Like this, another few days went by. Zhou Yan refused to see He Julong, and no matter how hard he tried, it was simply wasted time.

The more He Julong attempted to see Zhou Yan, the harsher he became. Soon He Julong had to give up, and he decided that it was not possible to get things done as he wanted. Instead, he waited to see what his father got from meeting Han Weisheng.

The week passed quickly, and soon it was weekend – the time that Han Weisheng had set aside to meet up with Master He.

Master He had taken on his finest suit. He had spent a large amount of money on buying a vintage wine he knew that Han Weisheng would like. He felt that everything was sure to go his way as he went to the private room that had been booked for them.

Here Han Weisheng had already arrived, and Master He felt immensely uncomfortable. To have made Old Master Han wait for him, this was truly a grave mistake.

Han Weisheng was seated in his chair, sipping some tea, and looking at Master He with a completely expressionless face.

“Master Han!” Master He exclaimed the moment he saw him, “To think you would come so early! I would never have expected it. I am immensely honored that you had the time to see us, and I implore you to give us your aid.”

“What happened?” Old Master Han asked instantly, not wasting any time for pleasantries.

The He and Han families had been somewhat close for years, which was the reason that Han Weisheng had accepted their invitation. He was, however, no longer involved in the business, so he did not know what had happened. He was also unaware of the current predicament that Zhou Yan had forced the He family into.

“Originally, the Cloudsoar District that the Han Corporation is currently developing should have been given to us,” Master He began telling the story as far back as he could remember. “But because of a slight misunderstanding amongst the younger generation, Young Master Shan decided to punish our family and took the project away from us, giving it to the Wang family instead.

“If it was only that, then we could endure, but after accepting to develop the Heavenward District alongside the Zhou family, our contracts and the material deliveries have been continuously problematic.

“It came to light that the young Master of the Zhou family, Zhou Yan, is a childhood friend of this Jiang Yingyue. It is clear that she has spoken badly about us to him, and he has decided to take his vengeance.

“But this Jiang Yingyue is genuinely too much! First, she seduced Han Qingshan and made him give the Cloudsoar District to someone else. Then she turns around to enchant Zhou Yan and make him trouble us with the Heavenward District!”

Han Weisheng was completely silent as he heard the words; his brows were furrowed as if he was in deep thought.

“What did you do?” He suddenly asked, the question completely taking Master He by surprise.

Master He was sure that as long as he was implying that Jiang Yingyue had a messy relationship with the Zhou family, then she would instantly be kicked out of the Han family by Han Weisheng. Never would he have thought that he would ask about what they had done.

“What… What do you mean?” he asked as he gulped slightly.

“I know my son and grandson well enough,” Han Weisheng answered serenely as if he was not at all angry or troubled. “They would be protective of their own, that much is true, but a bit of pillow talk can’t convince them to cancel a collaboration like this. So what did your family do to make them that set on punishing you?”

Hearing the words, the face of Master He turned pale, and he was not sure how to answer.

After considering for some time, he gritted his teeth and said, “It was all because of Yuyan,” he said, finally willing to sacrifice her. “She simply loved Han Qingshan too much and could not stand another person being close to him. She just wanted to scare her, never would she have thought it would be as severe as it became.

“Not to mention, your grandson and Zhou Yan had already returned the pain that Jiang Yingyue was inflicted. Is there really a need to bring such childish matters to the business table?”

Han Weisheng looked at Master He, his eyes turned chilly, and his mood soured.

“What exactly did your daughter do to that girl?” he asked, this time his voice was stern and his expression stoic.

“Just… Just made someone hit her with a car,” Master He said feebly, trying to downplay the severity of the matter, but no matter how he tried to say it, it was, in fact, an attempted murder.

Han Weisheng’s expression turned turbulent for a moment, his eyes shone with shock, but it was merely for the briefest moment before he managed to disguise his surprise, and he once more looked expressionless.

“So your family’s daughter tried to kill someone?” he asked with a heavy expression. Han Weisheng had previously considered He Yuyan as a partner for Han Qingshan, but after hearing this, he only felt loathing when he listened to her name. Although she was a noble lady, she could not even match a toe of his granddaughter-in-law.

Just as he thought this, he almost wanted to hit himself. What granddaughter-in-law? He had clearly not approved of her yet!
