I don’t know what happened to me or what’s happening at first but Sean explained it all. He told me what my life was back then and what happened at the party. The party where I started not to remember the girl whom I love. I was surprised that instead of me protecting this girl, she’s been protecting me with her life.

Every week I’ve been visiting them at their new place, secretly. I’ve been careful not to be noticed but Ava found out about it. Well, she didn’t find out she knows. How? Because of Sean. Just like before she knew where they are because of him. She was worried at first but in the end, she let me be.

Ava also told me that she has been killed before and Aviana was accused to be the one who killed her but she did not kill Ava. I don’t remember that she even died. But still, Ava wants me to know that Aviana didn’t pull the trigger back then and it was that old man. That is the reason why she’s afraid of him, though he didn’t intend to kill her. She told me that the impact of the bullet that landed on her body seems like he wanted to kill her.

However, that old man saved her. After the funeral, they managed to get her body and brought her back. The bullet that was used on shooting her has a poison that can stop the heart of a person for about 24 hours, so its as if she died.

When she woke up, the old man told her that she is his granddaughter so she had no choice but to stay with him and wait for me. Because he promised to bring me back to the family, where I should be. I sighed as I tried to remember my past but this head can’t remember a thing. I again looked at the girl in front of me and stared at her wound.

“When will you wake up?” I asked as I held her hand tightly. 10 months had already passed and she’s still sleeping in this bed. I can’t help myself but think if she will ever wake up.

“Ace?” Someone called from the door and its Sean holding a tray. It’s food. I helped him carry it and put it at the table beside Aviana’s bed.

“I heard…” He said and paused. I looked at him wondering how did he found out about it.

“I think it’s for the best,” I replied.

“Then what about her?” He asked.

“If she wakes up, inform me. Okay?” I said and finally stood up. I can’t bear to see her anymore in this state.

“This is my last visit,” I said. It made him slam the table. He was surprised by what I have said.

“Then what about her?” He asked pointing her. He looks furious now.

“Are you going to leave her just like that?” He added but I shook my head and smiled.

“I feel like that this is for the best for her, for us.” I only answered.

“What if she searches for you what will you do!” He asked.

“Then I’ll make her hate me,” I said. Sean leans towards the wall and breathed heavily. He looked at Aviana and smiled.

“Indeed, we are living in this cruel world.” He stated.

“I guess you are right about that,” I stated then began to walk towards him and patted his shoulder.

“Goodbye,” I added and finally left the room. Before I got the chance to go out of the mansion, where they were hiding again. I looked at the room where she was staying. I touched my chest which is pounding very fast now. Damn, this suffocates me. I immediately turn around and never looked back again.

Ava is still waiting for me outside the car. I smiled at her because she looks pissed. She smiled too but her expression suddenly changed. Then she immediately ran towards me. I was surprised when she hugged me.

“Shhh.” She stated. I don’t know but my hands moved on its own and touched my face. Tears had been flowing from my eyes.

“This is for her own good. We don’t want any bloodbath anymore.” She said. Yeah. This is for her.

“Where did you go and again?” Lance asked as we got out of the car.

“It’s none of your business,” I answered and continued to walk. But then I noticed that Ava wasn’t walking beside me so I looked back and saw Lance holding her wrist. Ava is terrified by him, she’s shaking although she was smiling. I hurriedly snatched her away from him and dragged her inside the mansion.

“Don’t come near him again,” I said to her but she didn’t reply.

“Ava.” I calmly called and looked at her.

“Grandpa said, I’m going to marry him.” She said. My eyes widened when I heard those words. She’s going to marry him? Is that old man crazy? Lance is our brother!

I left her and immediately went to his office but when I was finally inside. He wasn’t there. I furiously sat down on the chair beside me. hence, I find myself looking at a picture. I slowly walked near to it and I saw Aviana’s picture. She is wearing this…

“Ahhh. Damn!” I screamed. My head hurts. I tried to calm myself but the pain isn’t going away. All I know is that I seem to fell asleep.

I can’t see anything but I started to hear something…

A man suddenly raised something. It sounds like it was heavy. I think he was holding a gun. It felt like it was pointed at me but I heard it changed on to another direction. I felt someone’s holding my hand. She was shouting but I can’t hear her words properly. I tried to see but all I can do is hear the conversations in my head.

I curled like a lamb from the pain that is causing my head to hurt like crazy. I heard something again but my heart suddenly stopped when I heard someone was shot. It felt like it was real. It felt like it was me who was shot.

“NO!” A girl shouted.

“BOY!” The girl suddenly called. I can hear her.

“It’s Ace…” I suddenly said. I think she doesn’t know my name.

“My name is Ace…” I said and feel suffocated.

“I’m Aviana.” She said. I heard her cry.

“Did you hear me? My name is Aviana.”

I immediately opened my eyes as I stood up from the floor where I’m lying at. My knees were trembling because of what I dreamt of. Is that a dream? Or a memory? I looked at the window from this old man’s office and it seems dark now. I massaged my forehead and felt like it was about to explode. She saved me before.

“Aviana.” I sighed. She saved me before. She’s been risking her life protecting me. I can’t help myself but cry. Damn this world! Why do we have to live like this? I smashed my head hard on to the walls.

“Please remember,” I stated and continued to smash it on to the walls. Why can’t I remember her! Why can’t I see her? I looked at my hands shaking in fear.

I wanted to see her…

But in the end, I gave up and again lied on the floor. Just then the door suddenly opened and Ava entered the room. She looks worried. I tried to stand up but she just let me lie on the floor. She smiled after and gave me something. It was a red rose pin.

“I gave this to you before.” She said and started to cry.

“Before I left our family.” She added.

“What?” I asked.

“They are not our real family but they raised us wholeheartedly and it breaks my heart that they were killed because of Grandpa.” She explained and cried again.

“I’ll find a way to end this,” I said to her. Reassuring her that this will happen.

“Please do.” She stated and wiped her tears.

I will find a way.
