Captain Raven - Chapter 8 Avarus Malum
“Men to the ships!” ordered the commander. “YES COMMANDER!” answered thousands and thousands of soldiers at once!
Equipped with the best gear and the best technology, veterans of the battlefields, trained and disciplined. True soldiers.
The view of thousands and thousands of soldiers entering the ships is very magnificent and at the same time frightening awe inspiring.
Avarus Malum is a mysterious organization, it came out of nowhere and spread silently like a tumour in many galaxies. The name itself means greedy evil. They dont stop until they get what they want, everyone thats get in their way, dont lived to see the next morning.
The mothership of the commander was gigantic, such ships were constructed to get an overview of the battlefield and to conquer planets. Cant you conquer them, then there is only destruction left.
Avarus Malum conquers planets to manage them and to farm their resources.
What happens to the people that are living there? Well, they dont have much to say, if they dont comply. Avarus Malum uses ancient roman tactics in this aspect.
Promote the useful, get rid of what you dont need.
Why they didn’t conquer Earth?
Who wants an overpopulated planet with scarce resources? Nobody, simple as that.
But now this will all change with the arrival of Avarus Malum.
“Here is speaker Commander Rockwell, listen closely, we are in the periphery of the earth solar system, keep the course up. The warp had cost us energy, lets use the meteorite belt near earth as cover until we have full recovered.”
The Mothership ai sent the message immediately to the captain’s. It didn’t even took a minute.
To conquer Earth was just a red herring, his only goal is to get the artefact.
Conquering planets is a cruel job.
Old people die, rebels die, not many get to see freedom again. Death is Salvation, living is torture. That is when your planet gets conquered.
After the ships recovered they made their way to earth.
On earth
“W-what’s that?” said one girl to her friend pointing up to the sky.
“Since when got the sky red?” answerd she back.
“Grandpa is it normal to see a red sky?” asked a man in his forties.
“Red? no why?” answered the grandpa.
“i looked up and the sky is r-…”
“Mommy look up there!” said a young boy to his mother.
“Kevin, what do you want to show m-…”
“Fire.”
BOOOM
Large lasers, beams, Canon, all possible things rained upon the cities on earth!
The sky cleared, red ships were to see.
An Army of Ships painted in bloodred.
All people that survived that first attack looked up. Their faces were filled with horror.
A man slumped to the floor and was aghast. In the surroundings were organs, hands, arms, blood, rubble, kids crying, mothers without children, dead fathers, suicides. It was literally worse then hell.
the man looked up, saw the red ships.
“We are lost…Earth is doomed…there is no escape nor is there god…”
he grabbed a nearby splintered glass and cut his throat! There was only blood, not only his.
He was not alone many more did the same thing.
In the Galaxy there is a saying.
If you see Avarus Malum, the sky is red.
Bite your tongue, suffocate on your own blood.
When Avarus Malum catches you, you wish you were dead.
There is no hope, only worse than death is what you got.
High up in the sky, there was commander Rockwell staring at the destruction and despair he made.
His face showed no emotion.
“Follow the protocol…heil Avarus Malum”
