Blossoming Flowers - Chapter 233
Like this, the rest of the banquet wrapped up. Tang Meixing was silent the entire time and stayed in her seat, waiting for the banquet to end so that she could plan her trip overseas to study in an attempt to get rid of her impure thoughts about Han Qingshan.
At the same time, the many other younger generation members of the Han family were busy getting familiar with Jiang Yingyue.
They all found out that she was an ordinary commoner, even one from a poor home, and that her parents were her only family.
Many of them looked at the beautiful Jiang Yingyue and saw how graceful and elegant she was and could not help but marvel at the fact that commoners were not that different from them. She was acting just like a noble-born lady of a wealthy family.
Especially one of the girls, Han Zhiqing, was a person whom Jiang Yingyue got along well with.
Han Zhiqing was the most spoiled princess in the eyes of her parents, but she had never gotten conceited because of this.
Instead, she had turned straightforward and very adorable. She was one year older than Jiang Yingyue, but because of her sheltered lifestyle, she was not as mature.
Whenever Jiang Yingyue looked at her, she was reminded of a cat. Mischievous, but adorable.
The two of them exchanged phone numbers, and Jiang Yingyue instantly felt much better. She was able to have friends now. She was forever grateful to Han Qingshan for dragging her out of her life where she was filled with self-pity, and unable to take even one step forward.
Now she was an independent young woman, albeit supported by Han Qingshan.
But she did not mind that he was her support, both physically and mentally. The previous Jiang Yingyue, who pretended to be Jiang Fengmian, would never have depended on someone else or become so used to a person’s presence, but now things were different.
Han Qingshan was the one who had given her faith to become herself again. He was the one who had been by her side in her hard times, the one who had saved her when she was in trouble.
She loved him dearly. He was the sun in her life, shining light brightly on even the darkest of days.
While thinking of this, she realized that because she had been carried away by the excitement of getting new friends, she seemed to have neglected him slightly. Chuckling a bit in guilt, Jiang Yingyue glanced at the hall, only to find Han Qingshan standing alone in a corner a bit away, sipping on a glass of wine.
Excusing herself to the others of the younger generation, Jiang Yingyue made her way to Han Qingshan’s side.
“How are you?” She asked gently when she reached his side.
“I’m okay. Are you done?” he asked with affection heavy in his voice. It was a mellow voice, so comfortable to listen to that Jiang Yingyue almost lost herself.
“Thank you,” she said with a low voice. “Thank you for taking an interest in me. Thank you for not being scared away from me. Thank you for being by my side up until today. Thank you so much for loving me.”
Jiang Yingyue was speaking softly, and only Han Qingshan could hear her voice, but the words she said made all the blood boil in his body. He had a hard time holding himself back.
This was the family banquet, it would be inappropriate if he kissed her in front of all the ones from the older generation, but his body was becoming restless.
Fortunately, the guests were beginning to leave one after another. Many came to bid their farewells, and Jiang Yingyue held a pleasant and polite smile on her face as she was still somewhat nervous and reserved in front of the older generation.
However, her cautious behavior pleased them immensely. She was so polite and sweet, how could they possibly dislike her?
Finally, the final guests left the house, and Han Qingshan took Jiang Yingyue’s hand.
“Mother, Father, we are also going to go home,” Han Qingshan said to his parents.
The rest of the night, maids would be there to tidy up the entire manor, so there was indeed no reason for Han Qingshan and Jiang Yingyue to be present.
Han Liqiang and Yan Meilin nodded their heads. “Then head home. Drive safely on the roads, and make sure not to get into accidents.”
“Mother, I know how to drive well,” Han Qingshan could not help but answer slightly helplessly, but hearing his words, Jiang Yingyue snorted.
It was true that after getting to know him, he had driven like a responsible person, but she had still not forgotten him racing down a narrow street.
Hearing the insinuation in her snort, Han Qingshan embarrassedly scratched his head. “That was before, now I drive safely all the time,” he assured her, and Jiang Yingyue felt better.
She did not doubt what he said, hitting her with a car was likely to have traumatized him slightly.
They had driven Han Qingshan’s black Porsche, and it was the same car they took on the way back.
In the car, Jiang Yingyue felt her head slightly fuzzy. She had been drinking wine at the party; not a lot, but enough for her to feel slightly tipsy.
She was not a big drinker, so although she merely had a few glasses, she was now slightly dazed, and the rumbling of the car made her succumb to her sleep.. Her head leaned against the car door, and her steady and soft breath permeated the air.
