Can I really keep my Goddess Wife to myself and away from all the Crazy OP MCs - 81 Chapter 80.
(POV Megumi)
“…”
Husband, I’m just going to pretend I saw nothing. This is way too embarrassing. Your little play was one thing, but the jewel disguised as a rock you took with you. Can you please stop messing around? Just put it back! You don’t even need it you jerk! You’re going to drive your little wife crazy. I know I initially just tossed it out in the woods, I also get that it was free game for whoever stumbled upon it and discovered the secrets hidden within the jewel, but this is really too much! Why are you using your fortune now of all times to stumble upon things you don’t need?
Should I interfere after all? No, I promised myself I wouldn’t interfere in this so called trial by fire after I switched out the inheritance. I can’t interfere in everything just because I get influenced by my husband.
Whatever, I’ll just make sure he gives it to someone else later. I have other things to take care of right now. It’s already that girls first performance. I left her at the venue for a moment when the curiosity got the best of me, but it’s already her turn.
I opened up a rift in space and appeared directly behind Chu Yue and asked, “are you ready?”
“Of course I am.”
“You don’t sound convincing when your eyes are swimming about like a lost puppy.”
“How the hell am I supposed to be ready for this on such short notice? It’s a genre completely opposite to what I normally sing.”
“Actually, what’s with all these freaks with weird makeup on?”
“Oh that? That’s normal, don’t worry about it. Now that you’ve brought it up though, you do stick out like a sore thumb. We should really give you a makeover.”
“I refuse! I will not!”
“Hmm, strange, I suddenly remembered a time where my friend’s husband said he was really attracted to girls who wore death metal makeup.”
“That’s a lie and you know it!”
“Tch. Fine, be boring. Just put on this frilly pink robe.”
“Isn’t this a bit too out of place for this type of venue?”
“It’s fine, it’s fine. It’s what they call gap moe. I’m sure it will be a hit. Probably.”
I said that while dressing her up in the frilly pink robe.
“Probably? Miss Gyoko, can you please not mess around? As sad as it may be, this is still my debut.”
In response I pushed her back and said, “whatever, just get onto the stage already.”
“O-o-okay.”
I watched as the new born baby chick, with trembling legs, staggered her way onto the stage in front of the crowd full of faces painted black, white and red. The band were in the background while Chu Yue stopped and stood dead center on the stage in front of a very confused audience.
She shyly raised the microphone with her eyes locked on the ground and quietly said with slightly teared up eyes, “h-h-hello everyone. My name is Chu Yue, an idol in the making and this is my debut performance.”
What followed her introduction were a bunch of jeers from the audience in death metal.
“Boooooooo! Boooooooo!”
“Get off the stage little girl!”
“Scram!”
“ThiIiIiIs… iIiIis… death… meEetTtTaAaAaLlLlL!”
“Do you even know how to death metal little girl? Go back home to mommy and suckle on her milk some more you little baby!”
Chu Yue appeared a bit nervous, but she didn’t back down in the slightest. She raised the mic and started off with a beautiful charming hum that would normally leave one entranced. As her rhythmic humming sounded out, she performed the choreography she had practiced and moved about gracefully a top the stage.
This crowd on the other hand were only spurred on further by her seemingly ignorant behaviour that didn’t suit the time or place. People threw all sorts of foods and beverages onto the stage and it really appeared they were about to riot.
Chu Yue was completely oblivious to their mood and still had an angelic look on her face with a lovely smile plastered on it, she seemed unperturbed by the potential riot in the making. There were some in the crowd that flipped a few tables in rage, but Chu Yue simply passed it off as nothing. This girl was really a lot more daring than I expected. I thought she would cower in fear when the jeering started, but she looked unfazed like she had entered her own world. It felt like she didn’t even notice the raging gazes from the audience the moment she started her humming and the choreography she had practiced to the point it was habit.
After fifteen seconds of humming along with the soothing instrumental tune playing in the background, Chu Yue suddenly came to an abrupt halt and ceased all movement.
Just as the crowd was about to reach their limit and throw all caution to the wind, Chu Yue’s expression changed drastically. He eyes were now half opened, but slanted and sharp and the air around her suddenly violent, much unlike the earlier soothing calm.
