Bloody Secrets - 27 Meeting an old friend
AVIANA SKYE FIERA
Remembering what happened yesterday. The images kept on replaying through my mind. Ace wanted to kill me. It was clear that he’s aiming at me but why? I’m here at Sean’s room to clean his wound again. I still can’t help myself to think why would Ace wanted to kill me? What happened?
Minutes had passed I was absent-minded and focused on cleaning his wound. I didn’t even notice that he’s already awake. He’s staring at the ceiling, blankly. When I was finally finished, he looked at me.
“He doesn’t recognize you.” He said out of a sudden. It made me froze.
“What do you mean?” I asked as I put the towel at the tray which I brought along with the food that I prepared for him.
“He shot himself remember.” He answered without looking at me. It still hurts me when I recall what he has done to himself. It was all my fault.
“He chose to shot his head and because of that he can’t remember anything.” He added. I don’t want to hear this anymore. Why does it have to be his head when there are so many parts of his body to shoot?
I hurriedly stood up and tried not to mind what he said. It breaks my heart when I remember what happened at the party. How my parents died by my own hands. How he warmly smiled at me before pulling the trigger on to his head. It breaks me.
“I’d go out for fresh air,” I stated but he immediately stood up from his bed. I hurriedly went towards him to let him lie down. He shouldn’t be moving for now. The wound is still open and it’s not yet fully healed.
“Don’t move,” I said coldly then stood up. When I noticed that he didn’t move an inch from his bed anymore. I finally left the room. I decided to go outside the house. I want to leave this place for a short time but where should I go?
I find myself walking towards the parking lot. I saw the car which we rode on to. I can use this right? I noticed that the keys were still inside so I tried to open the door. Thank God it’s open. I got inside and started the car.
“Now where to go?” I said to myself. Just then I remembered the place where we went to hide before. The place where we stayed together. I smiled sadly just by thinking of him. I want to go there. I looked at my wristwatch and its 8 am. I should be arriving there at exactly 3 pm by car. I started to drive.
When I finally got there, there’s no sign of people staying. My parents built this house, the people who raised me when I was a child. sunset. They said before when I was a child, I like to see the sunset with the sea. You can see how beautiful it is with its reflection towards the water. I smiled bitterly remembering those two people. I wonder if they even knew I wasn’t their child.
I started to walk. I don’t know where my feet were taking me but I just continued to walk. Long until the sun had finally set before my eyes. I saw where Ace and I used to stand to witness the sunset before, the tree where we used to stand at. I decided to walk there and sat down at the white sand. I observed how the sky changed its color.
I stayed there for an hour, looking. Until the night has finally come. I don’t know but I started to cry without any reason. I tried to stop but these tears kept on falling from my eyes. I can’t help myself to remember him.
“I’m really tired,” I whispered to the winds. Just then I felt that the surroundings started to feel strange. I know that there is someone behind me, standing and watching me. Hence, I didn’t bother to look. If he or she is here to kill me or do something. Please, do it fast.
I closed my eyes and waited but to my surprise instead of a cold knife or a hard bullet touching my body. I felt a cloth wrapped around my body. It was a jacket, a man’s jacket. I turn around to look at the person but he wasn’t there anymore. I smell something weird and again my tears had fallen on its own.
It smells Ace.
I immediately stood up and run. I tried to search for him. Where did you go? I stumbled on to my knees and saw that I had scraped it. My knee hurts but I didn’t mind the pain. I proceeded to run. I continued to search for him but I can’t find him.
I gave up in the end. I sat down desperately. Was it only my imagination? I wanted to see him so it must be. But this jacket, then who lend it to me? I sat down while closing my eyes hoping that when I opened them, I wish that he’s there right in front of me. Even just for a second. I want to see him.
“5… 4… 3… 2…” I started to count.
“1” I whispered as I slowly opened my eyes finding out that there’s no one else but me on this beach. I smiled bitterly.
“This is frustrating,” I said to myself and stood up. However, when I turn around, I froze seeing the figure in front of me. It’s as if my heart was about to explode in my chest. I can hear it pounding fast.
“I’m seeing things again,” I said to myself. There’s no way that he could be here because he doesn’t remember a thing. He doesn’t remember this place and even me.
I just decided to walk but then I bumped on to him. It was like time had stopped as I slowly looked at him in the eyes. I, even more, burst into tears, realizing he was real. I tried to touch his face and yes! He is real. I cried. I can’t believe it. He is here.
“Ace,” I called. I can’t help myself but hug him.
“Ace,” I called again and cried but he didn’t answer me. He didn’t move either. He just stood there and let me be but a few seconds later the moment had changed when a woman suddenly appeared right in front of us.
“What a lovely sight.” She stated and smiled at me playfully. She’s a threat. I stared at her because she looks familiar and there, I smiled realizing who’s this bitch interrupting us.
“If you don’t want to have a scar again better leave us alone,” I said to her and heard her cursed silently.
“We are only here to give this.” She suddenly said and gave me something. It’s an envelope, an invitation perhaps. When I looked at it thoroughly it’s a wedding invitation.
“You’re invited.” She said and pulled Ace away from me. She then kissed his cheeks. The heat started to control my body. She has a death wish.
“At our wedding.” She added and that made me felt numb. Wedding? Marriage? I looked at Ace and he’s averting my eyes. Look at me you damn fool! I thought he was here alone. I thought he remembered me! I thought… I sighed in defeat.
“Thank you for informing me but I don’t like to attend parties,” I said as I looked at Ace coldly.
“Now if you’ll excuse me.” I tried to pass through them but Sophia suddenly grabbed me in the arm.
“Get your hands off me,” I said but she didn’t let it go. She’s irritating me.
This feeling rushing through my veins are starting to wake up again. I glared at her and in just a blink of an eye, she was suddenly thrown towards the tree. I heard her howled in pain. She deserves it. But just then I heard a click sound. A gun was pointed at me? I looked at her and she is now holding a gun. Is she kidding me? I started to walk towards her but now Ace got in between us.
“This is enough.” He stated.
“You know that she’s beneath you.” He added. I snickered a laugh. I’ll let them be, for now. In the end, I had no choice but to turn around and leave them but before I had the chance to take one step away from them. He said something odd.
“I’ll come back.” He whispered. It made me turn to face him again.
“So, take care of yourself.” He added and smiled.
Ace…
I can’t help myself but smile at him. But my tears broke down once more. It’s a relief that he recognizes me. He knows me. He remembers me. Ace. Please come back soon. I’ll do anything to get you back.
“Then goodbye,” I said and turned my back from him.
“For now.” He answered as I continued to walk away. Yes. Goodbye for now and for later, we will welcome our reunion.
