Can I really keep my Goddess Wife to myself and away from all the Crazy OP MCs - 66 Chapter 65.
When we were finally finished with the old woman in the blue robe we continued our journey further into the maze.
After ten minutes we reached what appeared to be the end of the maze. When I first saw it the first thing I felt was suspicion as t was a large open room with nothing inside. There’s no way it could be that easy, right?
When I looked at the guard and he also had squinted eyes laced with heavy suspicion.
It seems he noticed my gaze as our eyes locked momentarily. It was like we had some sort of mutual understanding. It was like we were long lost brothers reunited together while only secretly desiring to be first in line to kick the other off of a cliff to see what would happen.
In the end we just nodded towards each other like we knew each other’s secret desire, turned around and walked back towards the entrance to the room.
Of course, things never went as one wished.
Just as we were about to leave the area, a metal door lowered from the ceiling and blocked off our only path of retreat.
It was also at that moment, a gaping hole opened up in the ceiling and a large red and blue semi truck fell to the ground in front of us.
When I saw that semi truck, a sense of horror assaulted me. The only thing I could think was, how the hell did they get away with making that?! Is this really fine?! No one’s going to get sued, right?
While I panicked about unnecessary things, a certain crown prince’s eyes were sparkling.
He walked towards the semi truck and when he was only ten meters away, something not so unexpected happened.
The truck suddenly jumped backwards into the air and transformed. When I saw what was painted on his body I almost went into a raging frenzy.
“Minimus Prime? Minimus Prime?! Are you kidding me?!”
It looked like the crown prince’s desires only spurred on further when he saw the semi truck transform.
A mechanical voice sounded out, “Junkerbots, roll out.”
What the hell? Don’t say that when you are throwing a punch! It’s confusing!
The crown prince dodged out of the way, but rather than growing fearful or cautious he appeared more excited than ever.
He lunged towards Minimus Prime and threw out a punch causing Minimus Prime to slide backwards.
“If you submit to I, the crown prince of the celestial empire, I will let you enjoy a good life.”
“Fowl Conartist, do you think you can deceive me, the leader of the Junkerbots?”
“Leader of the Junkerbots? You mean there are more like you?”
“Of course there are you dirty Conartist, do you think you can beat all of the Junkerbots?”
The crown prince didn’t look scared in the slightest and instead looked elated towards Minimus Prime’s revelation.
That was when I heard Anything is Possible mumble with an exhausted expression, “not again.”
The crown prince rushed towards Minimus Prime once more. This time Minimus Prime threw out an intimidating punch to counter the crown prince.
This strike looked much stronger than the previous strike Minimus Prime had thrown out earlier.
The crown prince’s expression also changed when he noticed the power behind the metallic fist approaching his face and a white glow was emitted from the palm of his hand. With the glow that surrounded his hand he looked alot more confident.
It appeared that Minimus Prime’s instincts were pretty good for a robot. When he saw the white glow around the crown prince’s hand he halted his punch and instead jumped backwards and his hand transformed into a gun. Since I felt like I needed to put my two cents into the fight, I naturally said, “not bad” loud enough for little Han to hear.
When Anything is Possible saw the gun his eyes opened wide and his breathing sped up. I’d like to think it was my profound words of not bad that had caused his reaction, but it really looked like the power of guns was something he had experienced first hand on more than one occasion.
The crown prince looked oblivious and just had a questioning look on his face.
While he stood there confused, Anything is Possible barked out furiously, “idiot! Dodge out of the line of fire!”
While all this occurred, a white glow had built up and was emitted from the barrel of the gun.
It seems the crown prince’s danger instincts finally kicked in and he jumped to the side just as a beam was fired out from the gun. If it wasn’t for being forced to keep up my appearance, my jaw would have dropped to the floor. It was a freaking beam rifle! A freaking beam rifle! Like, come on, I want one!
Rather than fear, all I saw was a somewhat perverted excitement in the crown prince’s eyes.
“What are you doing standing around there like fools? Help this crown prince of yours capture this thing!”
“Eh? Do we have to?”
One of the three stooges seemed dissatisfied and voiced his discontent.
Anything is Possible was also glaring daggers at the crown prince with endless resentment in his eyes.
“Hurry up! Do you want to be executed when this is over?”
The crown prince’s followers, upon hearing that, reluctantly moved into action.
They surrounded Minimus prime from all angles and launching attacks through guerilla warfare. There were about fifteen cultivators fighting and whenever Minimus Prime’s back faced a group of them they would dash towards him and land a few hits.
The sound of metal being dented rang out constantly while Minimus Prime was forced to back off. He staggered several times due to being forced off balance thanks to the attacks from behind and he was unable to launch successive attacks thanks to that.
Whenever he turned around, like pesky little flies they used their speed advantage to circle around him and stuck to his back while they drew out a safe distance away from him. Concurrently others closed the distance and launched additional attacks when his attention was divided.