That soothing instrumental turned electric and the tempo picked up. Laser lights started to flash all about the room and just as the electric guitars strummed out a heavy cord, a loud crash came from the symbols of the drummer.
Chu Yue simultaneously let out a loud deep satanic scream with a provocative look on her face and daring smile, “WaAaAaAhHhHhHhH!”
Her eyes appeared to be mocking and it felt as though she were looking down on the audience with utter disdain. When the audience saw that look of defiance towards their rebellious spirits, they soon quieted down. There was a strange tension in the air when Chu Yue took a momentary pause after her first death metal scream.
The audience seemed to be in a slight state of shock that such a devilish voice would come from the harmless innocent looking girl dressed in pink on the stage. After allowing the audience to soak in the sudden change in the atmosphere, the venue really heated up as Chu Yue continued on with her satanic screams.
“Decimating sky, shattering earth!
Bringing an end to the foolish mortals down below.
I will step across the field of battle and stomp your dead bodies into the ground!
Let the bodies hit the floor as they release their final breath.
The one to stand at the peak will be none other than I, the king of the underworld.”
Such grating words said by a girl dressed in a pink dress with a entrancing smile plastered on her face. The audience was of course rendered speechless and left in a drunken stupor.
“Let blood flow in rivers.
Let the vermin chew on their corpses.
Let hell freeze over and burn the heavens asunder.
The one true god is before you pathetic mortals plebs.
Get down on your knees and kiss my feet thou deranged little maggots!”
The audience was completely silenced as Chu Yue banged her head forward and flipped her hair in front of her to cover her face. Now the only thing visible on her face was a demented smile that would leave one frozen in place. Some may have been left enraptured, while others hearts may have leapt through their chests in fright without them realizing it.
She grabbed the electric guitar from the band member and tossed him to the side. She started to rip insanely mad solo cords while rocking her head back and forth wildly while continuing her death metal screams.
“HaAaAaAaAaAhHhHhHhH!”
“You want to stand on the same level as me?
Well eat shit you disgruntled dirt bags.
Drop to the ground and worship the god before you!
You think this frilly pink robe is a sign of weakness?
Even in a pink frilly robe I’ll crush you beneath my feet.
If the heavens fall I will shatter it.
If this world denies me I will deny it back!
Let the world crumble in the palm of my hands.
Let the sky be my bed and the earth become my playground.
You don’t like it? Too bad!”
She tossed the electric guitar back to the band member and stuck her two middle fingers up in the air while she held the cord of the microphone and let it dangle in front of her from above.
The crowd had really gotten into the groove and were also banging their heads back and forth while sticking both middle fingers up in the air.
She asked the crowd like a devil with a strange insanity in her eyes, “who is your god?!”
The crowd responded just as diabolically as she asked, “Chu Yue!”
“Who do you worship?!”
“Chu Yue!”
“Why do you worship?!”
“Because we are mortal maggots!”
After that, the music toned down into a peaceful instrumental completely killing off the intense atmosphere which left the crowd in a baffled state.
The punk demonic idol had suddenly reverted to an angelic goddess, like everything before was but a figment of their imagination. Her voice returned to that of a peaceful tranquility and her choreography that had become wild toned down and became fleeting and ethereal. Her hair was now tucked cleanly behind her and her face was visible once again as she sung out with closed eyes with the microphone grasped in both hands as if she were praying.
“Why do people fight?
Why do people die?
Why must we all hurt, and cry?
Oh oh, strange, as it may be.
Such is but, a distant memory.
To live, for one another.
To love, and find, harmony.
T’is such a painful reality.
Such dreams are only works of fictions.”
Just as the crowd grew irate at the abrupt change in style. Chu Yue’s eyes opened up wide and the air once again grew tense as the devil returned.
“Protect others? Hah! I fight to kill!
People die because I kill them!
People hurt and cry because I make them!
It is nothing strange, nor is it a distant memory.
Death is before your very eyes!
I live for myself and no other.
My love is for pure chaos!
This is reality!”
