Bloody Secrets - 22 What are you doing?
AVIANA SKYE FIERA
I’ve been staring at the scar on my chest for an hour now. I slightly touched it and it just reminds me of what happened at the party. A tear again had escaped from my eyes. When will I stop crying? I wiped it off and breathed heavily.
I opened the closet and chose a white sleeveless dress and on the right side of the room, there are boxes of heels piled up. I got one and wore it. After I finished, I decided to go downstairs. Although I feel uneasy, I want to see my parents, their graves I mean.
As I was walking, I stumbled on to something. I picked it up and it was an album, a music album. I saw Sean’s face at the cover, smiling and holding a guitar. I remember that he was a singer. I wonder if he’s still singing? I continued to walk towards the living room and there I saw him watching the news. He seems to be preoccupied.
“Sean Lockhart, the young singer suddenly quits for personal reasons.” The reporter stated on the TV. This must be the reason why he’s like that. I looked at Sean again and he’s just blankly staring at the TV. He didn’t even notice me standing here. I guess that he misses singing.
“Sean,” I called and there he finally looked at me.
“Let’s go.” He just said and smiled. He smiled like everything is okay with him. He smiled even though his eyes look so sad. He stood up from the sofa then proceeded to walk but when I was about to follow him. I suddenly felt dizzy. I know that I was about to fall but thankfully Sean caught me. I should have a rest last night. I didn’t sleep because I just can’t.
“I guess that we should bring a wheelchair.” He stated and smiled. He called for a maid and ordered her to get a wheelchair. We waited for her to get it and when she came back, she has it. I noticed that I saw this beside my bed. I carefully sat down then Sean pushed it gently.
When we were finally outside, I looked at Sean and he’s just smiling. That smile seems fake thought. It wasn’t his real smile. Long after, we were finally in the car. He helped me to get in then he put the wheelchair at the back seat. After that, he got in also. Then he drove towards where my parents are buried.
I just decided to look at the road. Where are my parents buried though? The question suddenly popped inside my head. I hope that they are peacefully resting. As I was silently staring at the road, he suddenly caressed my head.
“What?” I asked. I was surprised but I didn’t make him feel awkward. I sounded like I didn’t mind.
“Nothing.” He replied and smiled brightly. He seems happy now.
He finally stopped the car when we were in front of the cemetery. He got out then gets the wheelchair at the back. After that, he went towards me to open the door and helped me to sit in the wheelchair. Thereafter, he got the flowers that I saw a while ago at the back seat and from there he started to push me to get inside the cemetery. I noticed that the place is so beautiful.
“Where are they?” I asked and he finally stopped.
“Here we are.” He stated.
“I should leave you right?” He asked. I just nodded. I watched him as he walked away from me. He’s heading towards the car. After that, I looked at my mom and dad’s tombstone. Sean took care of them. I smiled without me noticing.
“Mom… Dad…” I called and can’t help myself to sound helpless. I put down the flowers and smiled at them.
“I’m sorry,” I said.
“I’m so sorry,” I added as I broke out in tears.
“Please forgive me.” I continued to plead as I tried to wipe my tears that kept on falling.
“I won’t let him rest. I won’t forgive him. I’ll kill him. I will let him feel this rage. I will make him suffer then I’ll send him to hell.” I said and looked at the sky.
“Just watch over me. Okay?” I added and smiled. I sighed realizing that I haven’t had the chance to be with them when they were alive. Well, yes, I met them but all I know is that they were my enemy. All I know is that they were nothing. I haven’t had the chance to experience their love.
While I was focused on staring at the sky, I noticed on my peripheral vision that someone is looking at me for a long time now. I looked at the person to see who it was, my eyes widened when I recognized who it is. I felt my body stiffen. I was unable to move. I tried to push my wheelchair but I don’t have the energy. I feel weak. I tried to stand up but I just fell towards the ground. I’m not dreaming, right? I tried to crawl towards him. I’m not dreaming. I started to cry. I look pathetic!
“Ace!” I called but I was surprised when he pointed a gun at me.
“A-Ace?” I called in disbelief. He is Ace, right?
“Aviana!” Sean suddenly shouted and pulled me. However, I was more surprised when Ace pulled the trigger but the bullet landed at the ground. Did he pull the trigger? Did he try to kill me? Ace, is this you? What are you doing? My eyes widened. I can’t believe what is happening right now.
“Can you stand?” Sean asked me when he was finally in front of me.
“It’s Ace,” I said to him but he just stared at me sadly.
“Why are you making that face?” I asked but now he didn’t answer my question. Instead, he carried me towards the car. I heard Ace kept on shooting us.
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
“Ahh.” Sean suddenly shouted in pain. He accidentally let go of me. I noticed him in pain. He was shot at his shoulder.
“I can walk,” I said to him. We started to walk as I tried my best to lead him towards the car. Even though I feel like my body is about to give up, I can’t leave Sean.
When we were finally in the car, I put him at the backseat, it’s much safer there. I tried to stop the bleeding by ripping a part of my dress and tied it towards his wound.
“I’ll drive,” I said and proceeded at the driver’s seat then started the engine. I drove fast as I could.
“Don’t go to a hospital.” He stated out of a sudden. I looked at him at the rear-view mirror, he looks so much in pain.
“Fine,” I answered. I just head towards the house. I know where I’m heading since that I memorized the path that we were taking a while ago. I’m not mesmerizing the scenery. I’m memorizing the road. I looked at him again and he is losing a lot of blood. Damn it! I drove faster.
A minute had passed and we finally arrived at the house. Men helped us to get in, then we went straight to his room.
“Get a first aid kit,” I told some of his maids and they hurriedly bring a kit to me.
“Now get out,” I said and they all went outside.
“Drink this,” I said to him handing a medicine and a glass of water. He did what I ordered him to do.
When he finally closed his eyes. I hurriedly cut off his shirt and saw the wound still bleeding. Thankfully the bullet is not that deep. I started attending his wound. After an hour, I stitch it off. I looked at him and he is just calmly sleeping.
“Thank me when you woke up,” I said. It’s a good thing that I can cure him. I’ve been addressing my wound since I was young, so this isn’t new to me. I lied down beside him
“Thank you,” I said and looked at him.
“I owe you a lot,” I added and closed my eyes.
