Bloody Secrets - 10 She Died
ACE KIEN FIERA
The cold breeze of the wind continues to touch my skin as I ran faster and faster towards that place. My heart continues to pound and I can’t help myself to cry. Hence at that moment, my world stopped when a gunshot rang out all over the place.
“AVIANA!” I shouted in rage.
I heard a gunshot. I saw how her eyes changed its gaze towards mine. I saw how she sadly smiled. I saw how she whispered my name. I saw her cried. I saw her. I saw how the bullet landed in her body. I saw it with my pair of eyes. I again looked at Aviana and she’s now looking at me crying helplessly.
“I’m sorry.” She whispered from afar and now began to run away. I tried to run after her but someone shot my leg that made me fall on to the grounds.
“Ahhhhh.” I looked at the person who did that as I howled in pain and it was none other than Mr. De Lave. That old man who’s with Aviana.
“Don’t worry little boy. I will not kill you.” He said and came near me. After that, he kissed my forehead. It surprised me, so I pushed him hard but his men caught him from falling. They were about to shoot me but he stopped them.
“NO!” He shouted.
“Let’s go.” He commanded and finally walked away from me. The next thing I know is that a helicopter is flying in the sky. Why did this happen to us? I breathed heavily as my tears poured towards the ground.
“AVA!” A woman suddenly shouted in despair. There I saw mom running towards my sister then she immediately hugged her body. Her body which is… I slowly came near them and when I was next to my sister. I saw her eyes closed. Her lips were pale. She looks cold so I hold on to her hands but that only made me numb. I grinned as my tears started to fall again.
“Ava!” I called but she’s not waking up. Blood continued to fall from her chest. I touched her face and her skin is cold. I looked at mom and she’s still crying.
“Ava, wake up!” I calmly called for her but there’s still no response. I shook her body but she still doesn’t want to wake up.
“Why!” I asked desperately and squeezed her cold hands. Why does it have to be you?
“M-my Princess…” I heard someone called. I looked and saw Dad walking towards us with his men holding their guns. I can see in my father’s eyes that he couldn’t believe that this happened to my sister? That this happened to her daughter. That this could happen to us.
“Ava, my princess,” Dad called my sister again. When he finally realized that she can’t wake up, he fell onto his knees. My sister didn’t move nor responded to him.
“Ava….” He called and cried.
Why did this happen to her?
Why did they include her?
My sister who does not know the world that she is living in. My sister who has no intention of hurting anyone around her. My sister who is not by our side anymore. I saw how she died right in front of me. I saw how Aviana pulled the trigger to kill her. I saw how she killed her.
Aviana… Indeed, you are a dangerous girl. Now I know that you are a demon hidden in the form of an angel.
Everyone is here today, my relatives I mean. Everyone was dressed in black and they were carrying white roses in their hands. I took a glimpse at my parents who were sitting in front and they were just there. Doing nothing but looking at my sister’s coffin which is currently going inside the tomb.
I realized that ever since my mom and dad cried towards Ava’s lifeless body, I never saw them cry again. I too never cried anymore. It seems useless to cry, now that it can’t bring her back. There’s nothing we can do but to send her away because grieving to the dead won’t bring them back to life.
I looked up the sky because I noticed that the surroundings became dark but it’s still morning. The sky seems about to cry. Looking at my sister’s tomb might be the most painful thing that ever happened to me. I didn’t even expect that she will get involved in this world of ours. Hence, yes. Let us say she’s involved but never did we expect this to happen. I didn’t expect this to happen, killing and dying.
“Ace…” Someone called behind me. I didn’t bother to look. I’m just looking straight at the name engraved on this tombstone.
“I took an early flight just to be here.” He added and gently patted my shoulders. It made me cry. I don’t know why? But I think that I just needed a shoulder to cry on to. I’ve been holding it back since the night she died.
“Everything will be okay.” He said and hugged me.
“She killed her Sean… She killed her.” I stated in my cries. He didn’t say anything and just caressed my back.
“Everything happens for a reason.” He stated.
“She maybe has a reason too.” He added and that made me look at him.
What does he mean she had a reason? Is he crazy or maybe stupid? She killed my sister! My only sister! Did she ever even think that this will hurt me? Did she ever think that because of this I could resent her forever? Did she ever even think of me? I thought that we can finally be together. I never expect that she could do this to me. She can kill those people whom I love deeply.
“Don’t defend her.” I just stated. I just don’t have the energy to argue now. But I started gritting my teeth.
“She doesn’t deserve it,” I added and started to walk.
“I’ll pretend that I never heard it from you,” I said then proceeded to walk away.
Everything seems to finally change.
