Blossoming Flowers - Chapter 196
When she finally returned to herself, she realized that she had been staring, her face flushed red in embarrassment. She quickly grabbed her clothes and went to the bathroom, rushing past Han Qingshan without even glancing at him again.
He chuckled and shook his head when he sensed how flustered she was, but he said nothing allowing her to escape.
Like this, the days went by. Han Qingshan would tease Jiang Yingyue so much that her face would turn so red, making it seem as if it would drip blood.
He would act shameless, touch her all over and sneak into her bed at night, but he never took it past the last boundary.
While Jiang Yingyue and Han Qingshan’s life was filled with bliss and happiness, the He family was being pushed further and further into a tight spot.
“What do you mean the materials failed to be delivered on time?!” He Julong was furious as he spoke on the phone. He was seated in the home office at the He mansion, and he could not help but rub his forehead in exasperation.
It had all started the day he had met with Zhou Yan. He had met him because he requested an extension on the delivery date for the Heavenward District, but who would have thought Zhou Yan was adamant on keeping to their contract.
Since then, everything had gone wrong. One contractor after another messed up their orders. Not only this, some of their factories were suddenly being closed down due to inspections made by the government. So, although they had just started developing Heavenward District, they were already hopelessly behind.
He Julong had done what he could to ask for extensions, but Zhou Yan was impossible to move. Seeing that they had nothing to gain there, he had started to hire even more contractors. Amongst these, there were some he had never worked with before. In the hope of being able to finish the project on time, he had gone all out, but issues kept cropping up one after another.
Currently, he had received three cancellations on the shipments of materials needed to build the residential houses. The companies behind all apologized and paid the fine for breaching their contract. Even so, he could hear the lack of sincerity in their voices. He could not help but wonder what exactly was going on.
Suddenly a thought hit him, and his blood ran cold. Zhou Yan had said that the He family was not able to change his mind on extending the contract, could it be that he was also exerting revenge on them?
Raising them high, only to let them fall much more heavily when he reeled in the net?
Zhou Yan had mentioned that He Yuyan had insulted him. Was this entire collaboration a trap that Zhou Yan had made for the He family?
One has to know that if the He family breached the contract, or failed to deliver on time, then they would have to pay so much money in compensation that they would be declared bankrupt.
This was not something they had considered when signing the contract. They had developed many districts before, and they had a handpicked team of contractors, alongside their own factories to produce the materials needed. It really was no problem for them to handle a deadline like this.
But things had gone wrong for them from the beginning. Right now, it seemed much more unlikely that they would finish on time, and He Julong was feeling very uncomfortable.
He had to speak with He Yuyan again; he needed to know the severity of the insult she had made towards Zhou Yan.
He Julong went to find his father to discuss his fearful thoughts with, and when Mr. He heard the details, his face turned pale, his body staggering.
If Zhou Yan truly planned to be in the way of their construction, then they actually had no option other than to file for bankruptcy.
“Do you think we have to sacrifice Yuyan?” Mr. He asked his son, his eyes displaying a ruthlessness that was normal within the upper classes of society.
As the only daughter, He Yuyan was pampered and loved by her family, but she was, after all, only a woman. One day she would be married off to another family and leave the He family.
Not to mention, if she caused this situation, then it was only natural that it was her who should solve it. For her to drag their entire family down, it was something they would never allow.
“Let us go to talk with her first,” He Julong said with a sigh. “I don’t know the extent of her insult. If it was something small, then it will be enough to kick her out of the family, and he should feel good again, but if it was something that has touched his bottom line, I am afraid that we will have no other path of return.”
He Yuyan was in her room. She had been under house arrest for the last couple of days due to her somehow causing problems with both Han Qingshan and Zhou Yan.
The He family dared not let her wander outside as they feared that she would cause even more troubles for them, so when she saw her father and brother enter, she was hesitant. Were they here to scold her even more, or perhaps they would let her go out and play again?