Wasn’t this way too dirty? Was this really how cultivators from a prestigious empire fought? Shouldn’t they be more cocky and arrogant? Shouldn’t it have been one of the minions, rather than the crown prince who cockily stepped out at the beginning before getting blasted away? That minion would end up with a large gaping hole directly through his body which would have plunged everyone into utter despair. They would then struggle through a life and death battle to keep their lives all while strengthening their manly bonds with one another. Shouldn’t that be how the story played out? Then, what was this shameless display supposed to be?
When I looked at Minimus Prime I actually felt really bad for the poor guy. He probably thought he was going to push around some weak little prisoners today, but what did he get? A bunch of shameless vultures taking advantage of every moment of weakness he displayed.
However, to my surprise, it didn’t look like Minimus Prime was panicking at all. After he took a beating for quite some time it was only then it happened. Rather than discouraged, I felt the air of resolution which radiated from Minimus Prime.
After an hour long intense struggle, he was backed against the wall of the room while the crown prince stood in front of him with a look of arrogance on his face.
“Minimus Prime, bow down and submit to this crown prince. You are definitely a praiseworthy warrior to last this long against us, however, even with your weapons, if you can’t hit us you definitely can’t beat us. Join us.”
I was so confused because what I had witnessed felt like a unaired footage of M*gatron trying to recruit O*timus Prime. Was this some sort of hidden episode that never made the cut?
“I suppose I have no choice. Filthy Conartists! Hear me! Even on my dying breath, I will never submit to you!” After he declared his position, Minimus Prime’s eyes emitted a red glow and the temperature in the room rose rapidly.
The arrogant crown prince who was just about to lunge towards the cornered Minimus Prime backed off like a cat whose tail was stepped on.
Even I could sense the danger from where I stood.
When I looked towards my little wife she looked more excited than anyone like she was curious what kind of show she was about to watch. She even looked towards me with anticipation like she really thought I was supposed to be the one to do something about it.
“What? Me?”
She nodded her head expectantly.
“Why not you? Aren’t you all powerful and mighty?”
“Husband needs to show his manly side sometimes, right?”
“Foolish Conartists, I may not be able to beat you and survive, but don’t think you will escape this place alive!”
“The Plugspark, initiate detonation sequence!”
His metallic body turned fiery red, there was no longer any trace of his former blue.
Everyone’s danger senses had kicked in and everyone retreated to the opposite side of the room with pale expressions on their faces.
“You idiotic crown prince! Maybe we could have negotiated with it if you didn’t suddenly pick a stupid fight with it!”
“How was I supposed to know it could do something like detonate?”
While they were arguing I suddenly had a question.
This is reality, right? Doesn’t that mean Minimus Prime is just an oversized, walking, talking electronic device?
I felt a lot more confident when I thought about it further.
He was on the verge of detonating, but I felt more calm than before. Maybe it was because my wife was beside me. Maybe it was because I had a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. It could also just be because I was hiding behind little Han right now. There was an amazing thing called plot armour for the little MC in front of me.
Is this not what you were born for little Han?
I looked towards him with my own expectations.
However, my expectations were betrayed as he just looked back at me with glittering eyes.
Eh? What? Am I supposed to be your plot armour? No way! You do it you brat! What do I even keep you around for?
Ugh. Distanced master, distanced master. Right. I need to keep up the act.
“Little Han, I will step in this time, but in the future you must face hardships on your own or you will never grow. In the future, I will not lift a finger even if you are about to die.”
“Yes, venerable master.”
He wasn’t discouraged at all and looked more eager to see how I would resolve the situation.
The guard, Bob, on the other hand was horrified right now and I even heard him cursing under his breath. “That stupid brat, is she actually trying to kill us guards as well? Damn it! I don’t get paid enough for this! This was not part of the job description!”
It really couldn’t be helped I suppose. I’d rather not test the strength of the spark plugs Minimus Prime … I mean The Plugspark he was about to detonate.
I stepped out from the crowd whom had their backs against the wall and walked over to fiery red Minimus Prime.
When I was far away enough from the crowd, I mumbled under my breath low enough so no one else heard what I said.
Naturally what I had resolved myself to use was my trump card, “if you plan to really detonate ‘The Plugspark,’ let the heavens smite you down.”
After I finished my imposing dialogue, I swished my sleeve and made myself look as majestic and dashing as possible to put on a show for all the observers. My timing was truly impecable as I turned around almost at the same time the lightning strike came down.
Crash!
A gigantic lightning bolt struck down right on top of Minimus Prime.
Do you wonder how it could strike while we were underground? The heavens don’t care about obstructions, if they want to smite, they will smite. None can remain unsmitten before the heavens eyes.
I walked back towards the crowd like it everything I had done was something insignificant.
Minimus Prime behind me was now frozen up. It looked like all his circuits were fried just as planned.
The so called detonation sequence was aborted and Minimus Prime was left standing motionlessly with a trail of black smoke emitted from his head.
