Business Love Affair - Chapter 1 Discarded
From the balcony on the third floor of the Bai’s Mansion, clothes, shoes and other things were thrown out like they were trash.
A pair of innocent eyes looked at the spectacle like it was a normal happening in the Bai household. Had outsiders seen such, they would have thought otherwise.
“Leave! I don’t have a need for a good-for-nothing wife! This marriage is over! You can take your daughter with you and never set foot into this household ever again!”
Mother Bai held Father Bai’s arm for dear life.
“Please don’t do this, Roman.”
Anger consumed Father Bai’s being and he could no longer contain it.
“I can tolerate whatever accusations you throw at me but seeing you being intimate with that man is my bottom line. I trusted you. No. Let me rephrase that. I BELIEVED in you, only to find out that you’ve been playing me all these years!”
Father Bai’s words held so much hatred that the little girl felt fear towards the man. She began to cry and Mother Bai came up to her to quiet her down.
“Do to me as you please but this child doesn’t have anything to do with this! Have mercy on your daughter.” Mother Bai pleaded.
The master of the house looked at the woman he once dearly loved with mockery and disgust.
“I will only take responsibility for MY son but not the daughter of another man!” Father Bai spewed out the words he had been trying to hold back for the past couple of months.
The look of astonishment crossed Mother Bai’s beautiful face then a pained expression that Father Bai could not fathom.
In his mind, his wife must have felt guilty and regretted her decisions altogether.
Mother Bai stood up and carried the child close to her. She nodded her head in surrender.
Maybe this parting was better than having to subject the children to parents constantly arguing over trivial matters.
Father Bai no longer trust the woman in front of him. How dare her destroy the family he tried to protect!
From today onwards, he’s cutting all ties with her. It will just be him and his son.
Glancing at Bai Roman one last time, “Vince gets indigestion sometimes, always feed him fruits and vegetables. Check his homeworks before letting him play on the computer. He like his soup warm. He has it for lunch and dinner. Nightmares frequent his sleep, make sure he sees a familiar figure when he wakes.” Mother Bai said without pause.
Mother Bai has never felt powerless in front of anybody let alone in front of her husband.
Bai Roman treated her as an equal. When she met him some years ago, his status in life did not hinder them from starting a family.
Her in-laws were supportive and understanding of the fact that she was a mere daughter of a hardworking company employee.
They were heaven and earth in terms of wealth and Bai Roman didn’t bother himself if he was walking on earth with her. He never made her feel less of a person until today.
What could have gone wrong? And their daughter, her poor child, his own flesh and blood was caught in between.
Only the gods can save her marriage now and they are nowhere to be found!
With all her might, Mother Bai dragged herself out of the mansion. Slow steps each time. Every step hurt more than the last.
Father Bai had the urge to stop his wife from walking out of the Mansion’s gate but his emotions got the better of him.
As a man, his pride was hurt. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw photos of his wife and another man sharing an embrace and an intimate kiss.
Months worth of misunderstandings and hurtful words thrown at each other finally took its toll on them.
Today, Mother Bai turned her back on the man she loved most and left her son without saying goodbye.
Maybe the hatred aimed towards her will be justified this time around, after all, she abondoned her son.
Big round eyes stared intently at her. Small hands reached up to her cheeks to wipe away the tears that won’t seem to stop from flowing out of her eyes.
“Jasmine dirty. Daddy throw away Jasmine.” were the words that made Mother Bai resolute about her decision to start anew.
This time, she will no longer allow anyone to make her and most especially her daughter feel unwanted.