She raised her hands high in the air as if she were using magic to raise a storm. Her simple gesture caused the audience to lose their minds, raise their hands above their heads and scream at the top of the lungs.
“I love you Demonic Angel Chu Yue!”
At some point someone screamed that out loud and everyone in the audience began to scream out and repeat the name as if to worship the birth of a god.
“Worship your god Chu Yue you maggots!”
She screamed that line out once before she tossed the microphone far off into the audience. On her way off the stage, she took the electric guitar from the band member and broke it across her knee. She then walked off the stage with one hand raised and one finger pointed towards the ceiling.
She made such a grand exit that the crowd was on the verge of insanity There were many in the crowd bowing down in worship to the god that was suddenly born in the world of death metal.
After I bore witness to the whole sequence of events, I was actually shocked by how well she had done. Was this girl actually born for this? I was speechless and couldn’t help but wonder if I might have accidentally created a little death metal monster.
Of course, there were certain matters that still needed to be accounted for so she wouldn’t let things get to her head.
When Chu Yue stopped in front of me with a proud and content look on her face, like she were looking to be praised, I decided to make sure to give her exactly what she wanted.
“Congratulations on your successful performance, that will be 200,000 off of your paycheck for the electric guitar you destroyed.”
“…”
“Don’t look at me with wide open eyes like you can’t understand what I am saying. We’re speaking the same language you know. Do you have any idea how expensive those electric guitars can be? You’re lucky it’s just 200,000. Becoming an idol isn’t cheap.”
Thus, Chu Yue’s first gig quickly came to a close with her coming out in the minus rather than the plus. Meanwhile, I netted a nifty little profit at her expense for the tuition of my future children with husband. All’s well that ends well I suppose.
“Wait! You can’t be serious, right?!”
“I got no pay out of this gig and in fact my debt has increased?”
“It’s in the contract. All proceeds earned belong to the company until you pay off the debt it costs to bring you up as an idol.”
“Ugh. I forgot about that. Why did I even work so hard for this over the last few days?”
“What are you talking about? It’s obviously because it’s your dream!”
She then said with blank vacant eyes, “yes, that’s right, it’s because it’s my dream.”
Pfft. Because it’s your dream? It’s obviously because of the brainwashing I secretly did every night when you were asleep. Introducing trusty gadget number three in the series, this item is known as “Brainwashing Talisman on Repeat-san”. As for trusty gadget number two, that’s still a secret.
Every night I placed this paper talisman underneath her pillow and it would repeat any words I recorded with it. It repeated those words for hours on end while she was asleep and she eventually thought she became an idol because it was her dream.
If you wonder why I don’t use it to get her to lose interest in my husband, there are naturally limitations on its ability. It cannot forcibly change a person’s feelings, it can only plant suggestions. If you ask why I know this, I naturally tested it on my master before to try and get her to stop treating me like a toy. Instead of working as intended, the following day the torment I faced was even worse than usual. She was especially vigorous that day.
Really, these half assed items I bought from that sketchy pedlar in the past are always extremely limited in their use. It was on the third occasion where I ran into him in which I bought this useless item when he claimed it could brainwash anyone to do anything. I really need to find him and get a refund one day.
Just thinking of that scummy cheapskate irks me everytime.
“Anyways Chu Yue, your next big gig has already been decided. We’ve got to hurry and start your training for it. It’s going to be slightly different from this venue and on a much larger scale as well. You’ve got a month to complete your training for this one, so you better prepare well. Your training is going to be far more intense compared to what you have done so far.”
“What?! Even worse than what it is presently?”
“Those fearful puppy dog eyes aren’t going to get you anywhere.”

“Ugh. I want to be comforted and doted on by master.”
“Hmm? What was that?”
“Nothing.”
“Well, you may very well see who you’ve been wanting to see at your next gig if you work hard.”
She perked up her chin with brightened eyes when she heard that. It was to the point that I really doubted whether this girl was the same person who had performed on stage earlier and was heralded as a demonic angel.
In the end, I figured the carrot on a stick was the best approach to keep her motivated. Although, the fact that she hadn’t given up even in the slightest on my husband really gave me a headache.