When I was back to my original position next to little Han, I could see the worship within his eyes. He looked at me like some kind of legendary figure who could avert any crisis with a casual wave of their hand.
“Venerable master, what was that move you just used?!”
“Oh that? Nothing much. Just a casual move that manipulates the laws of this world.” I call it grabbing onto the big leg known as the heavens.
It was like I could see my nose grow bigger when I let myself drown in everyone’s admiring gazes.
“Manipulates the laws of the world? Ha! Didn’t you just get lucky? Wasn’t that just a safety mechanism to protect the facility in case things got too out of control?”
Of course, the slut beside little Han didn’t buy into the lightning bolt I put so much effort into conjuring.
“Haaah. Little girl, you are still just a little 8th realm mortal child who can’t understand the natural laws of this tiny mortal realm. When you reach a certain realm of strength you will understand what really happened just now was no fluke.”
“Husband, do you mean they will understand you scammed them?”
Little invisible wife, please mind your own business.
“Hmm? Husband, am I right? Well?”
She poked my cheek while she teased me without anyone noticing a thing.
Little wife, can you not let your husband act cool?
“Aren’t you just trying to pull the wool over my darling’s eyes? You’re a phony and you know it!”
“Aoi, don’t try to enrage venerable master. To people like him, we are tiny little ants in a sandbox.”
“Don’t concern yourself over it little Han. I would never be enraged over a small minded woman.”
“You!”
I could tell she definitely wanted to eat me alive.
Carnivorous woman are scary, I simply looked away and ignored her glare thereafter.
When I looked towards everyone else around us they were just silently staring at me with suspicion written all over their faces.
I could hear them whispering, “that women’s words seem more probable than him actually conjuring lightning, right? It must have been the owners of the facility, right? They probably just didn’t want their lab rats to be killed by an explosion.”
Come on! Are you kidding me?!
The only one who really bought into my act was my devout believer, little Han who still had an expression of worship and admiration on his face.
When I saw the crown prince, he was just staring at Minimus Prime with a regretful expression like he couldn’t believe someone would rather commit a suicide bombing than become his servant. He only glanced at me once with an expression of hatred like I had slaughtered his whole family, but he soon returned to normal and ignored me.
When the guard, Bob, recovered from his shock he looked at me deeply before he wordlessly lead the way to the exit of the room.
When we reached the exit, it was a smaller dead end area with no doors, but there was a raised platform like area centered in the room
Once we were all on the platform, Bob pulled out his phone again and fiddled with it for a moment before the floor suddenly moved upwards.
When I say it moved upwards I mean it shot upwards like a bullet and slammed everyone with cultivation bases below 6th realm semi transcendents to the ground. Even I almost found myself in the embarrassing predicament of nearly being floored.
Of course, I couldn’t show weakness in front of little Han, so I stood like an unmoving mountain with my back towards him while he was on the ground and said, “little Han, always expect the unexpected.”
Unexpectedly I didn’t hear a response from him though. When I snuck a glance behind me, I saw a certain slut pressing little Han to the ground with their lips locked.
I’m going to beat his ass. I’m definitely going to beat some sense into him. Get a room!
Not jealous. Not jealous. I am not.
Luckily little Han couldn’t see my face twitching right now or my dignity would have taken a severe blow.
Really though, who is the designer for this crappy place? I have a lot of complaints to file. Is there a suggestion box?
How about a gradual increase in speed instead of a burst of acceleration meant to swat a fly?
Was the little girl upset her toy was broken or something?
After a few seconds spent moving upwards, the platform eventually came to an abrupt stop.
By an abrupt stop I naturally mean a stop in which an object in motion stays in motion unless acted on by an opposing force. This time everyone was sent flying into the air like rag dolls. It seemed like pitiful cultivators like us without the ability to fly were no match against the laws of physics.
I, on the other hand, managed to retain my dignity by wrapping my arms around my wife who didn’t budge an inch. I was simply crossing my arms, that was all. You got a problem with my manly resolution to stand up firmly on my two feet rather than being sent flying?
Everyone hit the ceiling like swat flies falling back down to the ground. Cultivators planted their feet on the ceiling before they pushed off and landed while trying to keep up appearances. The low level mortals weren’t so fortunate though and landed on their derrières. It’s not like I was being smug about being the only one who wasn’t sent flying or anything.
However, before everyone fell back to the ground, I noticed my sister. I hadn’t paid her much attention since arriving, but she was presently falling head first back towards the ground. It seemed she hit her head on the ceiling from the momentum and hadn’t recovered yet. I didn’t want her to get injured so I reluctantly let go of my wife, dashed towards her and caught her in a princess carry.
If she wasn’t my sister and I wasn’t already married, I’m sure I would taken advantage of her much more than I had. But rather than doing something like that, I just let her down and turned my attention elsewhere.
All I heard from her was a quiet, “thank you.”
I didn’t bother to reply as my eyes were already glued to the door in front of us.
After going through all the pointless detours I really hoped we were finally at our destination. I was only able to pray that was the case.
