaving a cut on Miemmar’s brown scales, then he looked at the only dragon that had not spoken yet and asked
“Do you want to go next, Chadam?”
[If that’s what you think is best… Master]
“Okay then here I go”
Mike disappeared from view and left a cut on Chadam’s black scales, then before he reappeared he also left a cut on Enei’s scales that let out a cute yelp
[That’s mean master…]
“I figured it would be best to not give you a warning, sorry”
[Oh… In that case, I forgive you, master]
“Then that’s that… [Control]”
Mike disappeared from view as he spoke the words [Control] still Tairiss managed to figure out something was wrong and sent her tail out like a whip and hit him on the shoulder which made him fly back into the forest, then an immeasurable pain hit the four dragons as their souls were forcefully removed ever so slowly, Tairiss let out a scream
[You cheated us Azroth! This is a DEMON!]
Azroth laughed out loud as he responded to Tairiss that was paralyzed by the pain of her soul being ripped away slowly
[I never cheated you! This is the price!]
Azroth flew into the air and began circling above the other four dragons as he sent a mental message to Mike
[Master, are you alright?]
“Yep… Just fine, this is a 4 by the way”
As Mike judged the amount of pain he was in he stood up and looked at his shoulder which had turned into mush on the inside, the skin on the side he could see was blue and his right arm hang down limply
“It’s good that it didn’t fly off somewhere… Would have been a pain to find again…”
As Mike complained his shoulder was slowly regenerating even without him using [Drink], this was due to his high levels of elder blood, or at least Mike believed it to be so
‘Well, it’s probably that… Right?’
Alas the slow regeneration was to slow for his liking so he muttered
“[Drink]”
Then as the sounds of his shoulder reconstructing sounded out, he walked back towards the city, he had tasked Azroth to take care of the dragons while they were… Changing
When he returned to the city he was met with a storm of concern and outrage over his broken or rather mushed shoulder with a few of the wind sprits even promising death to the one that had hurt their dear master, Mike eventually managed to calm them down, but when Julie saw she summoned her wings without a word and was about to fly off and find the dragon responsible before Mike also calmed her down and soothed her over, this took an entire afternoon of course, but those were small and insignificant details, the more important details was that the four dragons finished changing and returned to the city, Tairiss seemed very apologetic as she lowered her head down and nearly growled on the ground as she spoke
[I am very sorry master…]
“…Do you regret your actions?”
[I do master… I was blind but now I see]
“That’s good then, be sure to do better in the future… I’ll gouge out your eyes if you don’t”
[Yes master]
“Now then to the important part, this is Julie, my wife, she’s your mistress and you will follow her words as if its mine”
[[[[Yes master, we greet you mistress]]]]
Julie showed a smile, she no longer felt the need to be hard on Tairiss for hurting her husband
“Now then, you are free to hunt in the surrounding areas, just don’t eat people from the wind spirit race and inform me if you eat any other people, non-human or not”
[[[[Yes master]]]]
“Okay then… Enei, you’ll be guarding the west, Miemmar the North, Chadam the east and Tairiss the south, don’t hesitate to report to me if you find something strange, now go”
Then Mike turned to Azroth and spoke to him
“You’ll guard the city, your job will be to be the first to reinforce the other dragons if an attack happens”
[Yes master]
Mike sighed before he turned to Julie and held out his left hand and spoke
“Let’s go find something to eat, shall we?”
“Sure, let’s go, Mike”
Day 41 since the ascension proved to be a significant one, it was the day where the last Wind spirit returned from the outside lands, as for the reason why they were able to do it so fast was simple, They quickly got a rumor for being cannibals on the outside which meant that most people would leave them alone, also the rumor that they all were escaping at the same time sparked some superstitions about why they were escaping so some people just released their enslaved Wind spirits while some slave dealers simply killed every single one in their inventory and dumped them in mass graves, which they would become empty the next day, most of the Wind spirits that arrived were battered and bruised as Mike expected, some were even missing a limb or in worst case two, though they would slowly regenerate after a few months it was still painful to look at, so Mike gave them a few more hair ruffles
“Well then, that’s all 4.895 Wind spirits gathered in one city, or the surrounding area at least… What was next on the list again?”
While Mike had organized the dragons’ Jane woke up from a coma, she felt groggy for a few moments until she remembered what she had been doing before she passed out
“That voice… It has to be the one that escaped recently… Why do they know my name?”
She sat herself up on the bed and looked around, as usual, she was alone, but this was something which she was used to after all it was her burden to carry
“…I need a shower”
Jane got out of bed and took a quick shower before she stepped out and got dressed, after she got dressed she walked out of her room and went to find some food while she thought
‘…I am the hero of this story… In that case, was that the villain?’
The more she thought about it the more sure she was, after all, it was her mission that was just, she began to form a mental image of the one that got away
‘From the tone of voice, it has to be a man… And since he is the villain he has to be a non-human…’
The image in her mind got more and more clear, what she was not aware of was that she was being fed information about the higher power that had sent her on her mission, they too had found out that the elder demon was targeting their inheritor, so soon she had a clear image of Mike in her mind
‘…I’ll kill you for sure! Kill you, finish my mission and return home!’
A White light shone in Jane’s eyes as she swore
